  • Ninh explains 'Can the NFL work in London'? Due to the popular NFL International Series held in Wembley Stadium, London - United Kingdom. There is serious debate and speculation whether a National Football League franchise could move there permanently.
    Ninh examines financial viability, demand, UK fans and also discusses barriers, such as Los Angeles, long distance, long logistics, and the Jacksonville Jaguars or St Louis fans that prevent the move to London, United Kingdom.

      James Lucy the issue is “the first few years” would be literally dozens of years. I say this when looking at America which is by far the second most competitive country in American Football and doesn’t even come close. I mean in America almost every university has a football team(there is hundreds of college football teams). In Canada there’s like 30 and I’m not even exaggerating how small that number is.

      actually, in mexico american football is already rising in popularity, mostly in colleges, I live in a small city that people don't even know about unless you go to san blas on vacaction, but all three universities here have their own american football team, teams from monterrey, mexico city, guadalajara and other major cities have teams of almost the same cuality of any other college football team in the united states. rugby is also getting some popularity here, their are a few coaches who want to get some of the americanfootball players to play offseason rugby so the team can get some recognition from the state

    the reason Wembley sells out is because there is only 2-3 games a year and therefore quite special. I personally don't think if it was a permanent stadium it would attract 90,000 people a week

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  9 лет назад +4

      An NFL team only has 8 home games per season. That's not too much more than the 3 that they're currently holding. Besides, fans from other teams, tourists (and those rich corporate types) would certainly fill in any shortfall.

    • @nagertwi1
      @nagertwi1 9 лет назад +2

      hmm,I'm showing my ignorance here, but I thought there would be more games :/. I still don't think it would work for one team to play all there games there. If there were to be 8 games, I think the best thing to do is to work out how all teams could play just 1 game over here to keep all fans happy.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  9 лет назад

      charltonw Ah, there could be more games if the team makes the play-offs. But assume those will be sold out.
      That's the argument isn't it? How do you get every other team to play here (and a London-based to play in the US) without ruining their schedules and wrecking them with jet-lag? The answer: with extreme difficulty.
      Personally, I don't think they'll bother. They'll do what the NBA has done and host a select number of regular season games across the world. I think the NBA calls them 'The Global Games', so expect to see this rather than a London-based team.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  9 лет назад +6

      Hi Evan Taylor
      Technically they already tried that. In the early 90's, the NFL had a developmental league called 'NFL Europe' - the London Monarchs were the first World Bowl Champions.
      But that league ended up dying a horrible death.
      Whilst the UK has an American Football league 'the BAFL', it's light years behind the system in the US.

      Ninh Ly is it possible that the American teams come in the off-season to Londen and UK? If they wanna use Premier Leugue used stadium they must come over in the summer, are they available then? Or they use Wembley (only national team) and Twickingham stadium (rugby national stadium).
      Can you also look into the new stadium of football Premier Leugue club Tottenham hotspur? They make it also an American Football-use stadium. And they say they have a contract with American football clubs for games. Seems like the market in london is very much hungry for American Football.

  • @xAlexHDx1

    Last year I was flying from Berlin to London the day before a Wembley NFL game. The plane was packed with American football fans going to the game. There is a lot of American football across Europe right now - Germany and UK especially. With smart city selection, I think a revived NFL Europe would do well as a developmental league. With opportunities to cultivate local talent and increase local fanbases, eventually it could grow into something self-sustainable.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  5 лет назад

      Absolutely! Fans go nuts for the NFL over here.
      As for a revived NFL Europe - I'm not sure it would have the same impact as the NFL itself. If you had NFL teams playing locally based NFL teams (i.e London Monarchs vs Dallas Cowboys, Berlin Thunder vs New England Patriots), I think that would draw up quite well.

