Love how Sheila E. controlled the tempo, established the vibe and commanded the band to follow her lead. Even before the song started, you can hear her unmic'd tambourine accenting the 16 count from the audience before the others joined in. There was no click track in her ear. Pure rhythmic genius getting the BPM just right.
Not to mention how Sheila ascended the stairs gracefully to the stage despite being blinded by those strobe lights, slyly checked her mic level with a "Come on, Come on" then delivered fire percussion embellishments and silky vocals throughout the performance.
Sheila is amazing. Made his performances that much better. I credit Sheila E.'s draw to much of his success.

yeah but IMO sheila is overated and special because she plays drums. Trust me what she does on the drums I can do in my sleep but thats because i came out of the womb playing TIMBALES...google timbales
