    1. Cayenne S over Turbo
    2. An SUV doesn't need to be overly powerful, it needs to be reliable, comfortable and have a massive luggage compartment plus a high maximum load. The 440 HP of the S is more than enough and another plus of having a low(er) fuel consumption is to avoid excessive gas station visits. The old Cayenne Turbo was a heavy drinker and this one won't be any different.

      The Turbo is here for the people who just want a V8. Period.

      Alex K. Hello fellow Alex, I agree the Cayenne S is the pragmatic choice plus I like look of the current cayenne s better because it looks very handsome like the gen 2 cayenne turbo.

    • @t5grrr

      17 mpg city, 31.5 Hwy fuel economy isn't quite the old cayenne. (And that IS the turbo!)

      Sounds like you prefer an American SUV ( saburban, ,Navigator , etc)

    I just love your reviews - technical but never boring :) I bet that 4WS + 4WD + Active roll bars with staggered wheels make this behemoth handle like crazy in comparison with other cars in its class

    • @MotoManTV
      @MotoManTV  6 лет назад

      You are going to see in the two upcoming FIRST DRIVE REVIEWS, these two - especially the Turbo - simply defy logic as to what they do. Yes, the newest 3 chamber air ride and All Wheel Steering are a lot of that but so is the traditional Porsche engineering.

      I would love to hear your comparison in performance to the X6M vs new cayenne. The new x6M 2017 and above have touch screens and made some improvements to their tech with self parking, but the performance defies science and would like to know if the cayenne gives you that Kool aid smile has a higher rating for smiles per miles

    • @xkrnxboix
      @xkrnxboix 6 лет назад

      +Dahyu Patel: The X6M is a SUV coupe... basically a SUV that is made less practical by sloping its roof line ?just for LOOKS (which i think ruins the look). I would think the X5M would be more comparable.

    I hate those haptic feedback displays they are using in cars. They require too much focus to select the function you need. You can subconsciously remember button feel and location and use buttons with even looking at it but this requires you to look down for what you need. Not to mention if the road I uneven or bumpy, your just keep missing what you’re trying to press and press a whole bunch of other things......now you’re in sport mode, the radio is blasting, your hazards are on, your wipers are on, the sunroof is open, your seated seats are roasting you ass......all you wanted to do was to turn on the air conditioning.

    • @the-boring-car-guy

      They’re actually physical buttons in Porsche’s but it’s just under 1 surface

  • @Zuhzuhzombie
    @Zuhzuhzombie 6 лет назад +5

    From what I know, PDK doesn't have the towing capacity as the Tiptronic. Hence why you get the Tip in the Cayenne.

    • @the-boring-car-guy
      @the-boring-car-guy 6 лет назад +2

      Zuhzuhzombie thanks I was wondering why Porsche did it

    • @xkrnxboix
      @xkrnxboix 6 лет назад

      Also the gearing on the PDK is not suitable for off-roading/climbing huge gradients. The 8-Speed Tip also does not need its separate low-ratio since its 1st gear is low.

    Hello Moto-Man So thrilled your reviewing the all new Cayenne!! Iv'e been scouring the Internet to find out more about the new model. It's the car I'm focused on purchasing roughly this time next year. Currently I'm driving a 2014 Mercedes ML 350 and i do love the car but want something more powerful and drives more like a sports car than an SUV! I'm zeroing in on the 2.9 twin turbo S model. Feeling like that's in a good place and a step up in power and performance from what I'm currently driving. I would love to hear your thoughts and comments and do you think it's a good place to be? Loving your channel and watch religiously for insight and honest reviews!

      Thanks for watching! You are going to see two further episodes from Greece . . . Today you will see the 2.9S FIRST DRIVE REVIEW and then next week you will see the Turbo. Something tells me a VERY clear answer lies in one of those episodes.

    Motoman, you can split the main screen when you have Apple CarPlay open. Just click on the small triangle on the right and you will get a 2/3 - 1/3 split.

    I'm waiting for the PHEV version since I live in NYC. That way I don't have to warm up the car during winter. However, it must have the roaring engine sound. I can't tell the difference between base and turbo anymore since they are very similar. I have a 2013 Cayenne GTS that I love. The front looks like a mean cobra. Gts looked much more masculine that the base.

    Always stepping up their game. Porsche is still the king of options too. No wonder they're the most profitable car company around. I wonder if the active spoiler is shared with the Sport Turismo. They look very similar.

    I dont mind the electronic controls, except on basic features. I feel like AC/Heat/Blower should be knobs and radio controls should be knobs. Audi has done the best job of this mixture in their cars. I wish Porsche would take more tech from Audi in this regard.

    plan on getting the " S " version. The turbo model is just too much HP for me and not needed for my driving style and i want more than a normal Cayenne with a 4000+ pound car. I love this car and have my eyes set on it soon and already know what I want on it. Been playing around with the builder calculator. Wish they made more colors though.

    I would rather have the Base with 10k more options than getting the S. A daily driver SUV does not need more than 300hp esp if it is under 4500lbs. That extra $10k of options, if chosen well, can go a long way on enjoying the car even more. I have the 958 3.6VR6 Cayenne and am satisfied with its power and towing capacity of 7700lbs.

    I'm concerned by this new trend in having touch screen everything. Audi is doing this and so is Land Rover in the new velar and RR/RRS facelift. I like buttons and switches and hate finger prints but if everybody is doing it what do you do?

      I can't say that I understand Porsche when it comes to this. What's the reason for not having it? For example, BMW and Mercedes has had that for yeeeears now and it becomes standard in more and more new cars and i'm not even talking premium brands...
      It really enhances the experience and driving a lot more in my opinion.

    Bout darn time you did a video in Griechenland, M!In a perfect world I'd go with the V8 turbo, but in reality neither ... I don't like the new Cayenne, M. it feels like a step backwards in design, for me the 07-10 Cayenne 957 was the best Cayenne ... especially the GTS & Magnum models, No Cayenne ever since attracted me the same ... definitely not the Jellybean Cayenne.

    If you have Greek and German connections, why not a little Metric thrown in? The continent of Europe (not just the EU) has a population of 700m , more than double that of the US >300m ; on top of that you have Australia and Canada plus THE REST OF THE WORLD who only do metric.

      Nah you're right though metrics are superior, but maybe we Americans watch AutoTubers more consistently idk, also MPH is a better unit than KPH, same deal with ft.-lbs. vs. NM, lower numbers allow one to quantify theoretical performance in a more accurate manner.
