Hi Charles, I'm a 70 year old expat living in Thailand who plays golf 3 days a week and apart from that, I've been trying to learn to paint for 4 months now. Couldn't paint a stick man...........and then, I found your video's. I'm excited again at the simplicity you bring to everything. Thank you.

I can't believe how much I've learned from this brief video! Thank you! I love watercolor. I've been painting my little heart out, going to a weekly class for the past six months and have not made much progress. After viewing this video, I'm marching right into my little studio and getting to work. You have reinvigorated my efforts with tangible instructions for a beginner. I'm happy! Claire

You have made me love watercolour painting, where once I hated it because I feared it, until I watched and listened to you on a Channel 4 programme back in the 1990’s. I bought your beautiful black paint box and the Sapphire Daley-Rowney brushes (that I still love using & in great condition) and have never looked back. Each morning I awake excited to pick up my Evans paintbox & brushes & the colours just roll of the brush but I still can not achieve the Loaves of Bread! just look nothing like! haha. Your tutorials encouraged me to start practicing watercolours. I am so greatfull! I also consider both your style of painting and your style of tutoring are the best in the web.
I now live in tropics with such a lush greenery and so contrast facture of the trees and bushes but it's so hard to paint them without skills! I found only one video with palm tree on your channel and there is almost nothing on youtube accept some discoloured asian style painting.
If you have any tips on painting casuarinas, banyans, traveller's tree, banana, coconut palm and other species of palms, pandanus, dipterocarps, teak, frangipany and Indian almond you can open us the whole world of tropical scenery.
Who else could I ask if not the greatest fan of mr. Hooker and his green!

BTW, the sunsets here where I live are extremely intense and vibrant and I have yet to see a painting close to it without looking unreal. Because its so amazing in reality. Some things one tries to paint that is real, just seems unreal.
