I'm so glad I got to see them in late November in LA before all this pandemic mess. Kalmah has been my favorite metal band since back in the early 2000s.
Hades was the first Kalmah song I ever heard! Fucking incredible. Their first album has a special place in my heart - just raw as fuck. I love how the keyboards and keyboard solos became prominent over time as well though. They both got better as guitarists over time too. Pasi Hitula is the best metal keyboardist in my book, though Marco Sneck had some of the best solos ever on The Black Waltz
the black waltz is such a overlooked album... really their last masterpiece in my opinion.
The Blind Leader from Kalmah has one of my favorite solos ever. If you haven't listened yet, I recommend it
My favourite Kalmah song of all time, that being said They will return is my favourite album of all time.

This song, Hunter Killer by Quo Vadis and Sword Chant from Ensiferum all unlocked my death metal hearing skills when I was 15yo.
It was life changing. I was listening to System of a Down, punk rock and some power metal but after these songs...I listen to Mozart, Adele, Dying Fetus and like...all the muzik styles except country and rap (but Enimem is cool).

Finally!! Yes! Good song, great album. I hope you do more from Kalmah. I love this band.
Seen them three times since their first Canadian landing in 08'. I actually missed their first tour because of of Gigantour but Megadeth and that lineup was too hard to refuse. I'll recommend to have all their albums in your collection but of course "Swamplord".. This is a special piece and considering that Pekka didn't know much english (studied in college), writing alot of this content.. Very Impressive. I had the chance to promote for them here in Montreal/Ottawa at a few events and radio stations. Your reactions are pretty Ideal and realistic, right down to the guys having that country, finnish look. Antti was or still is on a hunter's and wilderness survival program with his skills and craftsmanship. Also they did a tour video back when they first came and mentioned how there is pretty much an "invisible bridge" that connects Scandinavia and Canada.. haha. Love and miss Marko but everyone is doing amazing, few member changes since first album. I love how you mention their live perofrmance Vs their studio... Not only the sound and colboration of melodies but the changes they do as well to increase or change up the flow.. These guys are legendary.. simple.
Best change was Timo. Really gave a new feeling to me, and also he rapidly became my favorite bassist.
Hey guys. Have you heard kingston wall? Its finnish progrock so not metal but still allmost every finnish metal fan usually knows them. I dont expect a reaction vid but check them out, i think youll find them really enjoyable.
