copper helps retard mold growth so sticking a couple of pennies under the sponge will prevent mold growth. Copper is used as a treatment in aquariums for mold infections for fish.

One of the reached stretch goals is a low profile small copper sheet aswell.

They have updated the included paper to have improved moisture regulation, so that weak point in the review might have gotten better.

An old penny (older ones, pre 80s, have more copper) under the sponge has kept mold out of my wet palette for a few years or almost daily use. I am in swampy ass NC too.
The leak proofing is the most compelling element to this palette over any other.

AK Interactive has a wet pallet with a rubber seal. But it is close to half the size of this one.

One year, two months and counting since my order. Still no sign of my Redgrass Wet Palette v2. This is starting to feel like a Star Citizen pledge. Maybe I should just get this instead.😓😡

I prefer the Games Workshop wet pallet. It is smal enough to fit my painting station snig and tightly and it comes with a bonus. For some reason they fill it with static grass....wierd, but ok ^^

While it is cheaper than the Redgrass Wet Palette 2 (their kickstarter is over. They plan on delivering next month), I wouldn't consider the casket and compartment that big of an innovation. The TPE seal of the original Redgrass Wet Palette was watertight as well - at least for the amount of water that should be present in your wet palette - and you can transport your brushes and so on in a gazillion different ways, too. Concerning the actual use of a wet palette, though, the Redgrass Wet Palette 2 now comes with reusable membranes. I'd call that innovation... You can easily wash them 5 or 6 times and still use them as if they were new. This reduces waste and makes re-stocking much cheaper, because with 30 sheets you actually get the same usage as if you bought 150 to 180 sheets.
Not trying to yuck anybody's yum here. The Exemplar Wet Palette looks well built and that for a great price, but I wouldn't push minor modifications as big innovations here. Obviously, as a pro-tip for the community: Just buy the Exemplar and get the Redgrass reusable membranes! Their new wet palette seems to be almost the same dimensions (9.44 by 6.5 inch) so you get the best of both worlds!

I seriously doubt that Redgrass is going to be delivering their updated palette in October. The pledge manager hasn't even opened yet (scheduled for mid-September), and the latest updates are that they are refining the injection molds for the case now. I think the October 2021 date was overly optimistic to begin with.

@@bluesman99999 You're right. I just took a look at their Kickstarter before I posted this. Haven't followed their updates since it ended (I haven't backed it, either. I rather pay a bit more and know what a product can do after it was in the hands of reviewers. I was burned by RagingHeroes WarStages... which STILL hasn't delivered to all backers)

I can't see me ever needing or wanting a wet pallet, I have never been in a situation where the amount of paint i am useing I don't mind wasteing. Perhaps if I was a pro painter I may use one but even then most likely NOT, how much paint dose it save from being wasted over the cost of a wet pallet ? Thanks for posting, c u in the next one.

It's no high bar to beat Redgrass lol, I bought Redgrass to replace my DIY parchament over utility sponge in an old blister pack of grass tufts, and Redgrass was worse in every way including, astonishingly, the box seal. Pure garbage.
