Stay at home mom is a privilege of the upper classes. Who the hell gets to be a stay at home mom and have 4 kids and not be in the upper class? Get to work lady. This shouldn’t all fall on him.
Do you have any idea how much 3 kids in daycare would be? Clearly you don’t. I have a kid in daycare and let me tell ya- we wouldn’t be able to afford 2 let alone 3 KIDS in daycare. It’s cheaper for her to stay home. Or maybe a night time gig or weekends WFH
So you want a lady with no college and no momey to put three kids in daycare? Have you looked at the cost of daycare? Not to mention she's out in the middle of nowhere. Daycares have a 9 month waiting list atm if you can find an opening at all
And then there are those of us who decided not to have more children because our taxes are so high and no safety nets if we lose our jobs. Why are the people who are least able to afford kids the ones that keep having them?
It's a huge factor in why the 3rd World is the 3rd World. Having a kid that you can't afford is one of the biggest factors leading to poverty. Having 4 of them? Good luck.
Pfff okay. And how irresponsible is it to wait until you're 35 to have the first kid and put him at high risk of having all kinds of congenital problems? Down syndrome, autism, miscarriage, etc? That all goes up significantly when your first pregnancy is after 35. Their money situation is temporary. Family is forever.
@@EC-rd9ysit might interest you to know that 80% of children with Down syndrome are born to women under 35, the average age being 29. The health issues that come with advanced maternal age are significantly cut with proper health care (thanks to good income). These people have several years before they even need to consider that since they’re so young. Poverty has a much bigger outcome on child well being than parental age so hopefully they can turn things around.
Where I live many people have kids in order to get the child benefit from the govt - they can make more that way than working min wage, but it means they have to be unemployed and/or underpaid to be on the welfare payroll
You’ll be ok sweetheart, when we were that age we weren’t even living paycheque to paycheque! We were in overdraft on our checking account by $2,500 so we had less than you! Your husband is a hard worker, he will turn his income around and you will be fine ❤
This had me almost crying. They're gonna make it. Itll be hard but in ten years theyll look back and be so happy about what theyve accomplished. I saw it with my parents. They were never in that level of financial difficulty but they had 8 kids before 30 years old, one income, owned a tiny house. There was stress, for sure. They don't regret a thing now. The people here trying to shame them for putting family over money should be ashamed themselves. Money is temporary. A child is a gift forever.
It’s also a gift to have them when you don’t have to stress about how to feed them. I don’t think there is anyone who would shame them for wanting children, but if they could get their finances together first, they’d be helping their children so much. They’re very young and have plenty of time to have more kids if they want.
Man, listening to calls like this is intense. I pray for that family and for that guy to find consistent work that pays well and I hope they are able to follow through and climb out of that mess. Good luck to you guys
She does! Did Dave Ramsey recommend her going to work? No and I’m almost 100% sure he’s more financially literate than you. And also understands the value in raising your own kids vs throwing them in a daycare
With the number of kids they have and the cost of childcare, any income she'd make would likely go right back out the door in childcare costs. I think she should try to find something she can do part time from home, maybe a call center
It's hard when a business that you've put sweat and tears into fails. I was about that age too when it was clear a business I'd hoped to make my life just wasn't working and wasn't going to work. It was a rough time but with some hard work I got back on my feet. I was single at the time so it was easier for me. My best wishes for them.
I'm thankful Dave said that about him in the end. What they dont understand is in this economy its hard to make it out here and start the Ramsey program. I think most people are just hanging onto anything.

