Aside from copying DeWalt, Milwaukee uses plastic gears for the fence . It has no balls ripping dense material and a 5ah battery will get so hot it shuts down, so really only larger ah batteries are useful, best with HO batteries.
..... Robin your getting a little gitty over these free Milwaukee tools. You use to be much more unbias in your reviews , actually leaning towards euro made tools....

Very nice. I would be lost with out my mitre saw station. I have a video on how to make star shaped knobs. I find they are easier to grip then the round one you made.
I saw that video and was thinking of giving it a go. Now that I’ve tasted t tracks I might try it in the future

Hey Robin, the stand turned out great .Thank you very much for the shout out, it’s always appreciated. I’m with you on the fence. I didn’t use my mitre saw for about a year because the whole station was covered in crap. I contemplated getting rid of it but in my recent cleanup I added a fence purely for the same reason as you did. So far so good.

Great build, Robin! One thing I've been contemplating is adding a "box" around the mitre saw to help with the dust the shop vac doesn't catch. Do you think you'll incorporate something like that down the road? Can't decide if it's worth the time or not.
Thanks! I know Jay Bates has gone that route and he swears by it! He hooked up his big dust collector to the box so as he’s making a cut there’s a huge suction coming from the box. Nothing makes it back into the shop. I won’t be going that far with it but if you do I’m sure it’ll be worth it
@@RobinLewisMakes Gunflint Design and Fishers shop both recently did 'mini' boxes that don't encapsulate the whole saw, just behind the blade (Gunflint's is a fence replacement!). I've tried Fishers, it works *really* well. Might be worth a go

Nice work, but I did wince at the use of those crazily expensive "project panels" from Bunnings, still there are not many alternatives, not to mention the gold plated Carbatec? T-Track... Sigh... my wallet is cringing and crying in sympathy.

I agree with your reasoning for not recessing the T-track into the workbench. My workbench as it sits now has very little space left to work with because it's piled with all kinds of junk. Kudos to you for having that foresight.
