The Black Walhaut V2 is a little less soft and a little faster than the Beluga. The stitching is different on the Black Walhaut. Also, LGG is going to get some Walhaut's to sell, so if you are in the USA, you might want to wait until LGG get's them in as you will save A LOT on shipping! I paid way too much for shipping! The new soft Cordura pads they just released today, from what I am told, are different than anything else out there currently. I ordered the Speed and the Control soft Cordura pad from Dornfinger, which is the exact same pad the Whale is selling, only with different logos. I like the look of the Dornfinger Spider logo a little better, and it is easier to say! lol
Here's the thing though man. There's absolutely 0 reason to purchase this pad. Even if LGG carries it with cheaper shipping. 0 reason because so many pads out there exist already and the market is absolutely flooded with hybrid pads. Secondly, he rebrands the Dornfinger pad yet he had a bad attitude attacking other brands like Odin for absolutely no reason when he is just using OEM pads. That's my take on this.

My wife's family is German and I have a little experience with that. I hear you on the market being flooded with hybrid pads. I have 9 pads similar to the Walhaut in my collection. The main reason to get it is if you want a large deep good quality hybrid pad. I personally like the Padsmith pad the best out of all my Hybrid pas, but the Walhauts would be a close 2nd. I also love my Infinity, LGG pads, AC2 pads, Rush, etc....they are all pretty dang close to each other. As for rebranding the Dornfinger pads, unless you are talking about the pad they came out with today, I am not sure what you mean. Dornfinger came out with two different pads before the collab on this soft Cordura pad, and neither of those pads are anything like Walhaut. The Raw Pad, and Sliding Pad are not hybrid pads. The Soft Cordura pads, the Whale and Dornfinger work on together as a collaboration. I know Dornfinger's ultimate goal is to completely source and assemble a high-quality pad in Germany, without having it produced in China.

However, I could be wrong, as while Mark (The Whale) is easy to understand, Dornfinger is not the best with his English. I would love it if Lethal Gaming Gear figured out a way to produce pads of a high-quality nature right here in the USA also. I did not even know about the Odin hate until I tried to post a picture of one of their pads on Reddit and it was removed. You pretty much can't post anything about Odin on Reddit. I read the whole back story, but as far as what they have done in the mouse pad market they have just produced high-quality products at affordable prices. I have no problem recommending this stuff, and they seem to be working on some cool stuff that has me excited! The Walhaut is a quality pad, but as Fresh said, if you already have similar pads you probably should pass. Some people are pad collectors like myself, and just want to have every major mouse pad. If you don't have a hybrid pad, I say go for it, if you like the look and size of the pad. It's especially a bit better purchase in the EU, as they have fewer options than we do in the States. I know from talking to those guys, that their focus is the EU market. I honestly think the only reason they are selling to people in North America, is people are harassing them about it. Returns are a MAJOR hassle when dealing with faraway customers.

It is quite perplexing that the whale bashed on so many companies and touted the Walhaut as the second coming of Christ, when in reality he knew all along that it was just another variation of the Hien/Infinity/AC. Yet he had no problem telling all of us how much better and different it was. With shipping to my country, plus paying customs, this pad is more than $100 USD. I could buy an Artisan XL and another Esp Tiger Pro pad for the price of the Walhaut....

This is off topic but I notice you use the topping l50/e50, I have tried countless amp/dacs ranging fiio k5 pro to the topping L50/e50 and just recently sent back a Mojo2 because all these amp/dacs have this very similar sound signature where where footsteps are muddied in with gunfire and I can’t distinguish how far an enemy is. I mostly play CS:S and occasionally CS:GO I’m currently using the Sennheiser 660s with the Plantronics Rig sound card dongle and it’s amazing everything is so crisp in sound and I can pinpoint enemies with ease but my problem is that it doesn’t drive my headphones very well as it’s a little on the quieter side..I noticed in your other reviews you were stating the dt 990 pro paired with L50/e50 and that you we’re getting amazing pinpoint accuracy, I bought that same setup and it sounded good and all but I had enemies rolling up from behind me and it actually sounded like they were coming from the left or right. My question is, is there some sort of tweaking you are doing on your PC or is there some sort of option I can do on the L50/E50 to make more better?
I’m actually not quite in love with the 660s for gaming. But no you shouldn’t. Have to do anything with the amp or dac. You can play around with gain and volume settings. Also, make sure all surround sound in windows is off

The conclusion say its a high quality pad for a good price (if you dont have to deal with high shipping costs) and that counts. Stitching: When i look at the top stitching of the Odin pad in the review, it realy looks awful. So Whales complains seems to be corrct. Clone: Why could a product with similarities not be high end? All high end cars are also have similarities. Walhaut is inspired by the Strider, Hien and Aqua Control+ with focus on mouse tracking, stitching, washability and slip resistance. TheWale communicates this clearly in his product presentation. What do you want more for the price(Ger/EU). If you want a mousepad with integrated aimbot, the you schould play Apex with controller ;) Manufaturing/product bashing: If you watch theWhales reviews carefully, you may have noticed, that 99% of the complaints of products belongs to quality and/or price-performance. And these are the informations which are relevant in a product review. I own both pads, the black Walhaut and the Beluga since their release. The black one is a slightly faster and smoother and the Beluga has a slightly better stop point. Both have a very quality build with a harmonic characteristic. The durability (black one, Beluga is new to be rated) is extremly good, the feeling hasn't changed since january. I have used it daily 2-8h. Also the stickiness to the desk is extremly good.

It really boils down to, “do I own something similar?” Or “do I get this with the shipping price or something more affordable?” It’s tough because there are TOO many good options now. Doesn’t make any of them bad decisions!
Meh Still got my eyes on a LGG saturn as a control pad to switch between it and my Madcatz Glide 38 (with pledge). Hope all that crazy lockdown in china is not affecting LGG mousepads production quality or shipping
A lot of similar hybrid surfaces. They’re all just a hair different. The walhaut is definitely a premium choice, just depends on whether you already own something similar and how much shipping would be to get to you
Definitive an S Tier (minimum A Tier) pad for me. Used the AC Sakura for a while and the Beluga feels a touch more premium in every way. But i agree with you, with international shipping it's not worth the upgrade. For the first time it's an advantage that I live in Germany :D