    Great video very entertaining , great photo of you two in Wembley ! I was thinking about your point regarding logistics. I think maybe the London team could play two away games in the US and then 2 at home , the NFL could schedule it so a team goes on a bye week before travelling to play the London team to aid in recovery after a long haul flight , it probably won't happen but if the NFL is serious about expanding it to a world stage it could be done.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  8 лет назад +1

      +Matthew Boyle That was the idea that the experts suggest. Playing several weeks at home and several on the road. It's a logistical nightmare, as all the teams would have to bend over backwards to accommodate London's schedule. Something that the NFL owners wouldn't necessarily agree with.

    I have to respectfully disagree about the popularity of NFL in England in terms of supporting a team. It's one thing to spend a lot of money to go to one game a year that is a novelty and you aren't really backing one team or the other but instead mainly going for the spectacle. It's quite another thing to have an actual team which needs to sell out 8 games + preseason and the likelihood that the team would be similar to an expansion team and would likely suck. Then you'll see how truly difficult it is to support a lousy team you have to watch play week after week.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  9 лет назад

      Sorry Vladimir, but NFL support in England is real. Ordinarily I'd agree with your very accurate points, but I've seen this for myself. Yes, some people go just for 'novelty', but most go because they like the NFL or support a specific team.
      I've seen how the Jacksonville Jaguars have marketed their team up and down the country and have unofficially become 'England's Team'. They have their own UK based fan clubs, throw their own UK based Superbowl parties, and even offer discounts on flight and hotel packages to watch the Jaguars in Jacksonville.
      I've never seen so many Jaguars fans walk the streets during the last two years. According the NFLUK's latest poll, the Jaguars are the country's #2 supported team.
      The Jaguars stink! But the support is still there.
      There's no question that it could work. But the fact that there's a boatload of obstacles in the way of a team moving here, means that it probably won't happen soon.
      Just like I said to another user: the reason question you have to ask yourself is: if LA gets a team, who will make the move? The Rams, Raiders or Jaguars? And furthermore if the Jaguars make the move, does that all but end a London NFL team?

    • @josephboland627
      @josephboland627 9 лет назад

      The thing is the fanbase its unlikely that the fanbase in london is going to be enough on its own so most of the fanbase will be outside london are they going to support a london team i doubt it and if they did its unlikely they will be able to go to every home game.Many americanfootball fans this side of the pond have developed allegiances to teams already.In ireland people support english premiership teams much more strongly than the league of ireland and something similar might happen with a london franchise though the quality of teams will be the same

  • @Thekingcmk
    @Thekingcmk 8 лет назад +7

    The Problem with the majority of people who say its a stupid idea or it work work. Is that you guys think to big. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE, is expecting the NFL to take over Europe and be the biggest thing ever. The Premiere league is top dog and will always be over in Europe just like how the NFL is top dog over here in the states.
    This move is about expanding the game and marketing. The NFL made NFL Europe at a time when not even the NFL was the top sports league in America. This is a different story, we are talking about 1 team with the support of the actual NFL office to move. They just want 1 team to be over in London to build a fan base and it can work. There is no question that it can work and that they can build a fan base especially with the younger audience, like he says in the video its about actually doing it.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  8 лет назад +1

      the premiere league has Europe? what about La leaga. Real vs Barc is a huge game day. I don't even follow soccer but I know this some how. Nowadays it seems as Real Madrid, Barc, Bayern Munich, PSG are better than Manchester U. than again I'm not a soccer follower

    • @Thekingcmk
      @Thekingcmk 8 лет назад

      +timmy D= The point was just a comparison to the expectations of the NFL. American Football will always be the top sport in America where Soccer will always be the top sport in Europe. That doesn't mean both sports cant grow and make money. MLS is no where close to what the top 4 do in America(Football,Hockey, Baseball, Basketball) but its growing. The NFL can do the same in Europe with at least 1 team in London.
      I personally dont think it will happen soon just because of the disputes of logistics especially with the Union wanting more and more money every year. "IF" it did happen there could easily be a stable enough environment in London.

      Hawaii - almost the same problems as London in terms of time zone difference, but none of the bureaucratic government crap. However, is there a market out there for it? Same with New Mexico. Is it a populous area full of millions with readily disposable income like LA or London? Probably not.

