Heres a tip for sedans such as the one in the video, center your body two parking spots over then just pull your steering wheel till it cant no more to the desired direction then just reverse. minimal adjustments required.

When backing into a space use the 45 degree method.

Kid passed Michigan test (2nd try) last month. Points DEDUCTED EVERY repositioning 🚗. Perfect score = ONE "curved path backing - sight side, Y-turn". Must back in from 90 degree angle w/o touching or crossing either side boundary. Does NOT need to be evenly centered

I could have parked multiple times in that amount of times. This will assume the desired spot is on the right. When I am coming up on the spot I check for oncoming traffic and if it is clear when my rear is nearing the spot I turn hard in the opposite direction (left) so my rear swings towards the spot (on the right). Then, when I go to back into it my angle is already about half way there and you put your hand behind the passenger chair's head rest's back and look out of the rear window and turn the wheel towards the spot (right) and slowly proceed until you are in. Now, if the desired spot is on the left when approaching it again make sure traffic is clear and get the car to the middle of the isle and when the rear is passing by the spot just do what is listed above, but in the opposite direction for parking on the opposite side. If you feel like you are getting close to a car on a certain side, check the mirror on that side to gain a better understanding. Looking through the rear window helps to get a broader understanding for both sides at once. Of course especially when new and unfamiliar take your time and don't let an impatient bastard rush you and you hit something from trying to go faster then you are capable of. Take the extra few seconds to do it right rather than speeding through it for a stranger and hit something. To help with being straight, look at a perpendicular object, like a curb or building, when stopped to try and gage how straight you are. You could also look at the spot in front of you and try and judge from that if you don't want to open the door to check the line. Don't remember what the book tells you to do, but at least for me it is easy and gets me in the spot in no time at all.

HINT: ALWAYS - "Before" actually backing up, give your horn a short tap
to beep the horn to let those know surrounding your vehicle that your
now going to back up...the horn alerts others nearby rather than
    silently just backing up.

I cringed the first time when he ran over the cone. The second time, he did better but needs more work. The second time he did it, he was over too close to the right. His wheels on the right were on the edge of the white line. Imagine another car is by the other side of the car. The driver could hit the car opening the door and the driver could have a hard time getting out of the vehicle! He needed to center the car between the white lines better, allowing more space between the car and the white lines evenly or almost evenly and he'd be good!

Are you guys blind, it's a woman, and she did a little better the second time around...

@@jamtop1105 First of all, I said "he" (sorry, didn't notice the person in the car) did better the second time. Second, I came here because I'm learning to drive and I'm pretty sure the car and how it's being moved and driven is more important than the gender of the driver when learning how to drive. I didn't come here because I wanted to know whether it was a man or woman in the car.
