I know the feeling well. Stroke survivor here and it affected my left side and dominate hand so really had to relearn how to paint again these last 5 years.
I was sent three paints, unfortunately all super dark so we couldn't really try them out. But I'm honestly quite excited as a complement to other stuff.
We did our best to communicate with everyone we sent samples to that this was a very limited sample set. We have much more coming, but we were bursting at the seems and were excited to get these initial colours in your hands to test consistency and saturation. We hope you enjoy it and stay tuned for more colours coming your way soon!
@@spikeybitstv I mean at this point its kind of a bummer you get the most paints, more colors than anyone else, and done the least with them to show them off. Watch It Paint It has done like 4-5 videos testing different things but they only have 3 fairly dark colors
Contrast paint tip- I have gotten an AWESOME non metallic gold look with a khaki base coat and a deep yellow contrast paint, then followed up by a pale highlight on the edges. It isn't perfect, but for a quick and dirty NMM method it works great! Cannot wait to try it out with these!
As someone who loves using contrast paints as "toolkit pieces", I'm excited to pick these up to see what I can do with em. These seem a lot better controled than contrast, but contrast has a different feel in the shading colours for the better colours it seems, so I think there is value in both.
@@squirtleninja That's the entire reason I bought about half of them. A few are definitely good in their own right (Snakebite leather and Militarum Green to be honest are must haves) but so many of the darker colours have horribly patchy results that they're better for shading only
Really glad I held off on buying GW's Contrast line. I use AP pretty much 99.9% of the time so I'm really happy they're releasing this line. I look forward to getting the big box collection of Speedpaints.
i'm the same and i was about to break my "never buy from over-priced Citadel" not-quite-a-vow to pick up a few Contrast. Guess I'll remain unsullied :D
I got a few and wasn't too impressed. The variability in coverage makes them hard to work with. And the price....really looking forward to switching to AP.
I have watched this video a number of times, due to my interest in Speed Paint. It has dawned on me that a lot of what this guy says is basically gibberish.
really excited to see this. love army painter, theyre my go to brand for miniature paints. their pricing is so much better than gw and other competitors, not to mention the droppers vs the pots. the one thing i will say about army painter is that they NEED agitators. really looking forward to getting these speedpaints and trying them out.
Coverage looks really good compared to (most) contrast paints. A lot of the contrast paints feel like they need multiple slightly thinned coats to really bring out the base colour, but these seem to give really good volume and vibrancy in one cost. Very interesting addition to the hobby.
One idea I had for a force was a Paranoia inspired Guard force, using the Cannon Fodder models from Wargames Atlantic. The various kinds of units would be color coded in the classic Paranoia style (Conscripts are Red clearance, Infantry are Orange clearance, on up to Blue as Company Commanders). A Contrast-style paint would make this sort of scheme much easier to paint, as I could just slather it all over their jumpsuits and be done with it. I'm glad to know that between this and Warcolours's Antithesis paints, I have a lot more options. I don't need to pay GW's extortionist prices.
@@housecaldwell I came up with a whole backstory for the force (what I call the Paranoian Troubleshooters). Cloned citizens of an arcology run by an insane AI, on a planet on the edge of Imperium space. Is allowed to operate as it pleases, because the imperial tithe of raw materials, exotic finished goods, and cloned human slaves are just too important out on the periphery of the Imperium to be worth investigating. Except members of AdMech, who are very interested in the supposed presence of an Abominable Intelligence. If this were a Paranoia game, the PCs would get contacted by AdMech spies, trying to get them to betray the Computer. Their forces - the aforementioned Paranoian Troubleshooters - would engage in battles on their planet, or be shipped off to fight the Imperium's wars. Whichever seemed like the most convenient narrative for the battle at the time. A variant idea, good for Narrative/Crusade play, would be to say that every 109 years, the Computer obeys ancient programming by building an exact copy of an ancient starship, staff it with cloned and memory implanted crew copied from ancient records, and blast them off into space according to an ancient coordinates. Directions that are millennia out of date, and didn't take Warp instability into account. So you just have hundreds of copies of this same ship, with copies of the same crew, blindly shot into the galaxy, over and over and over. Each believing they were the originals, doomed to either die/disappear, or best left to wander space haphazardly. All while a copy of the Computer on their ship tries to be helpful, and only somewhat succeeds. Paranoia meets Lost In Space.