    I was one who was skeptical of football catching on in the UK and it being nothing more than a novelty. A recent study (Repucom) done though shows that interest in the NFL has gone from 8.1% of the UK population in 2011 to 12.3% in 2013. Now what is defined as _interest_ and whether these figures can be vetted is not known, however, all things being equal, this does look promising.
    That said, I agree, with the 2nd biggest city in the nation not having a team, I would find it hard to believe that LA would get a team after London, new team or not. Even if the NFL wanted to expand the current number of teams, there are still a lot other major cities domestically other than LA that don't have teams such as San Antonio and Portland.
    Also, a lot of UK fans already have their NFL teams so would they jump ship and support a London team?
    One thing that should be established in the UK is a grass roots program starting from the youth levels like Pop Warner & high school. This will not only build a more knowledgeable and football hungry fan base but they'll have potential D1 college (D1 college players would still have to play in the States to get prepped for the NFL) players and maybe potential NFL stars.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  9 лет назад +1

      Hey shinlanten
      I think you've hit the nail on the head!
      You're absolutely right, and furthermore: one of the few people on RUclips that actually understands the reality of this situation. Yes, it would be an absolute shocker if London got a team before places like LA or San Antonio. And without expansion - it won't happen ever.
      As for UK fans jumping ship and supporting a London team, it's debatable isn't it? I think the catchment for a potential London team would be to capitalise on new fans as opposed to converting existing ones, like the Jaguars have been doing.
      American Football, whilst it is increasing in popularity - has virtually no grass roots program in order to develop kids to play the game here in the UK. I think that would definitely have to change before the NFL could firmly plant its roots here for good.

    • @shinlanten
      @shinlanten 9 лет назад +1

      Ninh Ly
      Long term (20 to 30 years) for the league internationally I think should be to establish a separate NFL UK league or even an NFL Europe with Germany, France & Italy but filled with NFL caliber players (not like the previous developmental NFL Europe league). This all being done several years after the grass roots has been established and continued games played in the UK and Europe.
      Sounds like a pipe dream but with the NFL pursuing revenue growth of 7% per year with an end goal of $25 billion total revenue by 2027, I find it hard to imagine that all that growth will all come organically from the current model of the NFL.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  9 лет назад +1

      shinlanten I agree with the fact that the current NFL model will not aid in the development of players over here.
      And I also agree with the fact that the NFL is increasing year on year both in popularity and revenue to the point where it could be a world spanning league.
      Unfortunately, I don't think a European or UK NFL League is ever going to happen, or if it does - I don't think it will be successful. You just have to look at other sports that tried and failed over here. The Australian Football League set up a UK league, Basketball has tried it, Ice Hockey has tried it - all with minimal success. The grass-roots thing is a giant problem, and even then it's no guarantee of success.
      Basketball is taught in most schools these days and there are basketball clubs and courts everywhere, and yet there are few NBA level players that get churned out over here. Most have to go to a college in the US to stand any chance of success.
      It's a nice idea certainly to have a NFL league based in Europe. I just don't see it happening.
      :)

      Interesting observation. Perhaps you're right. Heck, the NFL might not be around by 2027 with all the concerns of CTE and the way the game is trying to adapt (i.e. penalty for hitting a defenseless player did not exist when I played back in high school many many years ago) because of it....you never know...

    One question, though. Would the logistical side be improved at all if the NFL moved a second team to Manchester or Glasgow or something? That's what the MLB did when they expanded to California for the first time: the Dodgers and Giants moved in tandem to cut down on travel costs and maintain their rivalry.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  9 лет назад +1

      Robbynascar28 Interesting idea. Although with the NFL, only London will do and I doubt two teams from the US would happily relocate to the UK. Travel costs and time differences is only part of the problem - the bigger problems include different taxes, different laws, visa issues etc. All too much of a headache, which is why I believe that it won't happen, certainly not any time soon.

