  • Need a face mask but no access to N95, surgical mask or something similar? Try my New and Improved method of making an air filtering face mask / face cover that does not require sewing and only takes a few minutes to create. This design is a perfect addition to your social distancing and hand washing routines. I have found ways to improve upon some of the limitations that I have seen from other DIY designs while also following the CDC guidelines for cloth-based face coverings.
The CDC website states the following: Cloth face coverings should-
    * fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
    * be secured with ties or ear loops
    * include multiple layers of fabric
    * allow for breathing without restriction
    * be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape
The CDC website also states: "It is critical to emphasize that maintaining 6-feet social distancing remains important to slowing the spread of the virus. CDC is additionally advising the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others. Cloth face coverings fashioned from household items or made at home from common materials at low cost can be used as an additional, voluntary public health measure."

NOTE: DIY face coverings can help to block some dust, other particles and pathogens but they are not as effective as medical masks. In other words, it is not your golden ticket to safety. The CDC and other sources have noted that the use of cloth masks combined with social distancing can help to reduce transmission of infections.

Thank you very much! I appreciate the share as well. I've been tinkering with designs for quite some time but finally decided to put out a video. I've used the set up without the nose bridge for blocking dust when working on projects. [sorry Tom beat you to the punch... so to speak - lol]

@@DialedInDIY 🤣 "Tom" has around 365k subs, zero channel uploads, has only been on RUclips less than a year, and for some reason I have been seeing "him" on at least 1/3 of the same channels that I regularly like and comment on. The really strange thing to me is that the majority of the places I "see" him are on channels that I'm subscribed to that regularly have less than a dozen subs, or extremely low comment counts. I mean some really obscure channels one of them only has like 6 subscribers......what are the odds? Lately I've been leaving replies to his comments to touch bases with "him" but he has yet to respond to any of them. Needless to say it has me quite curious. A true mystery. How does one get 365,000 subscribers in less than a year with absolutely no content?

@@coolnegative That is pretty wild... I'd love to know how to get that many subs WITH content (LOL... but no, really). That is very curious... Given what I know about how subs and metrics work I cannot even begin to estimate the odds. I have seen the occasional site with allot of subs and no content but they usually have created allot of solid playlists of other people's original content.
