He knows when to be harsh and when to have a lighter touch.
Dave gives fatherly advice. Although Ken, John and George are fathers, they are both very analytical. John more so because he has a doctorates. Im sure John is the same at home. But he doesnt have that father anger that Dave has when someone is about to do something stupid and you need to listen to me now tone. John is very much sympathetic and apathetic. It's a bit annoying and unfortunate. When i was born, the national debt was $2,150 per person. Now it's over $100,000 per person. And I'm not even that old. It's truly alarming and best advice get out of debt, make regular investments and be debt free and financially stable.

Another uncommon theme of the show that’s not talked about is how often small business owners fail. We live in a society where ppl glamorize owning a business, even if it’s tanking. Some of us are not going to own a business. Chasing that dream is destroying a lot of ppl.

Well you shouldn't necessarily feel better about yourself, but maybe you meant you feel better that you're not in as bad of shape as others. I think that's what you meant. It's like weight loss. I am really overweight and I've been at different weights all my life different times when I've worked to try to get it off. My body just doesn't do well if I eat out of line. Grew up in a rough home and kind of leaned toward food to comfort my emotion that's when the abuse would be so bad. Anyway I'm alive to tell about it and now is an adult I have on a massive weight problem. I had it almost beat one time, but anyway it's like weight loss. I would think that my problem is so overwhelming and I don't know how I can do it but then I go and watch 600 lb life and I see these people that can't get out of bed for months or years and everybody does everything for them and they're massively overweight and they're in a hopeless state of mind and it seems completely hopeless but there's a few that when help is given and offered they take it and run with it so to speak and they're able to climb out of it and be a normal person one day. When I watch those ones where they show how horrible their life is then I soon realize mine is not even close to being that bad and then I think maybe I can actually do this. Anyway you probably think I'm a whack job for sharing that oh no but anyway it just made me think of that

Maybe if your kiddos are out at school, and other moms need their babies taken care of. Help other moms and start a daycare business! Keep it to babies and kids under 2 or something. It's difficult but not impossible for one man to go through this financial journey alone. I do agree with more jobs and/or start firesaling all your liabilities and keep minimal. You guys got this!
A stay at home parent is labor not a job. Jobs pay money. Also a parent who makes money isn't a stay at home parent. You're right she needs to get a job though.