      Sir Aaron Rowell Excellent idea in theory. But NFL Europe was a disaster for many reasons, mainly due to losing money and the fact that people wouldn't pay top-dollar to watch what was essentially a developmental league.
      In London, only the NFL would draw in the sort of crowds and the revenue that the NFL craves. If London stopped making money, the NFL would be gone quicker than you can say 'boo'.

    Toronto bills please no
    Toronto is the most American place in Canada
    They have the baseball team
    They have the basket ball team
    And for the longest time they had the soccer team
    Not only that but they have a CFL team
    Creating a NFL Toronto team would destroy the Argonauts
    And if that happens then more CFL teams are gonna disband in the wake of Canadian NFL teams
    You of all people should know what would happen to the CFL if the bills moved to Toronto

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  9 лет назад +4

      Daxon Gooding Yes, I'm fully aware of all of those above comments. An NFL team in Toronto would probably end the Argonauts as it stands, and there's been potential government intervention to prevent the NFL putting a team in Canada. Realistically there's no chance of an NFL team in Toronto ... but even they had more of a chance than London!

    As an American, having an NFL team in London would be worth it to hear the commentators wrangle with our terms, or make up their own. I can kind of imagine a sort of "Try Jar" in the booth, for every time they call a touchdown a try.

    The jet lag issue could be helped with the use of the bye week. The eight home games could all be played consecutively before entering the bye week and then the London team could travel to the U.S. to finish out the remainder of its schedule. Liam Flynn Jet lag and transatlantic travel aren't the only issues. Would every NFL team be happy at rearranging their schedules to accommodate London? Would they be happy playing their games at 10:00 pm on a Sunday night to make sure an American TV audience is watching? Are the players and staff prepared to pay 45% income tax on their salaries? There's hundreds of reasons why a move to a place like LA makes more sense than a place like London, and this video only illustrates the main ones.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  9 лет назад

      Liam Flynn To answer some of the other comments you left on my videos (you disabled replies for some reason).
      1) Yes, I think that the NFL is 'thinking globally' (as you put it) by expanding the game outside North America. My take is that they'll try and copy the NBA's 'Global Games' and eventually host regular season games in cities across the world.
      2) Ideally, a NFL/CFL compromise would make sense, but it'd never happen. Canadians are fiercely proud of their version of the game and the NFL would never concede on any of the rules that have made their sport the most profitable in the world.
      3) The reason for the gulf of talent between the two league is simply down to money. If the CFL started paying NFL-style salaries - I guarantee you'd get better players in the CFL.
      4) I always did wonder if the NFL and CFL would ever host an exhibition 'compromise' game, very similar to what Gaelic Football and Australian Football do every year (the international rules football series). I think it'd be an interesting experiment at the very least.
      Thanks again :)

    Team Hawaii of the NASL solved the travel problems by having 4-5 Away games back to back and also having the teams they were facing off at home for the next 5 games come at once
    So I think that a London team might do something similar to solve their travel problems

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  6 лет назад +1

      Travel isn't the biggest hurdle. It's a big headache for sure, but it's more the government, customs, laws and the fact that the NFL is a money spinning machine for it's owners.
      If you say to all the owners - we're putting a team in London, they get a higher salary cap and you guys get less profits - how many of them do you think will agree to that? Answer: none.

      +Ninh Ly No problem, plus there's more stadium upgrades more to come and now there's talk to build an NFL theme park in Jacksonville. You did nail it on the head about the move is not possible and having an NFL team in London is not a good idea, especially the travel rates. Shad Khan the owner of the Jaguars want the NFL to play games in other parts of the world to spread fan base. They did play an NFL game in Mexico City on Hispanic Heritage Month which done very well.

      Like I said to numerous other RUclipsrs, the NFL will probably copy the NBA's Global Games idea and play regular season games in venues around the world to cash in on different markets. They wouldn't put a team in London permanently - there's far too much money to be made just playing exhibition games in large stadiums across the globe!

