- In this video, you get to tag along with me and my friends as we climb and ski Piz Muraun. It was my first opportunity to use an ice axe and crampons on a ski mountaineering objective. Previously when ski touring I often take the easy way up to the top and the tricky way down. After this fun experience, I plan to take the tricky way up and down more often when the conditions allow it!

Remember to buy spare string and always bring it. This because it can snap after some use.

Thanks but far from it :) Im I am glad about that, his skiing is too gnarly for my taste.
I do recommend at least hybrid crampons!
The all aluminum ones are only usable in snow and bend and even break on rocks. Petzl offers a hybrid solution: alu in the back and steel in the front.
Thats what I used. I have the Petzel Irvis.

Hope to ski in Austria during Christmas, but not sure if they get the situation in control before that 😣

I can know the up would be more fun but the down would suffer. In a couple of days I will post a video on that kind of gear with reflections on that.

Hey Jens are you on the Bent Chetler 100 here? How is it for touring, which binding did you take with it?
No, I was on the Backland 107 with a shift binding that day. This winter I also got myself the 107 with the backland tour binding for a lighter setup.
@@StompItTutorials Ahh ok nice! looking for a set up to get in to touring, would you recommend it for a new tourer, but a strong intermediate skiier? I usually go to Davos, Laax etc. I'm based in Zurich..

Hi Jens, do you know if the Swiss will review its 10 day self isolation policy in the next few weeks? Otherwise skiing is out the window ⛷
I dont know yet its still very new. Some sources seem to think this variant of concern cause mild disease and if true maybe they will change the self isolation rule again.
