As a severe ME sufferer this means a lot to me too. Not many people know how awful this illness is. Ren is doing a great job of being a voice but not in your face about it.
After my first husband of 22 years, past away. I discovered that I was willing to be miserable every single day. Rather than take the risk of being happy. Just to loose it again. So, realizing this. I determined THAT is NOT what a well adjusted human should be. So, I made some changes. I am happily married now for almost 12 years.
Dawn, that is so good to hear.. I get that sentiment from the chalk outlines lyrics as well.. scared of being ok cause all things change.. thanks for the hopeful words!💘
I haven't even watched this yet, I'm watching as I'm typing, BUT I've seen your health updates recently, I really hope you're doing well, or at least better 💜
As a sufferer, life long of ME its had many different diagnosis over the years the way he is able to describe it in interviews and his determination to live. Its very hard I have been lucky and had periods as long as 3 years in remission before I would catch a virus and my body would spin back down for another 3/4 years before levelling out enough to work again from 17- 55 this was the pattern then it kicked in and never left no more remissions I am 70 now and delight in every day that I wake and feel human recently had a run of 3 months then sleep won again. I ramble but his journey to me is close and I just want his to get easier.
Do we know of any rap artist today who has experienced the pain of 10 years plus of horror and misery, inaction and misdiagnosed bullshit? Hell no! Ren is the most genuine rap artist today. Furtehr, he can do it all, sing it all, act it all. His spoken word is mesmerizing. WE love you Ren.
I love this reaction. I will always go to your reactions first. What you said about Ren , I also think much the same about you. You can make me laugh and cry. Hope you feel better soon. X
I listen to this one a lot, as someone who also has severe M.E, and have it listed in my expression of wishes to play at my funeral. I have never lost hope, but it does wear thin sometimes and get harder to find.
In light of yesterday's announcement, I've had this on repeat. Sending prayers and love to this amazing human. This was part of the documentary on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome "Unrest" - a fantastic testament to keep moving and to understand that you don't know what someone else is going through. It's available for free on YT - It won a Sundance award. This was filmed in 2015/16. ruclips.net/video/XOpyLTyVxco/видео.html
This song means so much to me. I have M.E. And fibromyalgia too. I love the song but every time I watch the video to it it makes me cry. Seeing Ren so unwell, and this wasn’t anywhere near his worst, kills me. Although he was misdiagnosed, having M.E. Isn’t fun at all and Iv had some horrific lows. The lyrics are beautiful though 🖤
Man, loved this one. Well said. And best wishes on gettin that stone passed. Only time I’ve ever seen my old man wince in pain was when he went through it
This song was in a documentary called 'Unrest'. It's shows the struggles people with M.E. ( Chronic Fatigue Syndrome ) go through on a daily basis. It's one of Ren's many 'diagnosis' he had just before he found out he had Lyme Disease. He has a few cameos in the film, including this song. I recommend it as a must watch for everyone.
Keep digging Bro... it's only gonna get better with Rens catalog!!! Hold On, Ocean, Englishman in New York, Praise You, and Life is Funny are must Do's from him!!!
I’m at a turning point in life and the depression and anxiety is real this last couple days and I have replayed this song on repeat and have sang at the top of my lungs to convince myself of these words. Ren u are helping me grow as a person and u make me feel less alone in my low points that I can’t drag myself out of ur words are there it’s like getting the hug I need. Thanks ray for showing me this reaction I will listen so many times.
I'm not even through watching this reaction but that's one of my favorite quotes! Thomas Edison: "I have not failed! I have just found a thousand ways it didn't work." 💡 Fun Fact: Thomas Edison's research facility is located in my original home state 😀👍 (I no longer live in the state I was born & raised in.) Again, just here to show my support, Ray 🌻💖 But I am a total history nerd & I just geeked out when he quoted Thomas Edison 😄 Very, very happy that you're feeling better, Ray 😃💯 Once again, peace ✌, love 💖, & blessings 🙏 & ⚡❤ to you & yours & to one & all here as well 💕 Edit: As an Elvis fan, and as a Frank Sinatra fan, I have to say this: I would never come at you, Ray, or anyone else, for ranking certain nowadays artists with the likes of Elvis and/ or Frank. Who you think belongs up there on another/ next level is entirely your opinion & I respect others' opinions, totally. For me, it's not a competition. Whichever artists you love, you love. I've said this so many times before: Art is highly subjective and music is art. What is music to you is music to you. This world would be a very boring place indeed if everyone liked the same exact music, the same art, the same food, the same clothes, the same furniture, etc and so forth. I love what you said here, Ray, very beautiful 💖💖