Holy hell... those results look AMAZING for time spent. I was all in on these already, but it's so great to see that they really provide these kinds of results in a short time. Thanks Rob!
Not being a "War Games" / "Minitures" painter BUT 1/32 Slot-car Human Figure painter, I liked the Contrast paint's.... Yes there's problem's to them and it sound's like these have "ironed out" those niggle's. Would love to see example's of Human Face's painted as I'm 73, shake like a leaf and Eye's, etc. and impossible for me to paint. I did buy some Warhammer figure's to paint and found them easier than the larger 1/32 figure's, which amazed me.... Much more detail on smaller object's, helped. Alway's like your video's..... Your voice is easier to listen too, as well. Which make's them so much better.
Warhipster painted a Space Marine i don't know the proper name for it, one of those large robot looking things, all via paint brush with contrast paints and it looked quite nice. He paints his figures slow and he gets the nicest results out of anybody who uses contrast paints. No pooling or coffee staining. Absolute perfect paint jobs.
Just a friendly reminder that Secret Weapon Miniatures did this like a decade before everyone else. Justin and his company are amazing, and they don't get the recognition they deserve. And now, sadly, they are closing their doors. Which is a massive shame.
The Secret Weapon washes were amazing. As a rank amateur, I'm so happy I have mine. I hope Secret Weapon find a way to reopen and provide more amazing product like those.
Accidently stumbled onto you just a few minutes ago. Great stuff. I am glad i did not invest in "Contrast". I have loved AP for a long time. So much so that I almost use them exclusively. So excited for this new product!
Great video, Rob! I went all in with Contrast paints because I wanted to be able to speed paint a lot of my board game minis. They...didn't really do exactly what I wanted. I guess I should give them another go until these come out...I have so many of them. Will definitely pick these up, though.
I’m definitely interested in giving these a try as I really like contrast paint but I also really really like bottle dropper style bottles more than the GW pots.
Looks interesting. Another tool to spend money on and paly with. Since contrast paints take so long to dry they are quite good for wet blending. Admittedly, most of my paints are still Vallejo.
Maybe i missed it but I didn't see where you actually explained what you used to stop reactivation. Could you elaborate please? That seems to be the biggest issue people find with these speedpaints. Great video!
uh well, I didnt stop reactivation, because I didnt even know it was a thing... because I painted them in one coat and was done, like the instructions say to do.
@@spikeybitstv lol. ok that all makes sense now. although others have had issues with reactivation. ruclips.net/video/tmG0uzOkUAA/видео.html is one example.
When they're released I'll try them. I won't be looking at them as replacements for other paints, but as another tool on the bench. All paints are tools, useful for some jobs, less useful for others things.
Holy hell. Thanks as always for the review, Rob! I will definitely be experimenting with these guys. Keep up the good work! You've a true gift to this community, bud.
Answered all my questions! Excellent Video ... gotta line up for that pre order...Let's hope the rest of the range is as good as the once you've tested.
Thanks for the review. I am getting into MCP and this method and your results seem amazing. Can you tell me how you prepped wolverine? What wash did you use?
I need these out now. XD These look so good! I've been enjoying contrast, but this is just the next step and man do I want that! Between that and contrast, I'm going to greatly like those. Blood Angel Red contrast was great for Carnage, but that red looks a bit bright, but definitely a good choice for Deadpool! I still need to get a Deadpool, and a Wolverine+Sabertooth for my X-force squad.
While the GW "contrast spray paints" aren't necessary for using contrast paints, I feel like wraithbone is a much better spray than corax white. Much less chalky and just off-white enough to drybrush pure white on top and still see results.
I love contrast paints and this ones will not be a replacement for them, but there may be some color tones Contrast don't deliver, so filling up the range can be a good idea 😊
Disappointed you didnt try out the purple in the video, would have loved to have seen how that one works out, seeing it on the owl miniature at the start of the video it does look like a colour I want to use for my Dark Eldar army.
I’ve often wondered, in the case of historical minis where the colors need to be specific, can you mix these paints to create different shades? Like a field gray for German jackets, and a lighter gray for their pants etc?
You can mix contrast colors, they are fairly transparent though. If you're aiming for a lighter gray, sometimes adding some of the medium is the way to go. GW's Basilicanum Grey is a basic gray color, but Gryphcharger Grey has a slight green tint and Space Wolves Grey has a fairly blue tint.
