I'd have been fine if that 80s intro was a tribute to the Christopher Reeves Superman movies, but the whole movie felt like a huge step backwards. The Xena style tiara thing seemed unnecessary when she has the laso and that armor was pointless(probably just to sell some toys?). The opening scene made no sense. It completely contradicts the first movie, where her mother didn't want her to become a warrior and her aunt had to train her in secret.
the fact that they just added in a scene toward the end of an abusive dad, then a completely different abusive husband; for no particular reason made WW1984 a dud - just stupid.

Hey Charlie, just a small note. When referring to Robin Wright you add on the “Penn”. She hasn’t used that name since 2010 when she divorced Sean Penn. It’s just Robin Wright now 😁👍🏼
I watched it in IMAX on Christmas night. Was throughly entertained. First time in a movie theater since Rise of Skywalker. Not really understanding the negative reactions. But to each their own.
Personally, I would rate this movie as "kinda like Iron Man 2 but a bit better around the edges." Idk, a lot of positive vibe messages that really remind me of the old Superman stuffs in the 80s (in which exactly what you mentioned). It's clearly not as action heavy as I expected & the final act is a bit "forgiving" (for real, I don't think anybody died in the end of movie), but it's a pretty solid movie overall imo.
I thought the movie was better than OKAY overall. The performances outshined the story by a mile. Maybe that's just me fanning over the talent, but I just can't get over how Cheetah wasn't the main villain.
If the movie had just focused on WW and Cheetah it would have been SO much more interesting. It really felt like the first part of the movie was setting that up--Cheetah becoming everything WW isn't. That was such a missed opportunity!
Favorite WW moment? Gotta be when Diana casually has a big ass sword as an *accessory* for her perfectly fitted dress(that she just stole), all nestled up and cozy sitting against her bare back.
Man Charlie, you’re my go-to MCU and DCEU source for information and opinions but you’ve left me questioning all of my decisions. This movie was appalling. The plot holes, the plot itself, the corny writing, the minimal action, the bad fight scenes, the awful CGI and special effects, one-dimensional power hungry villains, and let’s not forget, lasso-ing lightning? Why does Marvel’s CGI always look so much better. I think you’re off on this one my man, not sure how you could have enjoyed it.
WW 1984 was AWESOME. Big screen experience. 2/3 capacity was filled. Everyone complaining about not enough action obviously missed the heart this movie added in. Gal repped. Pedro stole scenes and Krist held her own. Worth multiple watchings.
Saw WW84 today (in UK early release 16-DEC). Loved the 80's hype, exactly as how I remember it & it seems so funny looking back at it now, reminded me how well this movie & Captain Marvel pulled off those past decades. Overall 8/10, excellent movie, commendable to PJ for her vision. Highlights were Kirsten & Pedro demonstrating their vast array of acting talent (even in a comic superhero) movie. The best part is, of course, the main character of WW, Gal raises the bar yet again to inspire all others from their emptiness. Kudos to the lead female actors (Brie, Daisy, Gal, Scarlett & so many more) that are aspiring a new generation of young females globally. Grateful for a benevolent movie to end this torrid year & a hopeful 2021.
The movie was so chick flickish and filled with a bunch of goofy/nerdy good girl turned bad tropes. Some of the the action sequences/FX were B- Movie level. It was an okay movie. I rate it about a solid C and I wouldn't buy it on Blu-ray.
Saw in theater: I love Wonder woman and was so excited to see this but the story was really poorly written. Some good nuggets of dialogue but overall pointless scenes and it's never really clear WHY max has been looking for the stone. Also who created the dreamstone? It would have been cool to tie it to the female furies or the new gods or something. And the ending was cheap writing imo. Don't count on a cheetah return (whig did a good job though) It also seemed like they rewrote the story to avoid the snyderverse. I'm sad and disappointed but still love gal gadot, great performance. - 6/10
Definitely not as good as the first one but it was ok. I think people expected more action amd were disappointed. I'm just tired of the mcu comparisons and how ppl overlook the non comic things in them. To me it was 6 out of 10 as well
@@tonysmith9038 nobody is asking for an MCU movie. People just want a Kevin Feige type of person to oversee the DCEU because they're all over the place. Also the MCU have found their spark and are consistent with it. How can they go from the first WW to this? The MCU gets dogged out for no consequence yet the DCEU does the same. Superman died and came back the next movie. Steve Trevor too. People call MCU cookie cutter yet this movie was worse with its Saturday morning cartoon tone.
