You have grown so much since go became full time with NB. Your increased confidence and strength have given you a glow; and I don't mean a glow from that fresh Swiss mountain air! 😂😉 You're killing it Phily! #Lovethegrind
Ah thank you so much this is so lovely to read 🥰
The way you communicate and your sense of humor are phenomenal!
you should all go out and get a rösti / fondue / cordon bleu!
I love learning more about the training you're doing! It's fantastic to see how much more comfortable the start of this altitude training block seems to be compared to Flagstaff!
Thanks Andrew, and yeah couldn’t agree more, I’m growing into this life!
IMHO going full time as a runner has visibly improved your overall health. Probably thanks to the nutritionist and coaches.
Keep up the good work.
Nice having you in Switzerland! I hope you'll enjoy our country, beside training ;) Keep up with your channels, it's getting always better and I enjoy watching your videos a lot. As an amateur runner they're very helpful!
You're killing it!!! 😎
I might have asked this before, but I would love for you to do a video on strength training exercises and/or core exercises that you do. I need some new ideas.
That sounds fantastic. I use the gym but not sure to its full potential. Love the clips of your workouts. Need more info!
Of course you have to try Bündner Nusstorte (Walnut tart). And learn some Rumansh word. A revair!
14:03 Plock = Plan + Block.
I think Phily invented a new word.
The tea bag thing is so true 😂 I have a box of Yorkshire tea bags for whenever my parents visit me in America 😅
That little comment about things taking longer to cook at higher altitudes blew my little brain 🤯took me a while to figure out🤔 just order take-away... Love these training camp vids and makes me realise how hard you guys work 💪God speed 👍
Culinary tip #1: Always bring Daniel with you. I really can't wait to hear about Copenhagen. I'm actually thinking of running the 2024 version.
Haha if only 🥲
Have you ever thought about putting a looped handle on the bottle? That way you just grad for the handle instead of the bottle itself. In fact, on the TDF, they just hold out the looped strap of the food bags and let the rider hold out his arm and snag it.
I had a 2 hr long run yesterday where I ran up a 1500 ft hill that got steep in a couple places. In order to keep my heart rate in the easy zone, I had to power walk, which ironically was probably quicker than running up the hill.
Running at altitude is its own beast.
Also I'm also in the 'sensitive to caffeine' group so I try to limit it to 50mg.
I would love a video of a vlog around “what a pro runner does the 21/22 hours we aren’t training”??
Hi! Try a Biberli after a big run session!! This is a swiss speciality made with a kind of gingerbread and some almond paste... 😋
I've just found your channel and was kinda binge watching. There could be many other factors I suppose (bit more sun out at the moment, colour grading, makeup...), but I think you're looking in really good health in the last couple and especially this one, it's nice to here you say you feel really healthy too.
hope the marathon goes well, loving the training vlogs rn : ) ❤❤
Great to hear how you are getting on. Sounds like a fantatic training group and location. I did my last long run today for my next target event in two weeks. 22 miles on the trails down on the Gower Peninsula which was amazing. I've adopted the opposite plan that altitude training espouses in that I'm training at sea level so have less red blood cells and therefore weigh less. This may be a flawed plan 🤣😂🤣😂
Really nice place to have a training month. Can't say I'm not jealous. Have a great time out there!
Is the blur on your stats your calories? If so, thank you! I do the same thing because it can be so triggering (and wrong/irrelevant). Anyway - appreciate it.
Don’t be a coward. Face the truth.
Keep the grind going our philly, great that this block is starting positively. I am so looking forward to race day. I have a real good feeling about it.
Love all these little insights into the life of an elite runner. That pizza looked lush mmmmm haha
Loving the grid 💪
Your story telling is incredible!! Such a big talent
such beautiful running paths
You will do fine in Copenhagen.
Just hope the weather is better than it was today.
I got cold to the bone while out running, and cut the run after 23K.
❤Loving your progress🏃🏽♀️⌚
Practicing picking up bottles from a table is great 👍 try putting a few random bottles in the mix that are not your own too!
Great video. I enjoyed learning about going to Switzerland to train. Like others have noted, your confidence in your running has really improved. I am happy for you and look forward to your run in Copenhagen.
Love your content and it keeps me motivated! Please don't fall into the trap of using your body to get views. It's a drug that runs out. If you use your charisma and talent, that is long lasting 💪
Not sure what you mean about using my body to get views.. I use my body to run, I film myself running?
I'm with you on the Yorkshire Tea front. To me, "Tea" = "Yorkshire". Everything else is just mucky "herbal infusions" 🤣 ... whenever we go away, I feel like a drug smuggler stashing a zip-lock bag full of Yorkshire in m'suitcase!
Also love the Coros Pace 2 ... the battery is just infinite. If it's good enough for Kipchoge, then it's good enough for anyone surely!
Keep up the great work! Love the content.
