I think it really depends on how you plan to read it. I could see it working either way. If you go with one copy, you can make it fun by reading a chapter together and then doing the exercises. If you need to write something down, you can each just have your own journal. If you both prefer to read it at your own pace/time and then come together to share your thoughts and notes on your exercises then getting two copies works. I'd say consider what would work best for you both.
