$300-400 is probably the cost of one of the two micro OLED displays. Every feature of the Vision Pro is class leading. I'm sure if Apple decided to build products with cheap sub-standard parts, they can compete with the others on price. I'm glad they go for quality and not volume.

My first thought on the battery life was that you can just plug in a more capable battery. I very quickly realized how dumb my idea is. Apple probably has thought about how to prevent you from doing such an obvious thing.

I’ll bet money that they won’t let you swap out the battery, and have it hard wired for “high power demand”. This whole thing is one big over priced gimmick.
Edit: well I was wrong the battery is removable and not hardwired, but it still uses a proprietary cable and connector, so I wasn’t wrong they are still trying to screw you over.
You can plus in more batteries. But do you really want to carry more weight
as someone not yet brainwashed by apple, it reliably blows my mind how people are over and over and over again disappointed by new apple products but continue to buy them anyway! I have no idea how this company still exists.

Meta Quest 2 is being sold by $249 right now. MQ3 by $499.

I’m picking mine up today either way, wish they had skipped the front screen and used a quality plastic or cloth on the front to cut out some serious weight.
I think most who complain are using the dual loop band as that greatly helps spread the weight, but I’ll wait to see if anyone makes an aftermarket band

Apple is known to not support first gen products as long as the next generations. Getting a vr headset instead of top of the line computer is just a dumb financial move.
Especially since their competitors are all cheaper and actually have applications that justify the cost.
Let's get real, the ones who bought this do not really care about the price tag cuz they earn much more than that.
Even though the first gen product is not perfect but they already sold for a ton of money like I was reading somewhere already 180k pre-order within the first week of launch

@@josephfrechette9916 There is no competitor for this other than Varjo XR, but that is almost double the price. The Quest 3 has A LOT of latency with passthrough, lasts even less time than the Apple Vision Pro, has MUCH worse screens AND cameras, lacks eye tracking, and has basically zero ecosystem of apps outside of games.
A world where everyone has ski goggles strapped to their face is not one I want to live in.

Almost $4000 for something that the $300 Quest 3 already does (and sometimes even better). Waste of money for sure. Also, the prescription VR lenses for the Quest 3 only cost $50. And the (much better looking) carry case, only $30😋
As long as its easier and more comfortable to pull out your phone, open a laptop or turn on your TV then VR will never reach mass Adoption.
When its a pair of AR Glasses and not a pair of VR Goggles, in 20 years time when technology permits, then it might be a thing .
What 20 years time? I already attended several XR events, you get Vision Pro display clarity and Micro OLED with even higher FOV with built in battery and AR2 chip from Qualcomm + Wifi 7 in a glasses form factor with a 138g of weight...
We are just 2 years away at max 3.... Infact to me Vision Pro is outdated as a hardware in this price point, what I have seen is well beyond Vision Pro
@@TRX25EX Until AR is AR ie fully transparent 4k micro LED's that you can see through both ways, that fit along with the processor, ram storage multiple cameras and sensors and a micro battery with 8 hrs plus battery life into something the size of a pair of specs, then yes that is 20 years away !
@@rocketmunkey1 you asking too much currently you get transparent display with active dimming function all the way to 0.001 light passthrough which means full VR support in a 4K Micro OLED with 120 FOV.... What is coming is more impressive this year in prototype which is dimming glass part only where the pixels that display content, rest stay full transparent.... Battery life not sure yet but AR2 is really good in battery life...

And the mass market agrees in over 30 years of commercial VR it just hasn't taken off, despite numerous attempts, Heavy hot sweaty isolation googles is just not a thing the average person wants to subject themselves to ! when it's far easier to just pick up a phone or flip open their lap top.
@@rocketmunkey1 like I said what you asking for in terms of development it's there as a prototype in form of glasses, infact I saw crasy demos where I was seeing the ceiling and you ask the voice recognition to show you weather in London and you get to see the place you are in with London weather.....
There's alot of cool stuff but since VR new to industry it takes time for approval, like I said Vision Pro looks outdated compared to tech I saw in the events

hi, last month i purchased xreal air 2. i have long site, i thought people with short site will have to wear prescription lens, but for my surprise long site people have problem in viewing. i ordered lens according to my site, but i am not at all comfortable with lens and viewing experience . SO IN VISION PRO IS THERE ANY TYPE OF PROBLEMS WITH LENS ?

Yea, i watched the Verge review on that one. And - he hinted at it ... the headset sees your hands ... almost everywhere! - so one of the MAIN purposes of a non gaming headset will be quite awkward (for those that siphon the data off your account)
I mean I'm not saying a mini version of the computer from Minority Report wouldn't be cool, just not in as high demand for most people 😂

VR has always stayed niche and will always stay niche. 3D movies failed because of it and most people who wear glasses (myself included) wish they didn't need to, many wear contacts to avoid having something on their heads at all times
I was born nearly blind in my right so I've been wearing glasses for almost 41 years, and you ain't lying, and forget about 3D/VR/AR for a good chunk of the population with vision issues like myself, as it will never work till we get Star Trek Holodeck rooms.

2:45 This alone will kill the Apple Vision Pro. I may not have Netflix, but a lot of people do and one of the big reasons for VR glasses is having a giant screen everywhere you go. Of course you're only able to watch at most a 2 hour movie on there if you never pause or rewind it and start the movie quickly without searching too long.
Oh, so they come with prescription options you can order online or from the store that would be great if they do a merger with popular eye glasses companies!

Seriously not that bad of a device. Definitely revolutionary for sure and I wish I had the money to buy it
the Meta Quest 2 is less than a tenth of the price and while it doesn't show the real world in perfect clarity (a bit of a greyscale haze) you can tell where you're walking; it has most of the same app capabilities (but can also run Netflix and RUclips, being that it can easily link with a PC) and might even have more of a sightline than apple's "if seeing is so good why didn't they make a Seeing 2?"
Yes, AR is different from VR, but this is more like VR Lite, being that a phone can do all the things it can and has 10x longer battery
It needs improvement, don't spend 4000 theoretical dollars on this