People were saying how she has proper running form and that it's so much better than the Flash, yeah but it doesn't look so good and imo is hard to balance with the special effects at higher speeds. All that Amazon stuff in the arena, the swinging from the lightning is absolutely crazy though, especially with that score. I just don't see why people hate the running form and all for the Flash so much here. I think it looks pretty good with the effects, except when it's over the top goofy in a couple of scenes. It just gives even more room for development, like of Bruce is teaching Barry to go faster, and they work on his form together etc
THANK YOU! You are one of a handful of reviewers who "GET" this film. It's DELIBERATELY done like an 80's film. Not as a parody, but written, acted and shot, exactly like if it were being made in the 80's. I felt like I was watching Superman II the whole time, which was great! The Steve Trevor body snatch thing was weird and the opening sequence didn't really fit into the story as a whole. but it was definitely an entertaining movie. Thumbs up!
After I watched this movie, I give it a solid 9/10, and in my opinion, it was better than the first one, to be honest. I hird people say that this movie makes fun of trump; it does not.
Interesting review! I hadn’t considered some of the ways you framed things in this movie. Now I want to re-watch it and see if my opinion changes. Thanks as always!
I'm not sure how anything positive can be said about this film. 20 mins of action. 1/10 writing. 0/10 directing. Just a totally awful film and not even worth Charlie wasting his time trying to find the positives in it lol.
I loved it when Diana reunites with Steve! It was one of the rare moments when bringing back to life wasn’t too far fetched and it made me want to watch Star Trek;) I think it’s rare to have a strong love story within a super hero arc. I binge watched movies on Christmas with my kids and between WW84 and Soul, there is a strong theme of finding humanity and appreciating life for life. EA, you did a nice job of commenting that the the villain is personal greed. I love the Gal Gidot Wonder Woman movies and I enjoy variance because I don’t want to watch the same but newer version of any movie.

Man i myself is a big marvel fanboi but we have to give credit to DC for experimenting...marvel makes only one kind of movies...DC experiments and that's why even though I never read Dc comics I appreciate them for trying variation with their movie themes...I think marvel is now going for some variation with Wanda vision and spiderverse...that would be interesting to see
The only good part of this movie is the first 15mins
Did not like it. Saw it in a theater.
The opening scene made no sense. It completely contradicts the first movie, where her mother didn't want her to become a warrior and her aunt had to train her in secret.
N this was the only good part of the movie. The rest of the movie doesn't make sense at all. So imagine how bad it is
@Zimron Edwards but she was a kid in the scene of 1984 n she was a teen when hippolyta agreed to let her train
It was the most entertaining part of the movie and it really had no point being in the movie lol
I didn't like her casting, Now I can't take my eyes off her. She is beautiful and does a great job by the character
She beautiful, but she can't act at all.
Seeing Cheetah in a future Dc film, like Suicide Squad is the the perfect idea 💡
I would prefer her to be in the Legion of Doom with Black Manta, Lex Luthor, and possible Joker. She's too op to be in Suicide Squad.
This movie sucked
the fact that they just added in a scene toward the end of an abusive dad, then a completely different abusive husband; for no particular reason made WW1984 a dud - just stupid.
@@VoIPPortland I had a problem with the guy trying to force himself on Barbara in the park. First of all they established her as an ugly awkward girl that no man want to pay attention to, but then all of a sudden this guy wants her? Also the guy just wears a suit and hangs around the park to drink and attack women? It was bad.
@@missstar5449 He was a drunk sex predator. It has nothing to do with attraction.
@@BlueSparkzVideos Assuming he's just a sex predictor standing at the same place doing the same thing and No one has reported him or or the police caught him? He attacked Barbara twice. Coincidence or unrealistic? They just wanted someone that Barbara will kill to show her evilness. It made no sense.
@@missstar5449 so true. Like okay had WW not punched him across the park i could see him still walking around doing the same shit, but he got his ass kicked you think that would have knocked some sense into him (no pun intended).
Hearing everything is dialed up to an 11 is awesome. I’m excited to see it on Christmas.
Have fun!
