Tried a different approach this year and only scouted for the first month of season and my first sit on October 6 I shot a 10 pointer on public with my 74lb Hoyt using victory vap elite arrows with the 55 grain insert and 125 grain Qad exodus broadhead, buck only went 30 yards

I love your hunting videos but your tips tricks and instructional videos are my favorites!
At 42 years of age, im thinking about getting into the compound bow world for yhe first time. Had a shoulder injury when I was younger, time to put fear aside and try it out. You explain everything so well, and I have watched a lot of your bow building/tuning videos, looks like a lot of fun being able to tune yourself, saves trips to the bow shop each time something needs to be changed. Cant wait for the new videos to come out!
@@Intimidator82 a lot of the new Bows have nice smooth draws and if your shooting like 40-50 maybe 60 pounds your shoulder should be okay. 50 pounds will pass through elk for sure. But if the newer bows hurt your shoulder I’d recommend one of the older Matthew’s solo cam bows. I know people who had bad shoulder injuries and almost quit bow hunting because of it and they tried the solo cam and they were fine
Plenty of deer have been killed with 50lbs bows
@@playanamedgus2415 it was an old school bow from the 80s that I tried and yeah, they are nothing like the new ones as I just went to the bow shop and tried some and got measured up. Being a tall lanky individual I wasn't sure I'd find one, but at 31" draw I fit right in at the top end of 'normal' if that's what you want to call it. Lol

I always pull a few arrows and keep them for hunting. Usually a half dozen and they hold new lighted knocks. I check them and leave them aside. I also don’t reshoot the same arrow after it hit an animal except for target. Maybe I’m over cautious but easy insurance I guess.
Same protocol for me.

I got permission to hunt on a property with 7 acres in a small neighborhood with a lot of deer, but the only thing is there are people who feed the deer. What tips do you have to bring the deer to my set more regularly?

For arrows for hunting I shoot 5 arrows all year then I switch the arrows that I shot all year then I replace the tips on those 5 arrows with broad heads

@@brandonbrown6158 I've had multiple pass throughs with 415 grain arrows, current arrows are 447 grain, axis 5mm, 28" 125gr head, they fly through also... Shot placement and arrow speed are all ya need.

How do you get a lighted nock out of your arrow when it breaks or bends? Every time I try it just winds up snapping off inside the shaft of the arrow.
I have like six arrows or more that are in the situation that I’m talking about. It’s becoming really expensive.
I highly recommend the peep tuner from bowmar, say what you will about him, he knows how to come up woth archery products that work and are needed.

I missed an 8 point I believe I hit a twig. It’s very easy to not see brush or twigs in the way when you’re focused on the deer from what I’ve seen. Find your lanes and stick to them

To avoid mechanical problems, use fixblades. But here you get other problems, you need to be able to adjust the bow, and this is not as easy as it may seem. First you need to learn how to shoot with it. Mechanical is for losers.
