I'm starting to think I'm going to go the same way with a truck camper. I have an offroad toy hauler pop-up camper trailer but I've run into problems in the past because truck and trailer I'm about 40ft long so I've been denied entry to some places before .
I found my camper by luck, facebook marketplace for $500. Its rundown a bit but does the job. Normally you can find them for $1000 to $10000 used. you got to have cash ready and check FB daily ready to pounce right away if one gets listed for sale. I was going to use a quick set up tent but luckily I found this camper first but tent camping is a good way just to get out there with more.

I drive past Lytle Creek on the I15 freeway every single day on the way to work and every summer there's a major fire there. Why?
Not sure, I haven't seen a fire there yet.

To this particular spot yes but we had a fire recently so hopefully the equipment didn't mess up the roads.