Congrats on your copenhagen race Philly! Awesome run!
yeah switzerland is so expensive! i really enjoyed bircher muesli from different cafes, it has fruit and yogurt and it different than just "muesli". also lots of chocolate
That looks fabulous, good luck for the training block. I can’t wait to see more content
Training Plock really made me chuckle - great vid
Looks great out there, and really like all of the science insights! 👍 Didn’t need to see the vomit clip again though! 😩
We need to see Phily return to St. Moritz when she isn’t at the peak of marathon training, to try all of the winter sports: skating, skiing, gliding down one of those sled runs…
Maybe, since you are in St. Moritz, there is time for you to ride up the mountains with a gondola. Maybe in May when the snow is gone. Kind of envious of you ;-) Keep crushing
Make sure you have a rivella drink, the red is the best only in Switzerland.
Those Yellow v3’s look brilliant, now to try and find some size 6’s….
Great start to the block! Good luck up there!
Good that you practiced with the bottles. I saw Sifan Hassan almost getting hit by a motorcycle at London today because she had to go back to get a bottle.
That was totally nuts
I am kinda suprised that you went to Switzerland since its so expensive. Enjoy the grind as always
I'm guessing with air fare it's probably cheaper overall, plus you don't want to deal with jet lag so close to the marathon
@@hellomark1 The pyrenees would have been much cheaper, warmer and just as close. But I am not one to judge anyone on this matter 😂
Hey Philly, have you decided what you'll do if you do miss a bottle? Might be worth knowing your backup plan just in case. That way you've got it all covered!
9:35 - this roads for running look amazing😍😳🤤
Why blur the calories for the long run? I don’t understand the sensitivity around it?
MCR T3 sucks! T2 is good and 1 okay.
Switzerland is lovely but so expensive... Skied in Zermatt a few years back and it was pretty pricey, caught the train from Zurich and the views were stunning!
Great views and good company must make the training runs a real joy!
Seems like a perfect opportunity to become a mountain trail runner!
Sub 2:28 incoming for sure Phily ...Vamos🔥💪🏾
Wouldn't a train journey to switzerland have been more pleasant? As you say, Switzerland is near England.
I mean, not really.
Trivia: Why is St. Moritz called "Top of the World"?
Answer: "Top of Europe" was already taken by the "Jungfraujoch" (another location in Switzerland)
Great to hear you're all settled in. You mentioned about cooking at altitude - have you tried using a pressure cooker?😉
good stuff...excellent post.
I noticed heart rate on watch can be inaccurate sometimes. Do you have a chest strap heart rate monitor? I just got one for my longer runs to keep pacing under control
great video. a bit puzzled about the heavy focus on the gps watch. i remember your video about ditching watches and listening to your body/effort. what changed your mind?
I got the same honey as you when I was there! Switerland sure is expensive, lucky you are pound conversion, my aussie conversion is argghhh. I hear there is an app you can get to tell discounted products
Thanks for explaining the corus. Each video shows me another feature of my watch!
Also, those bottles are made for cycling bottle cages. Could they not be made a bit slimmer for smaller hands? Just a thought.
These vids have come on leaps and bounds really quickly ,keep em coming
Out of interest is it your Cadence that you blur out ? Is that the "secret sauce" for runners to keep quiet ?
Calories
Oof that low HR must be encouraging!!
woah what was that nifty translation photo app you were using in the grocery store?? that's sooo handy!
Hey Phily, loving watching your new journey. I've moved to Coros from garmin and noticed you used a heart rate strap even though the Coros Pace 2 so wondering what additional benefits you get from the chest strap monitor and what type make/model is the chest strap monitor? Cheers
I also learnt that keeping water in a tight container on an airplane creates a bit of a rocket fountain when opening. Is that what happened?
Does effort pace also take altitude into consideration?
So…. FITNESS👌
Why is it you think that rlites tend to use bottles while we use gels? Is it easier to drink fuel?
@10:26 Did you just put the milk in before removing the tea bag? 😱
Are you going to run the marathon with all those rings on your fingers? Just curious if this might impact picking up bottles (or not)
Wait wait wait...hold your breath in the tunnel is a game!? I've been doing it in secret all these years....
Phily can I ask a question about altitude.... have you ever found you get a high heart rate.... Its just when I ran Snowdon my HR hit 200 and Pen-y Pass (near the summit)
Hello,
Love your vids!
How much would it cost for 1 person to stay and train where you are staying for 1 month ? 😊
Brazilian pizza Beats italian pizza hands down, easely! Come to São Paulo to taste It!
Why don’t you tie a string around the bottle, so you don’t have to pick it up. You just have to put your hand through so it’s unmissable. Never understand why this is not a standard for elite runners who keep missing their bottle like we saw in London?
Is Copenhagen flat? X
Very flat
Tip: the Internet knows how to cook rice. :)
Hope the cowbells don't keep you awake.
I heard hills pay the bills, running paying the bills would be nice too for you. good luck, I just wonder what will be the weather in Copenhagen in a 3 weeks, let's hope not too hot.
