Yeah great channel dude. I really missed Adler’s groove at the ‘reunion’ gig, yeah Frank is a great drummer but my head would of bounced more if Steve was banging it out.
I hated it when all the sudden GnR had a different drummer! They were my favorites and steven could have kept using or just gave up but he was strong. I was so in love with him..hes amazing❤❤❤
Steven was the happiness and the best smile of Guns’n’Roses , he had one of the best hair of that era together with Zakk Wylde when he just joined Ozzy. Steven is pure gold .... I do miss him in Guns’n’Roses
Got to meet Steven once before..Went to shake his hand,He was like ahhh Lets pass on the shake How bout a Hug!! Great Guy and we get to meet him again in Massachusetts soon
I'm actually glad that Steven has his own band now (Adler's Appetite). He's already a legend, now he deserves to kick back and play smaller shows just for the music, not for the money. Having smaller shows also means he can interact with the fans more, and play more without having to worry about the stresses of long-distance touring. He's earned it.
I love how humble he has always been. Obviously he made huge mistakes and is even lucky to be alive, but he played on arguably the greatest album in history and he's still a cool guy
My favorite televised live performance GNR ever did was Live at the Ritz which is one they did really, really early on in their careers. Steven Adler plays there, too. And he's just got the biggest smile on his face the whole time, he's a really fun drummer to watch because he is clearly having so much fun when he plays. I guess the only reason they fired him was the drugs. Hard to tour I would think when you've got a problem like that.
All due respect to Axl, but fucken get rid of Frank Ferrer the dude rushes through the songs like he’s rushing for his paycheck. Get Steven back please easily the most underrated drummer ever
From what I’ve seen (at least in live shows in the 80s) Steven takes a few seconds to into the beat of the song and starts off too fast but give him 5 seconds and he is amazing

Cosmic Bro I understand Stevens personally is like that. I don't even remember what this interview was. The whole thing is that, Steven claims sobriety when he's not sober. He knows better than this and he knows there's people out there who KNOW when he's sober and when he isn't. So, when he claims sobriety when he's not, he makes himself look like a complete asshole to a lot of people.
If you've never seen it go watch the Live at the Rittz Live Concert. They were all on FIRE that night. Absolute fire, and in the early parts of their career with all the original members including Steven Adler. They were all on fire, but for me personally you know who stood out the most? Steven Adler, who is just smiling the entire time, rocking the hell out of the drums of course but also apparently having the time of his life. You can't help but be happy watching him, that's what made him so special, and I guess it's that sort of limitless optimism that explains why he's still smiling and having fun to this very day. He survived not only chronic drug addiction and substance abuse in general but also a stroke. He's STILL smiling. That makes me feel more inclined to smile myself and that's why I love him so much as one of my favorite GNR members, certainly my favorite drummer of theirs.
Are you suggesting Steven Adler is a nobody? lol if so I think there's probably a lot of things Steven Adler is but a nobody is definitely not one of them. That usually becomes a logical falsehood when millions of people know your name. Across a lot of ages. He may not be with the band anymore but a nobody he is not.
I fucking love this guy. He's so fun, he's like a little kid. No wonder Duff said when he met him and Slash that night Steven had a child like enthusiasm about him. "We're gonna be great, we're gonna get their hands clapping, and their feet stomping." God, I wish he'd get back in the band.

Steven looks like he has accepted his addictions and has mellowed. He really has come far, he should be proud of himself. He's accomplished something some never had. Kudos Steven

I'm not saying he was the only one doing drugs. I'm just pointing out similarities between the two and how they didn't let their addictions kills them.
Dude, Steve Adler and Ozzy need to play together! Man used to love watching GNR at The Ritz, still watch from time to time, keep Rockin' Steve! All the best, DC
Even when he bad mouthed Axl Rose ( bc he deserved it) for not doing the show for the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, it was mild and he said the he felt blessed and grateful to have known him for that part of his life (something more or less like that) and ended it with "God bless him"....that has to be the nicest way any band member has bad mouthed another, and in reality, Axl deserved it for not showing up. Just as Adler said, it wasn't about them that night, it was about the fans and showing gratitude for being inducted, and Axl didn't care.
SLURRING CAUSED by the stroke, his brain has healed , any medical DR WILL TELL YOU your brain is one of the major organs that can heal itself , in Stevens case it took about 3 yrs
idk if it's because I've watched a billion arctic monkeys interviews and I try really hard to understand what they're saying with tha' fooking a'cent but??? To me there's nothing wrong??? With his speech??????
I'm glad Steven seems to be doing okay. He seems like such a nice and down to earth guy. I just want him to keep working toward new goals and having success because it is rare someone deserves success based on their attitude as well as their talent. Not to mention he really has seemed to have turned things around for himself. Best wishes and God Bless Steven!
I never thought he'd be alive today. That is awesome he came through the addiction. He was a baaaad addict and was rough for awhile. Kudos to him. He looks great
Adler and Joe Walsh should post a one on one interview with each other. If it ever happens in my lifetime, I would personally hit it at least a million times.
His drumming and personality are one and the same. Lively, bubbly, optimistic. All round just cool. One of my favourite drummers of all time. Good to see him in better shape than that of the past. He should definitely be in Guns N' Roses again.
I met Steve at a small club show his band played probably about 12 years ago (can't exactly remember lol). He acted like he knew us and gave me a hug, started chatting with us. He had a 'handler' or 1 to 1 staff with him as well kinda holding on to him.
Amazing how Steven loves a mic and saying whatever comes to mind! Such wonderful feature man! This interviewer looks so damn pissed for being interrupted all the time. 😄
I think this dude provided the fun element to playing in the band. I could tell when he stepped onstage with Duff and Slash in 2019 they were kinda horsing around. Izzy the creative force. They need those guys back. They can still have fun without all those drugs. If you cant be a goofball while jamming then you find something to be pissed about.
Nicest guy ever! He called me a crazy diamond because he couldn’t remember my name... surprised me with singing some music for me( I didn’t ask) where he signed keep shining you crazy diamond...

