Kalmah are legends, they've been around forever and have like 10 full length albums and they're all incredible. I know it's not their most recommended song but trust me their best song is "hollow heart"
One of the few melodic death metal bands that hasn't shifted their sound over the years. Some have gone more radio friendly, others have gone to a more epic sound, and some have faded away. This harkens back to an earlier era of Skyfire, Norther, COB, classic In Flames, early Ensiferum, etc. By the way, Kalmah translates to "to the grave".
Basically "Kalmah" means to the grave or churchyard. Then the word "Kalma" means those ghost/living bodies that rest in those places and then have gathered as a group. But you don't respect those ghost or bodies. You find that group scary. But not always, there were believes when the people thought seeing "Kalma" wasn't scary. In early Christian times and pre-Christian times people in Fenno-Karelian area believed that if you walk through the churchyard or pass the graves you have to do certain rituals afterwards so that those ghost/bodies don't start to follow you. But people also believed that those groups of dead persons had powers. So the final thing to try to heal a sick person was ask to "Kalma" borrow its strenght "Strenght of Kalma". Some times the "Kalma" was seen as an omen for something/Death to come. Then some funny Finnish words "Kalma" = A group of dead ghosts or living bodies "Kalmah" = To the churchyard, to the grave "Kalmisto"= The resting place of the bodies in a churchyard "Kalmankalpea" = Pale as a dead person "Kalman haju"= The stench of the ghosts or the stench of Death "Kalman voima" = The mystical powers of the ghosts which could be borrowed.

Dude a big part of this type of music is the lyrics they are very much looking into and as a wrap and you would be very pleased doing yourself a disservice to not read 🤣
If Children Of Bodom were tonally like a Lake, then Kalmah is like a Swamp.

To quote Wikipedia - The word "kalmah" is Karelian and could be translated as "to the grave" or "to the death". So yeah, calm...
Thanks for the explanation