I think it's well-established that to my fellow RENegades and I, Ren is truly something special, but we have only scratched the surface regarding the depths his kind graciousness does delve. If you ever see this, Ren, I just wanted to say thank you for what you did for Robert Hale in his last days. Although I didn't know him personally, I am a person who has faced days in which I lived to see another simply because the love and concern I have for my animals. I don't know if you ever saw his tribute video featuring this song (his comments were turned off), but allowing him to use your song without fear of copyright infringement I'm quite sure meant the literal world to him in his last days here on earth. He seemed to be exactly where he wanted to be...with his furrbabies, and I believe that your song allowed him to express that emotion in ways his body no longer could. Again, I didn't know Rob personally, but his story and his love for his animals is just so beautifully endearing, if not heartbreakingly so. I find myself often feeling despondent at times in the face of my future in this world (a feeling I know that you are all too familiar yourself), but whenever I need to find strength and purpose in this world, I find myself revisiting Rob's video, and his grace and compassion in his last moments gives me, well..just that much needed bit of patience. You, Ren, are truly a propagator of all things brilliant and lovely amidst the darkest of depths, and for that willful desire to spread your light, I will be forever grateful. In case you missed it, here's the link to Rob's tribute video. Well done, mate.. I can think of no better song choice than this. ❤ Robert's Patience @robertchale "2mo ago If you want to know what kind of guy Ren is, im dying of leukaemia and reached out to him because i wanted this song played at my funeral but im not tech savvy enough to edit it- he went and edited out the beginning where hes talking and emailed me the audio of the song. This guy isnt just talented and passionate, hes a real 1 in a billion gem of an artist who still takes time to connect with and help his ever growing fan base. This song has become the theme tune to my treatment despite none of it working. Ive tried to introduce everyone i know to his music and so far not a single person has been critical. All ages and walks of life love it. Thank you Ren." ruclips.net/video/Z8cKvU6duo0/видео.htmlfeature=shared
When we work hard and are trying to grow, some how we always get what we NEED. Like you said, we may not get what we think we want but we always get what we need.
Great reaction! Having dealt with some health issues, this song is meaningful to me. There are just times when it helps to hear it. I have a playlist of music that helps when I'm not feeling well. This song, Hold On and Humble all fall in that category for me. Hope these help you as well!
I binged all you Ren reactions about a month ago and want you to know how much you inspired me and started some very important internal dialogues. Especially in Bittersweet Symphony the part about being a father to a son. Spurred a great conversation with my son about always talking to me and having an open dialogue with each other
You are a blessing brother. I needed to hear this tonight. May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always. 🙏 You will be in my daily prayers.
Best reaction videos ever, you somehow manage to be on point with everything you see and hear, whilst at the same time actually making me physically laugh out loud! ( Hope you're feeling a better now )
We're with you Ray. I'm 44 and also about to finish my teaching degree, but I suffer with really bad pain in my back and neck, because of arthritis. I'm trying to do more stretching and exercise. Let's keep going!! We can do it. ❤😊
He has a studio version of this song. It was on a soundtrack. I love this song. It resonates so strongly in me, having had health problems as a kid. Awesome reaction.
I REALLY, REALLY love your reactions but, fewer reactions and you healthy is far better than you making yourself ill. Take care of you and yours and do enough reactions to feed your soul. You make so much sense in your reactions, particularly to REN tracks. He is magical and makes people talk. I only realised bout 8 years ago the value of making time for the things you love. Please take care of you ❤
Have you reacted to Ren's cover of Elvis I can't help falling in love? If nor you should you will love it. Get better soon and take care of yourself brother love your reactions from England
Feel better Sir! Like you said, sometimes it comes at you sideways. Just gotta chill, do what you need to do & go with the flow. Peace fellow Gen Xer. Get yourself healthy, it's worth so much. Sure drop some weight, but that # on the scale ain't a thing. It's the numbers from the doctor that do. Be well. 😊 Okay, last edit. I was not close to my mother, but she gave me the best advice. There is only one thing you have to do in life, be yourself. And be it fiercely!
For the kidney stones, my mother has had them before for several years. Lemon 🍋 water breaks down the stones. Drink in intervals with regular water. Also make sure the bottle water you are drinking doesn’t have added calcium, the stones are calcium build up. Easier to pass and or completely dissolves them. Lemonade’s with not too much sugar, cranberry juice no sugar. I hope it helps. Good luck with diagnoses. 🥰👍
This song means a lot to me
I loved it so much , VIBE GANG I WILL PIN THIS COMMENT IF U GUYS NEED A GREAT GRAPHIC DESIGNER LUV YA
As a severe ME sufferer this means a lot to me too. Not many people know how awful this illness is. Ren is doing a great job of being a voice but not in your face about it.
This was such a beautiful reaction to a beautiful song. Please look after yourself. We need your light.
@@brandongiarusso2664 Same here. Over two decades in and so grateful he is helping raise some awareness of the suffering and lack of care.
This is one of my favorite songs by Ren ❤
Take care of yourself. Your health means more to us than videos.
Absolutely
I can relate, hope you're well and rested soon
Oh man. I just want to hug the guy. Might freak him out so I send him every healing/loving vibe I can

When we work hard and are trying to grow, some how we always get what we NEED. Like you said, we may not get what we think we want but we always get what we need.
Happiness doesn’t exist longer than a moment. Seek satisfaction.
