A good primer would seal that stain from bleed through and allow the chalk paint to stay on that over lay. Not sure why you would use two different products.
It costs a fortune to buy mother of pearl furniture, she should sell it and buy another piece. It's almost immoral to paint over it!! To make a piece that beautiful would have taken an Asian artist hours, days to make. I would have kept the mother of pearl visible and painted a lighter colour around it so the shell didn't stand out so much. Such a shame. 😔
