    ►💪 Are you a personal trainer? Wish you spent less on continuing education credits? Me too!
    That's why I spent a few dozen hours sorting them by cost in order to find the cheapest courses. You can find my results in the table below (I made it for ACE because that's who I'm certified with, but most courses apply to other organizations as well):

    ...
    I think I screwed up on this...for the RO-T8's, the further you are from the paddle handles, the heavier the weight feels (the closer, the lighter). Sorry for any confusion!
    Ok, if you don't want to wait around for the verdict, I like the Spud bar better ($99) and the Prime RO-T8 2.0 paddle handles better ($125). Fortunately, you can use the Spud Bar with the Prime Handles, which is a bit cheaper than buying both long and short prime bars with the handles ($225 vs $265).
    I talk about combining them here for the best bang for the buck: 7:00

    2 things: 1) On the RO-T8's the further you are from the handles, the harder it gets...sorry for any confusion. 2) For the verdict on which I like better, jump to 7:00 (spoiler: I combine them for best of both worlds for better value).

    4:35 - The PRIME long/short bars provide a 'captured' environment for the carabiners to attach to. While this may not be as important when performing a lat pulldown move (with gravity helping out) the PRIME set-up is going to have the advantage when performing horizontal cable rows vs. the SPUD set-up. This concern is completely eliminated if the Ironmaster "Ultimate Row Handle" attachment is used instead of the SPUD Saw or PRIME RO-T8 Long/Short Bars.

    For a meathead plus gym gadget nerd like myself, it really doesn't get better than this video. I have all these pieces myself, and I couldn't agree more with your conclusion. Really enjoying your videos brother, thanks!

      Also, never knew/considered the cable could be attached to the other holes on the RO-T8 - that is genius!

    • @Yayayabetbetbet
      @Yayayabetbetbet 4 года назад

      Okay let’s really figure out if they can be attached to the other holes. I honestly think it’s just to reduce weight personally. If it was for that, wouldn’t they be a circle like the first hole? Or shouldnt the first hole be the other shape? I’ve tried the other holes and I can’t figure out a reason to use them or how it would make sense. I’ll ask Kassem Hanson maybe.

      I got a reply from prime themselves. It’s cosmetic and weight reduction like I thought

    While I wait for PRIME Fitness to re-release their RO-T8 accessories in limited edition "N1 Blue" color again someday, in the interim, I plan to emulate the "Prime Fitness RO-T8 Bars vs Spud Lat Saw" cable attachment set-ups by employing the $119.00, adjustable, Ironmaster "Ultimate Row Handle" along with my Trak Fitness "TrakHandle Sport" handles (attached to it via properly-rated carabiners from a local home improvement store.) TrakHandle Sport handles are sold directly from TrakFitness as well as via the EliteFTS website. They also can be found on Keiser Functional Trainers and some Tuffstuff Fitness cable machines.

      The holes also add air flow resistance, and stuff...maybe

    Do you happen to know what the rotating piece is called that attached the two carabiners for the prime system? You can't get that unless you actually buy one of the prime bars. The rot8s come with a carabiner each, but not the swivel piece.

      I like the gym pin but it's a hassle to switch holes for differwnt grips. The ones with open holes seem way easier to adjust

    I believe U might should've done another take for your sake and for Prime's. Kinda realistic though, I've never seen a reviewer butcher a video so bad and then send it out to the public so U get an A+ for originality but not sure Prime appreciates it as much as I do.

    • @ThreeStormFitness
      @ThreeStormFitness  Год назад

      Hey Bobby, despite your sarcasm (which I can appreciate), you seem pretty sincere. That said, would you mind elaborating on how I butchered this?
      Edit: OK. I just rewatched it...you might be talking about the part where I literally said "I butchered it"...I corrected it in a pinned comment. Take care

    Awesome review. I was recently wondering about the Spud Lat Saw vs the Prime stuff. I'm gonna be buying the Prime functional trainer and I'm trying to decide on attachments. Your video was a big help! A fellow youtuber, John B, asked in a comment about the rotating piece that attaches the two carabiners together. Can you buy that from Prime, or maybe a generic one you know of? Also, have you tried the Prime 4N1 bar, the Prime spreader bar, or the Prime KAZ handles? I guess I should just ask, what attachments would you buy from Prime to go with their functional trainer, if you were buying?

    • @ThreeStormFitness
      @ThreeStormFitness  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback! I don't know for sure if you can buy the rotating piece separately...I haven't been able to find it on their site. I would shoot them an email and see if they have something for you (they've been responsive for me in the past)
      I've used the 4N1, and I love it (though I think I like the small 3N1 even better...just feel a better contraction...could be a personal thing). The spreader bar is excellent. I actually reviewed it a while back (though someone pointed out I was using it upside down, so take my opinion with a grain of salt...here's the review: ruclips.net/video/nltTQEVtfm8/видео.html )
      I've used the KAZ grips before with the Prime trap bar, but never with a functional trainer. They're well made, and if I was doing lots of grip work, I'd consider buying them, but them, but for my money, I'd see what I can accomplish without them first.
      Generally speaking, I love Prime stuff...all very well made, and they do a good job of filling an ergonomic/ROM niche. On the flip, you definitely pay a premium for it!
      Thanks for watching man!

      @@ThreeStormFitnessThanks for your reply. Since the Prime functional trainer has two movable arms and is so functional, I'm thinking maybe all I really need are the KAZ handles and the T8 handles. You can adjust the arms to where they are only 16 inches away from each other, and at various heights, so I'm thinking I should be able to get my pulling exercises accomplished with the T8 handles, without any of the attachments that are really aimed for single pulley systems. Although, it may be a little difficult during lat pull down movements with two totally independent handles.
      What do you think?
      Also, from my understanding, the KAZ handles are mostly intended for pushing exercises, however, they probably would help with grip strength when pulling. I'm mostly interested in the Prime functional trainer due to its ability for the arms to move horizontally so I can hit my chest from every angle. I want the KAZ handles for pressing, pressing/crossover and crossover movements.
      I'm trying to buy the least amount of attachments I need for the machine, so I can save some money, but I want to get all the attachments I will need to save on shipping.

      Hey Richard, at 7:00 or so, I demo a few reps. I made a very extensive lat saw review here: ruclips.net/video/nRSEsp4E3oM/видео.html
      That video explains a bit more how to use. Usage of the prime bar is virtually the same in terms of function.
      Thanks!

  • @bcarter9252

    Spud bar isn't going to work as well for seated lat rows. Also you have the small prime bar, not really a fair comparison. Lastly, look at the Prime KAZ handles for an ergonomic advantage over the spud plastic