For adding the matte coat, I would do that when I am done a miniature. Any tips on which matte coat, before wash coat, after...what tips do you recommentd?
From watching this and other videos on the speedpaints they seem to have been designed for Fantasy/sci-fi figures I wonder how they would work on historical figures.
@Spikey Bits would you say you could not have done that Deadpool at all with contrast or that it would take more time? What's the takeaway in the comparison?
We already know that army painter paints have bad coverage, so I guess they would be perfect for making translucent paints. Contrast paint in a dropper bottle is already a great sales argument.
@@spikeybitstv I have tried the thing that is written on their website, to first squeeze out the transparent goop and then shake the paint vigorously for 15 minutes. However, only the matt black, dragon red, and ash grey have worked great for me. All the other army painter paints I have have covered very very poorly.
@@Xaltotun wait, what. You’re supposed to squeeze stuff out of the bottle? I’ve always heard AP had bad coverage. Would love to see Spikey Bits or Goobertown cover how to use them properly.
@@MasterShake9000 I think I read the "how to use" on one of the pamphlets that come with their paints or something. You are supposed to first squeeze out the clear stuff at the top (medium that is out there to keep the paint better through shipping and potentially standing in a store a while) and then put 2 small pebbles or other shaking balls in the bottle. Then shake the paint like a madman for a little while, and then it's ready. The people who have made the paints work great consistently typically have a vortex mixer that I think you can get cheaply for like 20$ or something. Luke's aps (geek gaming scenics) has a video where he talks about how to get army painter paints working well. The paint from them I use the most is the metal paints, as I think they make the best metal paint for drybrushing.
Best review of these, out there. I'm sold. I wasn't a fan of Contrast Painted MCP minis, but these look like they provide a much nicer finish. Thanks Rob!
@@ericclement1598 No do not mix up my words. They are 100%, not glazes. You can paint a model over a white basecoat. But if you do white and black it creates depth for you to use to pop your paint job, even more, Just watch the video I show both types of models painted.
@@spikeybitstv no no I understand. Loved the video. I just meant if once you had done the base with the speed paint but then felt like bumping up a highlight here and there you could by the same method as adding some highlight then toning it back using the speed paint in a similar way to a glaze. In any case loved the video and great job going through the strengths
if you are trying layer up to say a green on orks but wanted to say start with red base coat, then yellow over that then green, would using a wash or contrast or speed paint work best? so the higher parts of say the arms are light green and muscle lines are dark green with a bit of transition between the two
These look awesome. I'll talk to my LGS and request he stock them when they come out. Side note: you mentioned you already had an easy/quick way to paint Custodes. Could you point me to that video? I'm about to paint up some Custodians myself and I'd love more tips.
I mainly paint 15mm historicals with an army painter white undercoat. I then paint the main coat colour, say a red coat for British Napoleonic for example. As it is the first colour to go on, I tend to be a bit liberal with where the paint goes and therefore not worry too much if this colour slips onto other parts of the figure which will not be ultermately be red because I will paint over it with the correct colour at a later stage. This is possible because the other paints are the regular army painter or vallejo colours. However, with these Speed Paints it seems that they are much thinner and will only perhaps work if the undercoat is white? Hence, for them to work, will I have to go back over the areas I spilled over with the red in the example above, with white again, in order for the Speed paints to be effective? If this is the case then, it ends up taking longer. At present using the regular paints I wash the figures at the end with army painter strong tone and that provides the contrast.
Hmmm good question, so like you can see on the Sylvaneth figure I just added blue over whatever color was there for the cloth and it kinda turned it green. So you can, but just keep in mind there will be a "blend" like yellow + blue sorta makes green prnt.sc/1xywwqw (screenshot) but also you can go back over in white and fix it faster than with contrast as this seems to dry WAY faster.
Have you had issues when applying varnish over the speedpaints? I waited for my dark wood to dry overnight but it seemed to smudge off in certain areas when I was applying the varnish (army painter as well). Thanks for this review!
Thank you so much for doing this video! I'm a fan of the contrast paints but like you said they are really pricey! I'll have to check these out for sure. My next question is how do you like the Marvel minis? I primarily work with star wars Legion and DND minis but the wolverine you showed looked really cool and very detailed.
How is this different than thinning your own paints with acrylic medium and flow-aid? Is it worth buying this if you already can thin your Army Painter colors?
