    Surely the "S" is best all-rounder ?

  • @mergnart
    @mergnart 4 года назад +4

    I bought the S this past January. It is a 2019. Love it. Replaces a 2008 S v8 that had 125,000 miles. Wanted more bells and whistles.

    No, no, no and NO ! I am on my 5th Cayenne and I assure you that the Turbo is far more car than the other two. You cannot judge the Turbo by it's list of features. You must regard the sum of all the parts in a fantastic combination of power, handeling, and creature comforts. If you wanted three cars in one then the Turbo is the only car to buy.

      I am on #2 Cayenne and 911 both. I completely agree!

      wow 5 cayennes that is a lot. considering that there are only 3 generations of them. i am on my 2nd 911 and my wife has a Macan Turbo. Looking into a Cayenne S for my wife soon. Porsche makes fantastic SUVs. They drive mysteriously well for their size...

    I was thinking about getting the S, but then I saw the turbo and realized that I can’t even afford the base.

    Bloody great review guys. Just about to buy my first Porsche Cayenne (my first Porsche) and this has been invaluable to me back here in Pommie land. As for you guys, male a bee line for Englandshire, you'd be great presenters on 'Top Gear' which died a death when Clarkson and Co were shipped out.

    With the speed limit maximum of the whole country @130 km for NT Stuart, Barkly, Arnhem and Victoria highways, the base model is as good as the twice as much priced turbo v8.

  • @9481325
    @9481325 4 года назад

    i write having not seen the review previously and having purchased the Base 2019 Cayenne. i added several options but only chose the 20" wheels. I traded in my 2003, 911 Cabriolet as age and family are more my focus these days. I must say that 6 months into ownership I am not evenly remotely disappointed. The options serve all my desires, though I would add soft close doors today, and the handling while up to 911 standards far exceed any other vehicle I have driven. If the obviously visible level of quality workmanship holds up for all the hidden stresses of daily use, the investment in the spruced up base is more than successful

    I think your points are largely valid if you look at things on a facts and logical basis but as we all know when it comes to cars and more so Porsche’s (even the SUV’s) afore mentioned facts etc play a back seat in reasoning and that’s how it should be too, long windedly I’m saying the S model is the sweet spot with some key upgrades but then again it might just pay to wait for the GTS version perhaps...

    I have the 2011 cayenne S. It’s a V8 with 15,000 miles but I have been getting a check engine light on. Replaced fuel high pressure pump and I drove another 50miles check engine light back on again. Gee..
    gas cap light on. Extended Warranty expired a few month ago. Always happen like this.

    In a Money no object world Turbo all the way, in the Real world The Base with few options is all you need. Not long ago 6.2 sec 0-100 was fast sports car territory and with all the restrictions and cameras it is hard to explore even the base to its full potential.

  • @elroz1675

    base cayenne with chrono package was recorded with a 5.0 sec to 60 mph by car and driver and by motor trend. that is not at all slow.

    Many people say that a BMW is a better value. It is, so is a Jeep. It's all about brand and the exclusiveness of it. I drive my children to school and people look at my Cayenne but not the X5 because there is so many of it. In a ten minute drive I saw about 5 X5s. If I can get an Urus, it will be even better. There's a car for everyone.

    Forget Porsche cayenne go for a excellent SUV that's way more reliable and way cheaper to run and parts that don't cost a mortgage try a Lexus rx an absolutely fantastic choice I bought a new rx way back in 2008 no problems what so ever and with 346000 miles on it I'm hoping for 500000 mile yeah that's right half a million miles ,your Porsche cayenne would be in the scrap yard years ago and you would also be penniless ,,so take the advice from a 44 year old Mechanic and buy the best and most reliable vehicle on the planet and you won't be disappointed ,,,,s

    You can get a nicely optioned Audi SQ7 for almost 100k less than the Turbo with a more efficient V8, more Torque and nearly the same class leading tech and underlying platform.

    The only benefit of buying this car is to Brag about you have a Porsche, if you are not into that kinda thing, get the new X5, it’s by far the most bang for your buck choice.

    • @GooseVan
      @GooseVan 6 лет назад +5

      X5 has better drivetrain, but cayenne has better suspension, steering and quality. Overall, cayenne is a bit better and price isn't much more than x5.

    • @Tomoyo0827
      @Tomoyo0827 6 лет назад +2

      Cayenne comes with a back camera, that's it, everything is an option, you need to spend 15,000 easily on necessary options, if you wanna a bit luxury, you are spending more than 150,000 on an entry-level Cayenne. With 150,000, you get an X5 30d with everything you ever need, and possibly an M50d (Top range currently) if you can make a deal which is cheaper, bigger, faster and has better tech.

    • @Raul-ll3yk
      @Raul-ll3yk 6 лет назад +1

      YX Yang What are you talking about ? I’m confuse. Here in the U.S the entry level cayenne starts at $68k the S $82k and the turbo $124k.... Hybrid $80k

    • @GooseVan
      @GooseVan 6 лет назад +1

      when you spec them similarly, the price isn't too far off. BMW does give more discount. the cayenne is a bit more expensive, a bit better. I have both.

    • @Tomoyo0827
      @Tomoyo0827 6 лет назад

      The luxury car tax in Australia is so high it's unbelievable. A 75D Tesla is 140,000 AUD here, that's more than 100,000 USD, 50,000 more than you paid in the US.
