Great demonstration and painting. The shadows make the painting, in the right place it just makes the painting pop. Thanks for sharing Charles as I've learnt alot :)

I am going out and getting your books.....amazing that you make it seem so simple, but fun, fun, fun! I have just started to paint and really love the idea that you have shown so many easy and quick things to do to achieve what I thought would have taken years to learn....now that's a "teacher"......thanks so much. I do find it difficult to hear your commentary, so I watch your videos over and over.

I love watching your paintings happen so easily and so calmly. You are very talented. Love love them. But, could you please speak a little louder. I have very keen hearing & sometimes have a hard time hearing you. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge & love if paintings with us. Keep them coming. Especially the harbor & boats. Leigh

Brilliant _ you make painting so much fun, could listen to you for hours. ps. the oblique spare on the upper part of the mast is a "Gaff" it was common on old river boats as the gaff could be lowered and if necessary the main mast pivoted in order clear bridges - not possible with one tall mast. The 4 sided gaff rigged sail also provided more sail area and helped the boat sail closer to wind. A boom is the horizontal pole that supports the bottom of the main sail from the mast to the rear "clew" corner of the sail. "Ye can never wash the salt out of an old sea dog"

I just found your tutorials and subscribed. You name your colors as you use them. That is very important to me. I'm color blind and with your tutorials I don't have to guess what colors you use. You would be surprise how many artist don't share that information. Like its a great secret or something. Thank you for excellent explanations. You have won me over as a fan and user of Winsor Newton . Thanks again.

Your instruction is precise and detailed. You give the reason why you are doing something and illustrate clearly. I too shall look for your book. You do need a new sound system though for those of us who have limited hearing. English accents are not always easy to follow for Americans, but having hearing trouble just makes that more difficult. thank you so much for your lessons.
