    I like this for many reasons. Organization, multiple uses in the same space, plans available if I want to make my own. Most importantly though... one step closer to not being able to fit the car in the workshop. Great job.

    Thanks for video

    Good video. Every time you narrated, I had to turn up my volume. When the music came on, I had to turn it back down. Ahhhh ;-)

      I have to agree. The video looks good and possibly informative, however, I just couldn't get through it for the constant changing of the volume levels. What you have to say is much more important than blasting us with music or the sounds of tools like some people do.

    I really like this project! Well done. Gave me some good ideas for an upcoming project I have. I'm new here... and there's no real way to say this without sounding like an asshole.. I liked the video, but I'm not going to watch the rest of the videos because of the way you uptalk (every sentence ending in higher pitch like it's a question). Even my 10 year old daughter mentioned it (maybe she only noticed it because she knows uptalking bugs me so much) It was really throwing me off. Is every sentence a question? The project and video editing were great, but the uptalking is really stopping me from watching more. :\

    Great job, for a self confessed inexperienced youtuber you came across very well. Informative and entertaining, thanks for sharing. From a personal view point I would't put the tool containers/Systainers as storage within your cabinets, rather I would store the containers elsewhere when not in use and store just the tools, adding extra room to store even more gear. - Subbed and liked, 5 ⭐'s

    My drill press isn't on a flip top and has drawers underneath. The option I took was to set it up so I can use the drill press bed to support extra long lumber. I adjust the height so it is level with the miter saw bed. Great work.

    Personal personal preference but I run from water-based products such as polyurethane no matter what I use them on I've had nothing but bad luck and to me they don't give the rich depth look that oil-based polyurethane gives you

    Nice work! Not really sure the purpose of flip top drill press? I didn't see any other tool being installed on the empty side! The problem with being right next to wall is that you may not be able to fit any other tool on the other side because it may not clear the wall while rotating...

    This is a great use of space! Great planning and execution. I would consider a small round over or at least breaking the front edges of your work surface. I've had a 1" Baltic birch worktable for a couple years and the edge gets banged up and splinters. Hope that helps

    • @furthernorthfab
      @furthernorthfab  5 лет назад

    Love all the ideas here, but I'd really like to see more of the finished product and, you know, just demonstrating using each tool on it. It felt a little rushed. I think this could easily be a longer video. Thanks for sharing. I think the only thing I might add is raising the height of the table to accommodate a jointer under one side of the miter saw. I saw another video with that idea and it seemed like a great way to store it out of the way.

    Great video. What draw slides would you recommend? And can any draw slide jig be used to align holes?

      I used the Centerline brand drawer slides that Rockler sells. I know there are a few draw slide jugs on the market.

    Polycrylic semi gloss is what I did with mine. By the time you get finished with the first coat you can go back to where you started and lightly sand with 400 grit and apply a second coat. I did three coats in one evening and it turned out great. Nice work also my man. Agree with the track saw comment also.

    Nice work. I built my base cabinets the same way. What is the height of yours? I was going to mount my upper cabs on the wall until I unboxed my new Hitachi and measured 31" from rear to front. Realizing that would create a unusable area behind the fence I came across your idea. Think I will do it. Got time check me out. Working Hand, Chazz deMeyer

    I really like your miter saw station. One question any reason for the flip top vs burying the base under the table top? I am storing mine on the miter station also and wanted to hear your opinion.

    • @furthernorthfab
      @furthernorthfab  5 лет назад

      The biggest thing for me was having work surfaces without anything in the way. Originally I planned on having the fence extend onto the flip top, but even that would have taken away from the having additional work area.

    Pro tip a bench vice and the quick kreg pocket hole jig do the same as that jig.