    I think NFL Europe should be given another go, with one critical difference: This time, each NFL team should be linked to one of the 6 to 8 European teams, with NFL rivals always assigned to different teams. I think that would greatly boost TV ratings in America for NFL Europe. Because then if you're, for example, a New England Patriots fan, you cheer each week for the Scottish Claymores because they have all your developmental players on them, while the London Monarchs have all the New York Jets developmental players on them (and maybe the Ravens and Broncos as well). It's another chance to beat your rivals.
    The old NFL Europe didn't have that, players were spread out everywhere and there were needless restrictions on even being allowed to come back to the same team year-to-year. It was difficult for either Americans or Europeans to get attached. Make the change above and I think you also increase emotional investment by European fans in US teams, because then they only have to pay attention to 4 or so NFL teams to see the progress of their local team's players. This is how people get hooked on sports, by having a cheering interest.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  7 лет назад

      Yes, the old NFL Europe was definitely flawed in that respect. But realistically it'll never happen ever again. The last one was a catastrophic fail for a number of reasons, the small number of teams was one of them. Besides, the NFL already have plans to make a developmental league based in North-America, which would breach non existing markets such as Mexico, Hawaii and possibly (if they can break into it) Canada. Life would be a lot simpler if there was a D League at home than there is in Europe.

    It would be cool to see Grid Iron (American Football) leagues in Europe with teams representing cities. For example London vs Manchester or even national teams representing countries! I just hope it goes better than previous attempts to bring the sport to Europe.

      Daniel K They do already! They have a 'pro' league called the BAFL with teams like London Blitz and Manchester Titans etc. But it's in its infancy at the moment, and certainly won't be an NFL style league any time soon. I feel that without seriously financial backing from a juggernaut like the NFL, American Football won't be a dominant sport in the UK.

    What isn't on this list but which I often hear is that most British/European NFL fans already have a NFL team they cheer for and would be reluctant to change loyalties. Everyone wears their favorite team's jersey to the current International games regardless of which two teams are actually playing, because it's more of an American Football festival than anything else. Does the festival feeling go away if one team is always a London team? I think so, possibly.
    I don't see the taxation as a problem though. I would expect the NFL to work out a deal with the UK government in which the NFL spreads out the excess taxation among all franchises as a league-wide operating cost, rather than have the players shoulder the higher burden individually. In return, the American franchises get a revenue share of whatever TV deal is worked out for the London franchise. The problem remains though that London is still a much less attractive destination for a free agent player due to the much greater travel.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  7 лет назад

      Whilst that's technically true and that most Brits already swear an allegiance to another team, I've quickly learned that getting people to switch teams isn't difficult especially in a non-market like the UK. If Houston can capture some of Texas, then London can capture Europe. As for the festival feeling ... have you ever been to England? Any excuse to drink is a good one!
      Taxation is a massive problem, and the point in the video i was trying to make is that the other owners DON'T want to burn into their profits by having to fund for a London team to exist, whereas they don't have this problem if the team was based in America.
      There are too many hurdles to overcome in my opinion and I think the NFL will go the route of NBA's Global Games and have games staged in different locations without being based in any of them.

    For now I would just say continue to build on whats there. No need to rush things and make the jump to a full fledged team especially with all the red tape in the way of making it a reality. For now just increase the number of games perhaps? Like to 8? In that regard for fans of the NFL over in London you are at least getting the same amount of games to purchase tickets to as home game fans do. Sure you wont get a say on who comes and plays in your stadium but there is more opportunity for fans to get to see at least 1 or 2 teams they like, and the NFL can continue to make more money on teams that can't sell out their own stadiums like Jacksonville or Detroit.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  6 лет назад

      I think that's exactly what the NFL are doing. They're making far too much money with the 4 games - they don't actually need to move a franchise there permanently. Having said that - New White Hart Lane is being built to be NFL ready. So I expect that they'll keep doing what they're doing until either it doesn't work anymore, or they move the Jags.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  8 лет назад

      Ian Vonschondorf Probably no video needed to explain the failure of NFL Europe. The story goes as is:
      1) They formed a development league for the NFL out in Europe. This was the WLAF. It was pretty good, with London being the first World Bowl winners.
      2) As time went on, it became NFL Europe and teams started to move cities due to it being financially unviable.
      3) They made the mistake of charging first rate money to watch fourth rate football. Big mistake. Fans didn't show up except in Germany.
      4) By the time the league folded, all but one team (Amsterdam Admirals) were based in Germany and the league as a whole was losing money. The NFL decided to pull the plug.
      The end.