Dialled up to 11 in a veryyy...... bad way
@@emergencyawesome what are you smoking Charlie it was so bad
After watching the movie they messed this movie up bad, at the beginning of the movie in the shopping mall I thought wait what Spider-Man would appear with her lasso?? If they added a twist in the end when pascal yells at gal save the my son Martha and gal confused look how do you know my aunties name?? And end credits rolling. Now that would be a epic movie better than this crap.
people forget, wonder woan is about love, she is hope and love, if people are influnenced, wonder woman will try her best to save them and help them, if the enemies are just all out evil, wonder woman will become her bad ass amazon self, ww2 was fucking awesome, i lovved everytng about it, well written, well played and a great story telling and not only that, i got everything i wanted from a wonder woman movie
Hey Charlie, just a small note. When referring to Robin Wright you add on the “Penn”. She hasn’t used that name since 2010 when she divorced Sean Penn. It’s just Robin Wright now 😁👍🏼
Simp lol 😆
Cant wait to see the lasso of Truth back in action!!

I think you’re off on this one my man, not sure how you could have enjoyed it.
can’t wait, we’re so close to christmas
You showed my favorite clip of Christopher Reeves when superman was getting drunk at the bar lol
I love it when she shows up in Batman v Superman. Pretty iconic for me personally 😂 you’re the best Charlie
The lasso in this movie has rules not clear to even the creators of this movie.
So? Do we need a list of rules for use of an imagination?
I need to see Linda Carter in the movie to make me happy.
You will
Watch during the credits
Well, I saw her so I'm happy with the movie overall. I just hated the way Wonder woman ran and Cheetah should have been the main villain.
WW 1984 was AWESOME. Big screen experience. 2/3 capacity was filled. Everyone complaining about not enough action obviously missed the heart this movie added in. Gal repped. Pedro stole scenes and Krist held her own. Worth multiple watchings.
"He goes full Nicholas Cage."
Say no more. I'm in.
Bryan Singer: Superman Returns is my love letter to Richard Donner.
Patty Jenkins: Step aside fool!
This movie was a disaster from start to finish. I really found nothing in it worth the time. This ought to be the front runner for the Razzies.
Not even worth watching on HBOMAX. This movie was a big joke. Bad acting, and very laughable script, full of cornball.
Just watched the movie on HBO. Disappointed!!! Especially the character played by Kirsten Wiig, terrible!
"the character"? ... Cheetah lol but I liked wiig for the most part
Why does everyone keep whining about action when this movie isn't supposed to have a lot of action. You just expected the wrong things from this movie
Favorite moment is the boat scene with Chris Pine when they're talking about the "volumes"
Long live marvel
DC blows
It's barely worth watching
You can't even re-watch it. I feel asleep the first time watching it and that has only happened to me whiles watch the reboot fantastic four movie 😭😭😭
I haven't seen the new movie , but my favorite scene so far has to be ... Wonder Woman , climbing out of the trench, and crossing no man's land.
For those of you who saw it, should I watch this in IMAX? Or the standard version? Thank you for any input
What did this reviewer inhale! It was a bad movie. I really liked the first one. Gadots talent is questionable.
My favorite WW scene from the movies is from BvS when Supes asks Bats, ‘Is she with you?’, & Bats responds,’I thought she was with you!’
Just saw it ..........
Really need the Writers to actually read a comic book!!
I thought Antiope was going to say "you don't enter a race to lose" that would've been an interesting callback to the Leigh Bardugo book.
For some reason the closed captions to this video does not match the audio at all. 🤔
Ouch.. looks like im not alone in thinking this movie is a stinker..
i liked the flashback intro and the end credit cameo... rest was just so boring..
Thumbs up!
I thought it sucked. Hope other people like it though.
When Diana tells the God of War all the things she loves about humans. Almost brought a tear.
Favorite Wonder Woman moment: when she had ice cream for the first time (Wonder Woman Movie)

@@suzygirl1843 yeah that was a very cute and adorable scene
After I watched this movie, I give it a solid 9/10, and in my opinion, it was better than the first one, to be honest. I hird people say that this movie makes fun of trump; it does not.
Zack and Hans combination is always breathtaking
Charlie, love ya, but this movie sucked. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I've just watched the latest Wonder Woman 84 movie. OMG it's so shit.
