Thank you for sharing this video. Had one of these sitting in my mother's garage for 20 years .... followed your instructions and it started on the first pull! Nice to see my dad's old unit up and running! Thank you
I use real fine wires from cutting torch welding cleaning kit. Like feeler set but thicker too thinner cleaning wires. Works good on carb jets. My Honda generator was stolen Shelton Washington so my dear neighbor gave me his after buying a bigger one for himself! Real nice if him. Generator is missing bottom air filter bottom housing that snaps onto filter by wire spring snaps. It only run with full chock, shutting off immediately when chock lever moved too to run? What do you think? You live in Monmouth Oregon? They have bells like yours. Yeah, we'll see how lucky with one pull!? Haha!
Thanks for the comment. The problem you are describing is most likely due to a plugged carburetor. I would clean the gas tank, fuel line and thoroughly clean the carburetor.
Great video! Well done. This ultrasonic cleaner machines from harbor freight are great as well. You can out the whole carb in it without the bowl on and 9/10 install back on machine and it will start right up,! Thank you again
Just cleaned my carb and was able to get the nozzle out using a small allen key. Fit like a glove in the venturi, and was the perfect length to get it far enough along that it would just drop out with a few taps.
Good video. You know I am going to remind you. You didn't check the oil. I guess it didn't matter but you forgot to roll back the idle screw after you put the pilot jet back in. You do good work and I am just messing with you. No harsh words from me.
Excellent tutorial Jeff. Neighbor gave me a honda eg2200z. I got it to run. The problem: ignition switch moves to the off position when I pull the starter rope. I got it running by disconnecting kill wire from ignition switch. There is a hose also from engine to ignition switch. I believe its some type of vacuum line? So again its the movement of the engine that causes the ignition switch to flip to off position. Any guidance appreciated. Thank you and all the best from New Rochelle N.Y.
Great video. Managed to find a carb gasket set for mine. Just put it back together. Got it out back running as we speak. I do have a question. Can't seem to get mine up to 60hz. With the governor adjustment screw all the way in to the stops can only get it to about 55hz. Any ideas. Is this an indication the generator is bad? Frequency meter issue? Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated. Have a great day.
I'd suggest you get a meter that reads Hz? or a Kill-A-Watt meter that you can accurately check. The vibration meter on mine doesn't seem to work. I adjusted mine to 62Hz no load and it drops to about 58 full load.
have one just like yours, but carb needs replaced, could you the carb model or replacement carb , and where to order one, there are many on line but hard to find the correct one. thank you
Thanks! I do not have an ultrasonic cleaner, I would like one they do sound nice. I sometimes have to soak the carbs in vinegar or carburetor cleaner depending on the type of corrosion/buildup.
Good video, but you have the float bowl in the wrong position; you can't reach the float bowl drain screw the way you have it! Need to drain them carbs when the engines sit for a while.

I need to get one of those ultrasonic cleaners
Just cleaned my carb and was able to get the nozzle out using a small allen key. Fit like a glove in the venturi, and was the perfect length to get it far enough along that it would just drop out with a few taps.

Nice Silkie!
I love my birds!
Nice fix. Do you have an ultra sonic cleaner. I use one and love it on the Honda engines. Thanks for the video's.
Thanks! I do not have an ultrasonic cleaner, I would like one they do sound nice. I sometimes have to soak the carbs in vinegar or carburetor cleaner depending on the type of corrosion/buildup.
Ultrasonic with hot water, some Simple Green and a little Oxyclean for the organic buildup. Comes out like new.
Nice video - thanks for sharing
Thank you Claus
Soak in full strength simple green cleans great does not hurt orings...send me $20... best advice you'll ever get for doing carburetors
I will try it
Nice job Jeff! 👍
Got one of this generator. Do you know what year was this made ?
nope
Ok,thanks
Where can I get parts for this need pull start and cup. ? Thanks got ex 800
Honda dealer or perhaps Ebay or Amazon
Good fix, those little Honda generators are nice. Did your customer really pay$300.00 for it, like I said, they’re nice, but not that nice.
Thanks! No he paid $75.00... It was marked $300 because it was in a pawn shop at one time. I agree $300 is too much for it
thats a neat lil genny. but the idle screw. in video u didnt ease it back off,lol but other then that very good video on how to clean a honda carb!
Necesito el carburador de este modelo. Dónde lo puedo encontrar. O como lo pido en linea
Ebay o Amazon es donde suelo conseguir piezas.
Did it put out any electric power?
yep!
Ciao ne ho uno uguale ho un dubbio va a benzina o miscela?
Wow how do you know that much about that carb
it is a common carburetor design by Honda
I think you over did it. Can't you come up with a table to work on or do you just like squatting down on the ground?
I guess for those who want "thorough", you did a good job.
unfortunately my work bench is full right now
Air filter?
Yes I had to replace it and the spark plug, I made a foam one from an old briggs filter. I should have shown that
Nice
Good video, but you have the float bowl in the wrong position; you can't reach the float bowl drain screw the way you have it! Need to drain them carbs when the engines sit for a while.
