I had cat Laurel Burch fabric that I have had for years. Saved and saved for something special. Abbee kitty was really sick and no vet appointments for a week (Covid). There was a lady ( Gina)down the street that had alot of cats. I asked her if she would help me with Abbee and she did .Gina came a couple times a day to help. I made her a fulll size laurel burch quilt. She was very deserving and I was very happy to make it for her.🐾♥️♥️

Last year I decided to cut few 2-1/2” strips from each piece in my stash. It was therapy during Covid times. Now I’ve started making 5” squares in addition & it will make it so easy to start something! No fabric is sacred. The joy is in using it.

"Get your creativity going again"... great advice! Just take out a few of your fat quarters and make one of those darling zippered pouches. Show case those lovely fabrics...give as a gift and double your pleasure. Let's start using our fabric we've collected...favorites first. Then test your generosity and give it away!!
Everything you've said in this video makes perfect sense...thanks for reminding us to share our talents as well as our treasured STASH.

You make a lot of sense; use things!! When my good stuff breaks I celebrate because I can now buy a new one in whatever style I want. These days I like to thrift shop. Reuse/repurpose.

I just happened to find this video today and am deeply appreciative of your comments. I'm 74 years young and no one else sews that I'm close to. Fabric has clogged my closet and plastic bins for too long! Today something gets made even if it's just a pot holder. And tomorrow something. And the next day something, etc. Thank you!

Lucinda McMullen High five, girl! I'm 72 and like you, I have no one who sews (including my two daughters (50 and 46)) I've decided to take my fat quarters and put them in baggies (10 pieces per) and donate them. I'd had bread loaf plastic containers that hold 2 1/2" pieces, combined them and made scrap quilts. Unless someone has specified a particular quilt pattern, everything else gets donated. My larger pieces that I will never use (1 yd or more) get put in yet another baggie with the yardage written on the front and off to Value Village. I even have multiples of notions and supplies. Who needs 7 pair of scissors. How many rulers and rotary cutters can a person have. I sure don't need 500 - 800 patterns and magazines! Next comes my cross stitch stuff. But that's for another day!! LOLOL What are you doing with the quilts you've stacked in a closet somewhere for future "gifts". I just sorted mine and have 38 baby quilts, throws, and lap quilts. Guess where those little beauties are going! Hospital children's wards. I'm relaxing just knowing someone, somewhere, can make use of them. Enough blabbering. Have a great day and Merry Christmas to you and yours! Hugs from Canada!

Oh yes! I have fabric in plastic boxes that I’ve hauling around for over 20 years! My favorite piece of wool and another piece of silk could be my favorite jacket. - you have challenged me to make something! Thanks! 😁

If you die with the most fabric, that means you haven't been sewing fast enough....LOL
Seriously, I have some fabrics that I am just frozen with. And I need to make something. My daughter does quilt, but not sure if she would do anything with the ones I am talking about. (Kaffe Fassett) I have moved and not settled into my sewing space quite yet...but sometimes I feel like just cut it in squares if nothing else! But this entire video...Oh, I don't even know the words. I am the world's most indecisive person you could ever meet. So many things I want to do/make but cannot choose which one.

For too long, I saved pieces that were a fat quarter, just in case the perfect pattern needed a whole fat quarter. Not anymore.

Do you have fabric that you've been hoarding for a long time? What would it take for you to jump in and use it?