    No. It would be a nightmare setting up and maintaining a team there. The other times worked because it isn't a regular thing. It's a fun treat for the Brits to see an NFL game live every so often, but if they did it weekly then it wouldn't be exciting anymore.

      I think it'd be just as exciting and there would develop a culture and tradition of it.

      Realistically if they can overcome all the obstacles as listed in this video, it'll be the Jags that move across the pond. They even have their own British nickname (the Jaggers).
      Me personally? I don't think it'll happen at all. They'll continue to make good money from London and end up following the NBA's Global Games program, where they host games in major cities across the world in order to drum up interest. They'll continue to dangle London to the teams that are under-performing, sort of like the 'boogeyman in the corner'. I personally believe LA will get a team first.

    I think for this to work there would need to be a European-based division or even conference (4 or 12 teams). The logistics would be the #1 reason for this not to happen without other Euro-based teams. Having London in the AFC East or South means that they'll be crossing the pond 8 times a year. That will be killer on all of the teams traveling to/from London, then we're also talking about work visa's passports and whatnot.
    Creating a Euro-Division would force the NFL to realign at least one of their conferences. But it's certainly doable. But outside of London, the only markets I could see that's remotely American football friendly are Berlin, Frankford, Amersterdam, and maybe Rome. The problem with this route is that you're watering down the level of competition.
    I think the NFL should simply just stick with the Wembly series and expand this idea to other markets in Europe, and work on recreating NFL Europe.

    The big counterbalance to all the reasons why the NFL wouldn't / won't move a team to London is money. There is so much to be made there. London is such a big, rich city, that even if the team came nowhere near the level of support the big Premier League clubs get, they would still likely do better than all but the top tier of American cities.
    The real way to do it would be to set up a British Isles or European division by not just having one expansion team but four of them (say Manchester, Dublin and pick a city in Germany-- Berlin) so that the regular division schedule could be played without ridiculous travel commitments. If 6 of the 16 games were in Europe, then the travel wouldn't be quite such an issue. It would also then not need to have all the games start so late. At one point I lived in Hawaii and on Sunday mornings the East Coast games started at 7am there. I got up and watched them... Late starts wouldn't be good for the ratings in the UK, which would be an important consideration in making the thing work. Maybe the only late games would be when a West Coast team would come to visit.

    • @NinhLyUK
      @NinhLyUK  8 лет назад

      bjdon99 One NFL team playing in Europe is a push. Moving three out here is almost impossible. Remember: the NFL will not expand, so one (or in your case; three) teams have to move. I don't see that ever happening.
      The time differences can be overcome, the money isn't an issue, and any security, laws, income taxes, the other problems etc could be solved. But all of those things together? I just don't see it.

    Hey Ninh, I've watched a few of your videos, I don't see why they don't get more views they are so well done. I would love to see a NFL team in London, but if the jaguars do "cross the pond' I hope they get completely re-branded, I live in Florida and the jags(and the fan base)have become sort of lackluster. The colors are awful also there are no jaguars in Florida so the name doesn't really fit ( I know there are exceptions to this..but still). This is the best time for them to move and start over, the less teams in Florida the better I say. On a side note: I'm sure the NFL can figure out the logistics issue and if worst comes to worst and it fails so what, to a league like the NFL it would be a small folly.

As for the logistics: it's more to do with money and UK taxes rather than plane rides and shipping - it's a giant headache that any LA team wouldn't encounter.