I can't get High-Lord blue to work. It's just super streaky with dark spots in random places. It feels thicker than any other speedpaints I've used so far
interesting video. Could you do a comparison between contrast and speedpaint on the same type of model? I've seen one video already that seems to show a grainy look to speedpaint that contrast doesn't have.
They look like slightly different colours to contrast ! I wonder if there’s another chemical added to help the drying process! Hmmm I don’t think they replace contrast for me because contrast have been designed to complement the gw standard line of paints… I will buy them to add to my collection tho as more paints that work like contrast are needed
when i first started painting less than a year ago i tried out some Army Painter paints because i was into Warlordgames WWII miniatures. I watched some Pete the wargamer videos and i liked the results he was getting. I ended up purchasing about 8 AP paints for US GI's. They were garbage. They just had poor coverage. I emailed AP and they told me to take the nozzle/dropper top off and to use a stir stick to stir the paints. I did this and it did help, but they were still terrible compared to Vallejo. Where i live the AP's actually cost more than the Vallejo's or are the same price. It's all a matter of a few cents not much. The only good product AP has made was their stainless steel mixing balls which are non ferrous. It's mind boggling why anybody would go with AP when Vallejo or AK are such better paints. They cover better and they all have a huge selection of over 200 colors, even more if one was to include the Panzer Aces or Figure paint lines. Oh yes and the Scale75 original paints are complete garbage too. Covered poorly and left brush strokes like that's what they were meant to do. No lie, i ended up throwing out the AP paints and two sets of the Scale75's. I have heard their Artist line is proper though.
I have to agree. The AP spray cans are reasonable but the eye dropper bottles are no where near VMC or even Game Colour quality. I’m not sure the colours on show here are really suited to military subjects and camouflage schemes. Probably ok for Napoleonics.
@@samb2052 vallejo model/panzer aces are good but i ended up packing 80 colors into a shoebox and replacing them with AK 3rd generation paints from their main line of 236 paints and from their new Figure line of 40 paints. They're consistent, where all the paints mix the same. With vallejo's the darker colors move like Nutella hazelnut spread and the lighter colors move like Fanta soda. AK they're all smooth. Vallejo are satin and when thinned with water go glossy, AK dry matt. When Vallejo is placed on a dry palette in drop form and left to dry, the paint drop will reflect light from above such as a veiling light, etc... Also their quality control is poor, Vallejo colors don't always match. a yellow today will be a different hue of yellow in another batch. I found this post as an example reddit.com/r/minipainting/comments/9rujdi/can_i_have_some_goddamn_consistency_vallejo/
I immediately transferred all my contrast paints into dropper bottles as soon as I got them. They're too expensive to risk bumping the pot and spilling everywhere.
@@rdubayoo I just 3D printed up a holder for the citadel paint pots. Holds three at a time and works like a dream…never even have come close to spilling any, even when bumped. I really prefer the contrast type paints and washes in the pots. Very little waste. I may pick some of these up, but I’ve gotten great results from just contrast paints and an oil wash.

I was sent 3 as well and it's an odd mix of three colors. I haven't delved into checking them out just yet, but excited to!
Watch it paint it received same 3 dark colors too
We did our best to communicate with everyone we sent samples to that this was a very limited sample set. We have much more coming, but we were bursting at the seems and were excited to get these initial colours in your hands to test consistency and saturation. We hope you enjoy it and stay tuned for more colours coming your way soon!
You got Adam's allotment...and he's very upset about it still.
Jeeesh it’s tough out there. 😅
Could you sent Squidmar more speed paint color varieties for a video review? will love to see that
Or send free stuff to people who actually USE them. Crazy, but just a thought
@@adamfox1669 Definitely didn't use them here, nope nothing to see here lol.
My thoughts exactly. I use contrast as glazes and panel lining as much as thier intended use, and im hoping these open up even more windows!
Guess I'll remain unsullied :D
lol. victory.
This is the second video I see dedicated to these paints. The intrigue is growing more and more! :)
Glad you like them!

Thanks Brent.
That's a really neat idea -- love Paranoia.
@@Bluecho4 I would definitely play Lost in Space Paranoia! I love that idea -- that could be the seed for a novel!
Holy hell... those results look AMAZING for time spent. I was all in on these already, but it's so great to see that they really provide these kinds of results in a short time. Thanks Rob!
That camo green looks perfect for some of my bolt action minis
yup!