@brucefredrickson9677 No? my mother had 5 kids in the home, 3 biologically and 2 nieces she raised, and worked as an RN Midwife. I don't accept excuses. Equal rights equal responsibility. She needs to suck it up and happen to life.
Honestly speaking, you are never financially prepared enough for marriage or kids. There's always needs or emergencies that require more money. We're never ready in general because life is hard and uncertain much of the time and we aren't perfect human beings. But if we just spend our lives chasing money and stuff and stability for the moment (which can change at any time from multiple factors), we miss out on the more important things in life and finding a greater purpose and potential and growth and developing meaningful and deep relationships that fill our souls. Marriage and having kids is very often a faith based decision, trusting God and each other to work together and support each other along the way with what are the right decisions for your own family. We didn't have much money when we started out together, and my husband was in college still when we started having kids. But we both worked hard, grew and matured individually and as a couple, asked for help when needed and are now paying it forward (we are not meant to do it all alone), sacrificed many wants and conveniences, learned new skills and saved and prioritized better based on our values, and trusted God that He would help provide the resources in many aspects that we needed to succeed while giving life and striving for a healthier and loving environment to how many kids God has asked us to have and care for at the right times. I believe God knows us perfectly, sees beyond what we can as humans, and will help us through it. We each get to make decisions about the risks and benefits and possible good or bad consequences that come with it and decide what best aligns with our goals and values. Life comes with those risks for everything, but we shouldn't allow our fears to stifle our potential for growth. It's okay to face the unknown with courage, faith, and hard work. There's still ups and downs, but I wouldn't want it any other way. I've been blessed to walk with my husband and friend, side by side, as we figure out life together, and our many kids add joy to our lives even though parenting is hard work and often exhausting. But I don't have to do life alone; my best friend and I get to do it together. The many required sacrifices are worth making and have helped me mature and see and serve outside of my own self interests or goals, and the results have been well worth the effort and struggles. It's so beautiful!
It's hard when a business that you've put sweat and tears into fails. I was about that age too when it was clear a business I'd hoped to make my life just wasn't working and wasn't going to work. It was a rough time but with some hard work I got back on my feet. I was single at the time so it was easier for me. My best wishes for them.
Oh my.....mortgage has always been #1 in my life. Roof over our head, utilities, then food. Food can always be adjusted....beans n rice....add meat if it gets better.....food pantries can help. Best of luck young family!
This had me almost crying. They're gonna make it. Itll be hard but in ten years theyll look back and be so happy about what theyve accomplished. I saw it with my parents. They were never in that level of financial difficulty but they had 8 kids before 30 years old, one income, owned a tiny house. There was stress, for sure. They don't regret a thing now. The people here trying to shame them for putting family over money should be ashamed themselves. Money is temporary. A child is a gift forever.
It’s also a gift to have them when you don’t have to stress about how to feed them. I don’t think there is anyone who would shame them for wanting children, but if they could get their finances together first, they’d be helping their children so much. They’re very young and have plenty of time to have more kids if they want.
Stay at home mom is a privilege of the upper classes. Who the hell gets to be a stay at home mom and have 4 kids and not be in the upper class? Get to work lady. This shouldn’t all fall on him.
Do you have any idea how much 3 kids in daycare would be? Clearly you don’t. I have a kid in daycare and let me tell ya- we wouldn’t be able to afford 2 let alone 3 KIDS in daycare. It’s cheaper for her to stay home. Or maybe a night time gig or weekends WFH
So you want a lady with no college and no momey to put three kids in daycare? Have you looked at the cost of daycare? Not to mention she's out in the middle of nowhere. Daycares have a 9 month waiting list atm if you can find an opening at all
24! He is a baby! She is a baby! They can turn this around. He needs to call it but he can pick it up later. They have so much time to work on his dream. I wish them the best of luck!
I'm thankful Dave said that about him in the end. What they dont understand is in this economy its hard to make it out here and start the Ramsey program. I think most people are just hanging onto anything.
I think many people want to start their own business but do not fully research and/or talk to those in the field what is involved. There is so much to owning a business. Most small business owners who make a lot of money will tell you that it took them a few years to get to that stage and they did not buy a lot of equipment at the beginning.
There were so many things that needed adjusting to make this situation work but everyone always goes straight for the number of children a family has. And yet, when your family is grown up and you've raised them well, you are grateful for your children. This family was doing well but his business failed.
Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early, I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1000,000 net worth. I know that doesn't SOUND like a lot, but l'm incredibly proud of it. Now I'm fast-tracking my wealth building (investing $400,000 annually) and don't owe a dime to anyone. It's a good feeling! Thanks Brooke Miller.

It's a huge factor in why the 3rd World is the 3rd World. Having a kid that you can't afford is one of the biggest factors leading to poverty. Having 4 of them? Good luck.
Pfff okay. And how irresponsible is it to wait until you're 35 to have the first kid and put him at high risk of having all kinds of congenital problems? Down syndrome, autism, miscarriage, etc? That all goes up significantly when your first pregnancy is after 35. Their money situation is temporary. Family is forever.
@@EC-rd9ysit might interest you to know that 80% of children with Down syndrome are born to women under 35, the average age being 29. The health issues that come with advanced maternal age are significantly cut with proper health care (thanks to good income). These people have several years before they even need to consider that since they’re so young. Poverty has a much bigger outcome on child well being than parental age so hopefully they can turn things around.
Where I live many people have kids in order to get the child benefit from the govt - they can make more that way than working min wage, but it means they have to be unemployed and/or underpaid to be on the welfare payroll

Pretty sure there are customer service, survey jobs, and sales that can be done from home. My boyfriend’s mom last job was to call people and ask them if they’ve ever had Covid and what symptoms had they experienced and what not. That was it. But could be hard with newborns. Babysitting or doing after school care for other parents could help too.

Well all i know is that you cannot go wrong taking profit at near high. No one ever went broke taking a 10% loss. It's best if you consult with a fiduciary advisor to get informed buying & selling decisions.
They're better investment strategies than moving to all cash waiting to deploy. Follow the S&P 500 by investing in ETFs like VOO, SPY, and SCHD. Dollar-cost averaging into these ETFs will likely outperform most investors.