Gosh, I love Steven! He was an integral part of the GnR sound! Love Matt Sorum too, but Steven's licks on the kit and classic wrist flick during symbol crashes was so cool. It's sad what happened to him, because addiction is such a devastating illness. I am a recovering alcoholic and opiate/opioid addict, so I feel the pain of what these guys go through, and I can only imagine how much more difficult it would be to maintain one's composure (or keep their proverbial shit together) while touring with a major rock band. I've seen some great comments down below. And several are spot on. My suggestion would be to never ever experiment recreationally with any opiates/opioids whatsoever. It's not just heroin. It has the nastiest rep, but they are all very addictive, and some like fentanyl really push the risk factor to a whole new level as far as overdose is concerned. You never know if you're the individual who tries it once once and is hooked. The great misconception is that physical dependency and addiction are one and the same, which is simply not true. Anyone can become physically dependent on opiates (arthritis patients are a perfect example) through the process of up-regulation of opioid receptor sites, but not everyone goes on to be a full-blown addict. Addiction is a psychological condition in which one has a predisposition to become psychologically obsessed and emotionally dependent on a given drug due to neurological and brain chemical abnormalities. No one really knows for sure how it happens. Hell, it could very well be unique to each individual, but the point is, the addict will reach a point where they need the drug for emotional survival/ to cope with life. It's sad and terrifying at the same time. It rips families and societies apart, and it destroys one's financial stability and reduces them to a shell of a human being.
Taylor St. John has made an excellent point in this thread where so many offer opinions regarding drug abuse, dependence and addiction. There are so many definitions of the word “addiction” and the commenter made a spot on expression of a particularly unique and valid one. Dependence, tolerance and addiction are not synonymous. We know more about brain 🧠 science, psychopharmacology etc. and at this point the conclusions are very very clear-we don’t know what “causes” addiction (dependence, tolerance etc are absolutely highly correlated but even concepts like “genetic predisposition to addiction” are outdated and unsubstantiated speculation). Please-Avoid drugs of abuse because no one is an addict until it’s years and years later and the individual has awareness of the disease, hell and havoc it’s sown in the lives of himself and others (especially those who give a shit about you). Addiction is the great equalizer: it destroys the lives of the diseased. Insta-famous, rich, poor, highly educated, illiterate, young, old, holding down great jobs, jobless, criminal, law-abiding, great childhood, the abused and traumatized, intelligent or low IQ, prostitution, integrity, trap rap fans, gospel choir members...have I forced the point?). An “addict” w/ dreams of escaping enslavement can only take responsibility for the singular aspect of addiction he or she is responsible for-working hard (w/ professional and/or spiritual guidance) to sustain and thrive w/ the disease).
Steven was the guy who understood that the fans were the reason they were Stars. He did meet and greets with a smile. He got knocked for for his enthusiasm and friendlynes. The GnR camp saw him as a pain in the ass for that.
"Dropping? I've been hanging out for hours, what the fuck you think... talking .. about, dropping." LOL I love this guy, I've been meaning to read his biography.
Steven is such a sweetheart with a heart of gold. He might've made some mistakes a long time ago, but he's only human.

It’s impossible to hate this man. Killer drummer with a heart of gold.

Totally, that show epitomizes vintage Guns N Roses!
voteZDLR it's a pretty good performance to watch. It's just a shame that they are so off their tits that the playing is pretty damn sloppy!
So true. Adler's smile and optimism is infectious!
He should be in GnR full time
EET FUK I've seen you on loads of videos.

Shane Kemp hes not on anything anymore he’s clean he talks the way he does Bc he had a stroke

I love his smile around 5:25 when he finishes saying that he wants to chill with his dog and smoke
Adler is such a great guy! His energy mirrors my excitement when I was listening to these guys play in my early teens.

I always felt that Adler’s raw drumming on Appetite was captured brilliantly. But he’s the poster boy of what not to do with fame.

Steve was doing drugs before GNR got "big" though.
he had a rough childhood, i think that was probably the main reason

Stevennnn! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steven was the guy who understood that the fans were the reason they were Stars. He did meet and greets with a smile. He got knocked for for his enthusiasm and friendlynes. The GnR camp saw him as a pain in the ass for that.