PLEASE do a video on the drybrushing/washing technique you did on that wolverine!!
definitely
@@spikeybitstv I am also dying to know :O
Just a friendly reminder that Secret Weapon Miniatures did this like a decade before everyone else. Justin and his company are amazing, and they don't get the recognition they deserve. And now, sadly, they are closing their doors. Which is a massive shame.
I love the secret weapon washes, I'll definitely be thinking about them when I get a chance to test these army painter speedpaints!
Lots of companies bad these in the past, they are heavily inked mediums mostly.
The Secret Weapon washes were amazing. As a rank amateur, I'm so happy I have mine. I hope Secret Weapon find a way to reopen and provide more amazing product like those.
Looks cool with the preshade.
I was only lukewarm on contrast paint, from hearing all those rumors of inconsistency, but these speed paints look like the real deal.
I haven't tried contrast paints, but I will be trying these. I love Army Painter's stuff!
Accidently stumbled onto you just a few minutes ago. Great stuff. I am glad i did not invest in "Contrast". I have loved AP for a long time. So much so that I almost use them exclusively. So excited for this new product!
I'm genuinely excited about this paint line. So far I have seen some great reviews, this vid doesn't disappoint either.
Will definitely be buying the full set of these when they are available
Nice! I really wanted to pick up some contrast paints but was really turned off by the price and the stupid pots. Thank you army painter!
Man, I want that Wolverine mini just with the Zenithal and the white edge highlighting :) Thanks for the video!
This and their Airbrush paints may get me back into making miniatures.
The army painter white handle brushes are real sable and are excellent. Their Masterclass is Kolinsky sable and is among the best brushes out there.
I've been told that. My mistake :)
I wish these were coming out sooner. The date estimated right now is February 2022 for retailers.
No sure yet, fingers crossed sooner?
Oh man, I was just about to call my local game store.
When they're released I'll try them. I won't be looking at them as replacements for other paints, but as another tool on the bench. All paints are tools, useful for some jobs, less useful for others things.
Any chance you can go over your under painting technique? That Wolverine really pops in just grayscale.
Came back to this video just to make this comment. Would love to see a video on value painting a mini like that.
Same!
Wow, will probably use this for the Ork army I dream of making one day
Fingers crossed!
Let's talk about the fact this man airbrushes at 40psi because that's fucking wild
just blasting that paint at mach 3
what is the matte coat you keep talking about? do you need an airbrush for it, or is it just a rattle can?
The ONLY problem I have with these is ….February 2022?! Isn’t that going to miss the amazing Christmas marketing opportunity?
Thanks for the review. I am getting into MCP and this method and your results seem amazing. Can you tell me how you prepped wolverine? What wash did you use?
That wolverine looked cool af with just the prime highlight and black wash
True it kinda does 😉
Do you have a video on the dry brushing technique you use to prime the minis - looks really good!
Really excited for these, thinking about saving up for a whole set.
Great video. Can you do a video showing how you prepped that wolverine mini for painting?
Yes, soon
It's interesting that you keep mentioning painting over matt sealer. With contrasts I kind of liked painting over Gloss Nuln Oil. Looks good though.
True but if you add even a little bit of thinner you can run the risk of tearing off your paint underneath:(
Have you tried layering the different colours or would it get very muddy tones very quickly
These are looking good.
Disappointed you didnt try out the purple in the video, would have loved to have seen how that one works out, seeing it on the owl miniature at the start of the video it does look like a colour I want to use for my Dark Eldar army.
Fair enough!
Vallejo spry primer works so good with the contrast its 11 bucks at my local game store so I'm thinking its the same at other stores
It's about time for a contrast paint alternative! Can't wait
Omg model looks so good. Would need to maybe mix the colours to get more choice of colours
Good idea!
@@popburnsy3207 true some have different color properties like that etc.
A very helpful video, thanks. Did you try mixing them?
For adding the matte coat, I would do that when I am done a miniature. Any tips on which matte coat, before wash coat, after...what tips do you recommentd?
From watching this and other videos on the speedpaints they seem to have been designed for Fantasy/sci-fi figures I wonder how they would work on historical figures.
no reason they would not work just as good :)
Would love to see the others test painted, more so the purple (that looks pink) and the skin one
its more of a magenta
the skin is legit. I show it on the revenant.
Army painter paints don’t have bad coverage unless you don’t shake them 😂
@@spikeybitstv Or know how to use them.
Thanks Rob!
"I'm an adult and put stuff in my mouth but whatever." ...subbed. I also ordered the set.