    Well said. I think London has such a great excitement for the NFL because it is different. I think if a team was there for 16 games, that excitment would begin to drop off and it would simply become another team rather then the sexy new thing. We see the same thing in America when a European Premier team comes over to play a friendly, it could easily sell out the Big House in Michigan. Realistically I think the NFL would expand to Mexico before London. But the London games will continue as it is fun for the leauge and generates TONS of American and international buzz. If there is one thing the NFL loves, its speculation. Glad to see your a Cowboys fan. I have heard, and remember from the failed NFL Europe, that there is a lot of gridiron football fans in Germany. Whats your thoughts on the NFL playing a game in Germany? Who is the most popular NFL team in England?

      Hey Mark Dewald
      Once again, I appreciate the kind comments. To answer your questions and queries.
      1) Yes, I'm glad you agree. The NFL will continue to make a boat-load of money without ever having to move a team to London, just like Premier League teams would sell out the Big House every game.
      2) I think LA and possibly San Antonio are better fits than London and Mexico City, although Mexico would undoubtedly get a team before London.
      3) Yes, when NFL Europe died (finally), all but one of those teams were based in Germany. I think inevitably the NFL will do what the NBA are currently doing with it's 'global games' and hosting games across several cities worldwide. I think yes - Germany will probably get to host games too.
      4) In a recent poll taken on the NFLUK website - the Patriots are the most popular team followed by (surprisingly) the Jaguars and Packers. And just like the USA - nobody remembers the Titans!

      Ninh Ly LA will happen soon. Sam Antonio will never have a team. The NFL are marketing geniuses and are extremely selective on where teams go. They do not want to take from Cowboys fan base, the largest money maker in the NFL. Toronto is always a possibility all though that would be the death of the Argonauts. I think Mexico City is a possibility all though player and staff security would present a major obstacle as they would be huge targets for kidnapping. Keep up the videos, I love your take on things

    The traveling alone is prohibitive. The UK team would have to get a special schedule that would string together at least 4 games at home, then 4 away, etc. The rest of the league wouldn't stand for that. And that's just the regular season. If they made the playoffs, they'd possibly be shuttling back and forth every week. Now, it might make a whole lot of sense to create a separate but NFL-branded and approved European league (the EFL?) that operated strictly within Europe and perhaps the Middle East. That's obvious. San Antonio wants one. Toronto, Mexico City, Orlando, a return to St. Louis (assuming the Rams eventually move to Los Angeles), Memphis, Brooklyn, the list goes on. While it would be neat to see a full time international team, Goodell should focus on this continent first.

      Mike Dilullo I wholeheartedly agree! Putting a team in London doesn't make sense when you have LA, San Antonio, Toronto etc. all vying for teams, all of which are easier to make happen. Like I said to most people - it's an idea that always circulates round the time where the NFL comes to London, but realistically, it's not going to happen. Hence my need to make this video. Thanks for stopping by, be sure to share this video and subscribe :)

      Memphis and Brooklyn have teams already. The Jets and Giants play just outside of the City. The Titans are play at LP Field in Memphis so they already have a team. The Raiders might move to LA they already have a stadium concept. Orlando might get a team although that's unlikely. San Antonio could get one maybe the Cowboys or Texans move there

      Firstly, the Titans play in Nashville. Secondly, I want a team in Brooklyn for an intense rivalry between Brooklyn and the Jets/Giants. Thirdly, Orlando is a very tourism-friendly place, so an NFL team wouldn't be too bad there. Look at the success of the new Orlando Club in MLS. Finally, Mark Davis pitched the idea of the Raiders moving to San Antonio. The Cowboys aren't moving away from Dallas (especially with that super stadium) and the Texans are less than 15 years old, so I can't see them anywhere but Houston for the time being.

    It would probably work but it will cost more money to fly teams out there and back for 16 games and including playoffs

      Won't be as much as you think .. .especially if the league is sponsored by an airline.

      Ninh Ly Really I thought it be a lot of money to use jet fuel both ways also would it probably be best to just have two leagues of football like one in England during spring-summer and NFL in America fall-winter so we get non stop American football and both countries get them and still eligible to trade to North America or England

      Technically England already does. It's called the BAFL - and it's not exactly what you'd call 'pro'.