It's so heartbreaking to hear from of these situations.....wanting to work is not enough, being able to get that opportunity is what is needed.
This is RAMSEY, what a man!
Finical stability should be a priority before anyone ties the knot.
And definitely before bringing children into the situation
Listening to this to feel better
It's hard when a business that you've put sweat and tears into fails. I was about that age too when it was clear a business I'd hoped to make my life just wasn't working and wasn't going to work. The people here trying to shame them for putting family over money should be ashamed themselves. Money is temporary. A child is a gift forever.
Amen!
It’s also a gift to have them when you don’t have to stress about how to feed them. I don’t think there is anyone who would shame them for wanting children, but if they could get their finances together first, they’d be helping their children so much. They’re very young and have plenty of time to have more kids if they want.

Most small business owners who make a lot of money will tell you that it took them a few years to get to that stage and they did not buy a lot of equipment at the beginning.
Poor girl. She’s terrified. I hope they make it.
Oh please🙄.
She’s not a victim
@@privacyplease1556 , no kidding. You can still show some compassion for her. Plus, where did I ever say she was a victim?
@@firstnamelastname3558Saying “poor girl” sounds like calling her a victim to me!🤷🏻♂️
@@chuckgoodman3828 , it’s a family of five and soon to be six. Show some compassion, pal. They’re not wealthy and thriving like you, Chucky.
I'm surprised that you just mentioned and recommended Brooke Miller, I met her at a conference in 2018 and we have been working together ever since.
The very first time we tried, we invested $1000 and after a week, we received $5500. That really helped us a lot to pay up our bills.
She is my family's personal broker and also a personal broker in many families I'm United States, she's a licensed broker and a FINRA AGENT in United states
I'm new at this, please how can I reach her?
I just withdrew my profits a week ago, To be honest it was an amazing feeling when the profits hits my wallet I wish I could reinvest but, too much bills
Having more kids is always a solution
No planning, unstable, 4 kids, no education, low skill, and one failing income. Oregon is the 6th most expensive state to live in. This isn't going to end well.
Wishing the best for this family. Sending love and positive energy to you
Dude, STAY OFF OF HER!!
Or get a vasectomy.
Out too.
LOL my wife is pregnant with our 7th and i aint got no job ...GIMME SOME MONEY BRO..
Maybe she can’t stay off him
@@Bur6212 Both of them need their azzes kicked🤨.
I’m not gonna lie, there are times when I feel like I’ve been close to a rough financial situation in my life until I hear some of these calls. I’m blessed, doing way better than I deserve. Theres definitely more to this story though.
It’s crazy to bring children into the world without having financial stability first in place. It’s actually illogical
Foreal, they can't even take care of themselves and they brought 4 kids into this world. How stupid and irresponsible.
I remember having 3 jobs when I did my Baby Steps years ago. You will come out the other end. Hang in there!!! Live like no one else so you can live like no one else!!!
I think investors should always put their cash to work, especially In 2024, we'll start to see more market diversification. I'm hoping to invest about $350k of my savings in stocks against next year. Hope to make millions in 2024
Since risk is at an all-time high right now, perhaps you should be a little more patient and return when it has decreased. Alternatively, you can consult a trained financial expert for strategy.
Yes true, I have been in touch with a brokerage Advisor. With an initial starting reserve of $80k, my advisor chooses the entry and exit commands for my portfolio, which has grown to approximately $550k.
I’ve been looking to switch to an advisor for a while now. Any help pointing me to who your advisor is?
My CFA NICOLE ANASTASIA PLUMLEE a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further... She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market..
I searched for her full name online, found her page, and sent an email to schedule a meeting. Hopefully, she responds soon. Thank you
This broke my heart, may God Bless this young family 🙏🏾
"Sharon would have left, but she didn't have a car" LOL! Kid #4 on the way and he's only 24? And no $$$? Yikes!
I would pay bills in this order:
1. Mortgage
2. Electricity
3. Food
Getting food from the food pantry is not the end of the world.
These people crack me up. Don’t have a dime to there name but will keep popping out kids.