I am so glad that Dave reassuring her about her marriage he is 100% right. Sit tight and support him he will go through this one and all of you will be rewarded trust me. Been there myself❤️
Sounds good but wouldn't really work. Let's say he works 8a-8p and she gets a job doing 3rd shift at an Amazon warehouse 10p-5a. He sleeps 10p-6a, she sleeps 7a-2p. Who is going to care for the kids in the morning? They can't afford day care and it doesn't sound like the kids are school aged yet. If they were in school it would be a great thing for her to do for a couple months. Better option is he works like a dog and she mans the helm doing everything possible to reduce spending, eat for less, and sell stuff, which is pretty much what Dave said.
This woman needs to get a job. They are trying to flex this middle class life when they can't afford it. Lots of broke women with kids have jobs. She just prideful
SHe would lose money if she did that due to day care costs. 3 kids in daycare would cost the equivalent of a full time job. They'd lose so many tax benefits they'd likely lose 10-20k every year with her working.
I can’t seem to catch a break with these market. Every strategy I’ve tried isn’t working, and now I’m too afraid to hold. How are you staying profitable? I’ve lost 55k this week and need advice 😢😭
I'm not sure which market you're referencing, but time is on your side. Hold until you're in profit, and consider a stop-loss plan of up to 10% for swing trading. It took me four years to realize that chart predictions are futile; you never know what will happen. Those years were tough without a mentor. Now, I keep things simple and disciplined, averaging $47k per week with minimal trading. I'm especially grateful to Ryan Brooks for his insightful 1-on-1 sessions, which have deepened my understanding of market dynamics and eased my trading fears.
. I appreciate this recommendation and hope that by hearing about it I can gain some insights into the direction of the market and strategies to combat the downtrend.
My mom told me when I was 13 to never rely on a man and that I would need 30 bucks an hour if I wanted to be able to support one child on my own. That was over 20 years ago and that 30 bucks an hour is nowhere near enough to support a child lol. Yet people are doing it on waaay less, I don’t get it. Im grateful she told me those things, at that age I knew I probably shouldn’t have children if I wanted financial freedom.
I think that after the baby is born they should go out and adopt adopt a pair of twins. That way they continue to have more mouths to feed as they work on getting her pregnant for a 5th time.
I'm so happy for that family that Mr, Ramsey is going to continue helping them they're just struggling to figure things out. I sure wish he was helping for myself, my son & my 2 rescue animals. 😔😢
fills the time .... sadly... we this time and time again... as a society we have no reason to STOP... back in teh day those kids (sadly) wouldnt make it or they would self regulate... now in the 20th and 21st century that doesnt happen... white black purple doesnt matter.
There were so many things that needed adjusting to make this situation work but everyone always goes straight for the number of children a family has. And yet, when your family is grown up and you've raised them well, you are grateful for your children. This family was doing well but his business failed.
He "has his own business", but is broke??? Dave's right. A business that doesn't make money is a hobby. She's a good woman. Most women would have bailed long ago.
I love how Ramsey is all about the facts but still shows humanity to people. The end where he tells her to remind her husband that she married him for him and not for the material things he offers, that was a sweet touch. Love Ramsey and team!
Do not sell your home right now! You only have about $70,000 in equity, you’re going to need a new down payment and mortgage interest rates are extremely high right now. You’re also going to struggle to find a home for less than the current $250,000 value of your current home and still be able to have a reasonable mortgage payment every month. Huge mistake don’t do it.
If he is in business for himself, then he isn't charging enough or is bad at estimating project costs. Or he isn't good at the work and ends up having to re-do parts of projects.
As an RN, my record for hours worked in 2 weeks was 168 hours. When my wife almost died of Crohn's disease, who weighed 78Lbs with our only child, you gotta step it up for the family.
I think having 4 kids every year is also a contributor why they’re in a situation they’re in. It sounds like they are not done breeding as well. Good luck to them.
$300,000x4 =$1,200,000 to raise those four kids to 18. I wonder if people looked at this from a math perspective rather than an emotional one, if we’d stop bringing kids into a world where they will most likely grow up poor.

Stay at home moms is a hard job..but still need side hustles and have a money making mentality for you and your kids. It’s crazy to bring children into the world without having financial stability first in place. It’s actually illogical
Foreal, they can't even take care of themselves and they brought 4 kids into this world. How stupid and irresponsible.
Amen!
It’s also a gift to have them when you don’t have to stress about how to feed them. I don’t think there is anyone who would shame them for wanting children, but if they could get their finances together first, they’d be helping their children so much. They’re very young and have plenty of time to have more kids if they want.
Exactly!

I'm thankful Dave said that about him in the end. What they dont understand is in this economy its hard to make it out here and start the Ramsey program. I think most people are just hanging onto anything.
Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early. I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1000,000 net worth. I know that doesn't SOUND like a lot, but I'm incredibly proud of it. I'm not sure which market you're referencing, but time is on your side. Hold until you're in profit, and consider a stop-loss plan of up to 10% for swing trading. Now, I keep things simple and disciplined, averaging $47k per week with minimal trading.

There were so many things that needed adjusting to make this situation work but everyone always goes straight for the number of children a family has. $300,000x4 =$1,200,000 to raise those four kids to 18. I wonder if people looked at this from a math perspective rather than an emotional one, if we’d stop bringing kids into a world where they will most likely grow up poor.
