I'm 26, my wife is 21. I think we're considered young Canadians and yet we can't even afford to buy groceries, we can't afford to even live where we are so I have to move 2 hours away from work so that we can just afford rent
It is sad and deplorable that he thinks the middle class have more to tax

Id be curious to know more details because I just don't buy it. I used to live out of town by an hour and I saved me 100$ a month in rent and I got a bigger space when I moved into town. By doing some rough math, you gotta be spending at least 200$ a week between gas and wear and tear. And frankly, last I looked at rental prices about a year ago when I moved to my current place, moving out of core areas was not a way to save any money when compared to living without all those car-related costs. Let alone all that time you don't get to spend with family and are stuck sitting on the road.
So, because you have to drive 4 hours a day, to and from work, you will pay more in carbon tax on your gas.
I am sorry that you have to do this. 12 hours/day just to go to work,work and then drive home.

Taxing the hardworking small business owners and doctors will cascade to their employees. Anybody who has worked for small employers know. Tax money not free.
You only pay capital gains when you make a profit on a sale; that profit has to be more than 250k (500k per couple) in a single tax year. Then you only pay 66% on half of that gain over the allowance. If you’re selling something and making a profit over 500k, sorry, you’re not middle class. (Note: primary residence is also excluded from this calculation)

The billions given to war in Ukraine should have been spent at home to help Canadians who desperately need help from government.
