Most impressive tail/engine combo on any aircraft for my money - worked so well with the older red BA livery. Something so vertical and dorsal fin like about it. Lovely bird sadly missed.
The Landon livery so very defined British Airways during that era. Strong yet elegant. None of their subsequent liveries have come close to being as impactful.

the BA fleet had RB-211 engines so they sounded awesome on takeoff. beautiful plane.

my dad was an engineer with Lockhead. Burbank CA . The lines of this bird are perfect. That engine in the tail must have been a hassel to service