Hello great vid ! I will def try them paints out ! Btw. I wanted to ask, whats the lamp You are using ? Is it a 24W LED ?
If they are priced well, I'm in. I've enjoyed the handful of contrast paints I have, but the GW paint prices are just too much for me to go all in.
Fair enough!
So theoretically you could lay down your paint scheme, add a matte varnish then go add some highlights varnish that and then go “glaze” with it?
yep
well you dont even need to use the colors just use white or grey then 'glaze' with the speedpaint color of choice.
@@spikeybitstv so basically these are the glazes
@@ericclement1598 No do not mix up my words. They are 100%, not glazes. You can paint a model over a white basecoat. But if you do white and black it creates depth for you to use to pop your paint job, even more, Just watch the video I show both types of models painted.
@@spikeybitstv no no I understand. Loved the video. I just meant if once you had done the base with the speed paint but then felt like bumping up a highlight here and there you could by the same method as adding some highlight then toning it back using the speed paint in a similar way to a glaze. In any case loved the video and great job going through the strengths
if you are trying layer up to say a green on orks but wanted to say
start with red base coat, then yellow over that then green, would using a
wash or contrast or speed paint work best? so the higher parts of say the arms
are light green and muscle lines are dark green with a bit of transition
between the two
You talked about the pre-shading a bit in the video and I do not know what that is. What is the technique used to accomplish this?
These look awesome. I'll talk to my LGS and request he stock them when they come out. Side note: you mentioned you already had an easy/quick way to paint Custodes. Could you point me to that video? I'm about to paint up some Custodians myself and I'd love more tips.
Yes I do. here ya go spikeybits.com/2018/12/an-easy-recipe-to-paint-gold-that-standouts-from-the-rest.html its not a video though sorry
@@spikeybitstv Thanks a bunch. Very timely for my project.
Wow that works way better than contrast
Have you had issues when applying varnish over the speedpaints? I waited for my dark wood to dry overnight but it seemed to smudge off in certain areas when I was applying the varnish (army painter as well). Thanks for this review!
I had no issues, but I used a spray varnish, and would suggest that or an airbrush varnish/clearcoat!
Rotmader sable is natural, and that's what the white handled army painter brushes are made from.
What brush do you use to get such precise dry brush highlighting on your zenethal method?
Hey man, you mentioned in the video that you have a way to paint Custodes with bronzes and golds. Did you ever make a tutorial for that?
Speed paint also great for blending when paired with regular acrylics.
Great tip!
You could probably use that red over either shinning silver or gun metal and get the perfect metallic candy apple red for Ironman.
When will these be available?
"A figure I could paint with the colors I have."
As he's using red... is it Deadpool?
€dit: Of course it's Deadpool. ^^
Do you have a video about the pre shading?
How is this different than thinning your own paints with acrylic medium and flow-aid? Is it worth buying this if you already can thin your Army Painter colors?
This is definitely a different additive that I'm not 100% sure what it is.
Any idea when these paints hit the shelves, thankyou...
is there a video of you painting that wolverine?
I think this is just what my orks need. Thanks!
do you have a preshading tutorial?
Do you happen to have a tutorial for how to do that preshading?
Can you paint it over regular paints?
I can't get High-Lord blue to work. It's just super streaky with dark spots in random places. It feels thicker than any other speedpaints I've used so far
interesting video. Could you do a comparison between contrast and speedpaint on the same type of model? I've seen one video already that seems to show a grainy look to speedpaint that contrast doesn't have.
When are these going to be available for purchase? I'm hyped :)
hello, quick question : what will be the price for those compare to citadel contrast ?
cheers
If they're good quality, Ill get them instead of the contrast range, as I dont support GW anymore
They are the best quality
They look like slightly different colours to contrast ! I wonder if there’s another chemical added to help the drying process! Hmmm I don’t think they replace contrast for me because contrast have been designed to complement the gw standard line of paints… I will buy them to add to my collection tho as more paints that work like contrast are needed
Just a good excuse for me to buy more paint 😊
What does the "sand" one look like over metallics? Does it give a rich gold akin to nazdreg yellow contrast, or does it just look weird?
when i first started painting less than a year ago i tried out some Army Painter paints because i was into Warlordgames WWII miniatures.
Do you like the dropper bottle for speed paint? Kinda hard to gauge how much you need vs the pot with “contrast”
Oh man its divine.
