This was very well thought out. Kudos to BA on this.
From the different countries (Scots) to the different dialects and accents of the UK from each cabin attendant (not all from South England), to the various time periods and use of the British English language over the last 300/400 years or so, to the 11% that make up the ethnic minorities of the UK.
As a Black Brit, I definitely feel seen in both cultural, linguistic and ethnic ways, it's a lovely amalgamation of what makes the UK, the UK in 2024.

These are great. I remember when the first one of these was released a few years ago with a fantastic cast. The only challenge is when you are a frequent flyer, by the time this has been seen three or four times it becomes tired and you just want it to be over. To overcome this, we need a whole portfolio of these (perhaps six to ten different versions) to try to offer a new edutainment experience on more flights.

    • @francisbtube

I found this extremely cringy, unlike the brilliant ANZ adds. Only seems to be appreciated by fans of the cringy revisionist Bridgerton. A show you couldn’t pay me to watch. This is coming from an English Downton addict. This ad just seemed to be trying too hard, and the cross centuries references don’t work in my not humble opinion. I would have directed this ad totally differently. Make the modern safety rules relevant but ridiculous to those playing ancient parts.
For example, the Scot’s and the seatbelts. Don’t show seatbelts on a horse just stupid. Show, perhaps, the horse’s girth being overly tightened with an AI I image of the horse making a funny human like face of grimacing as the FA says make sure the belts are secure and tightened, have the courtier women quickly rifle one of those books with multiple images of the same character that makes the character look like it’s moving while the FA says please put away all entertainment devices, when the captain says please move quickly to the nearest exit, have the characters move rapidly in a wavy path á la Benny Hill to towards the doors of the room with the Benny Hill Music playing, etc etc.
