I believe there is a lot of utility, and I-frames left on the table by not using fearless attitude. You can gain a full bar of PP back weaving it in your PA rotations. Your legitimately invulnerable after the strong normal, on top of the fearless attitude bubble animation, That's long time to be invulnerable. The easiest usage of fearless A., I found is using it after the powerful normal attack strong stike. The I-frame animation are like 3 or maybe 4 seconds ( I haven't counted, but the window is long). However, you have to be willing to (not attack) wait for in coming attacks. It also suspends you in the air, allowing you to maintain position for more counters, this does take a little bit more intuitive playing and watching, but I found it to be a more synergistic play style in using the katana once master.
I found the best way to wave FA is to not actively look to use it, but just use it if you end up in a situation where you can use it, like you just finished a 3rd strike and know and attack its coming next. Instead of actively keeping it on your mind and slowing down on purpose just to see if you can weave one
Kinda hate how awesome this class is. I started off as ranger, but now thanks to this guide I'm absolutely shredding anything i come across! It'll be hard to switch classes once this is maxed 😭
I like when these guides also explain the situations when each PA should be used. However i do admit you should have talked about fearless attitude too since it's something a lot of br still have problems with but its worth mastering since you can also chain it into empowered normal and it gives back approximately 80pp back when done correctly
A pretty safe combo I really like to use to save PP and still do good damage is 2 Silverleaf into an Lotus with the combo finish. Tons of frames to counter and the 3rd step on the Lotus does great damage. Also the Finisher doesn't count for offensive PP recovery so you would want natural PP recovery to maximize your PP.
omg Keroo thank you so so much. I always hated Katana cause I didn't know how to paly with it at all and it kept bothering me for weeks, but thanx to your video now I'm very good at it and enjoying it very very much.
Well, for a full class guide I gotta say, solid 5/10 guide. Forgot to talk about bows, and bow PAs. For a katana guide, probably 10/10, no idea, I was only looking for bow info.
a neat way to use the empowered normal attack when fighting daityls is to lock on to their back canister thing while you're in front of them attacking their chest, and use the empowered normal to deal damage to it without having to constantly reposition yourself
The imbalance between top and bottom classes is getting insane as in almost every other Asian game. Honestly I thought NGS will be better than that, but not gonna lie, how broken katana is compared to the weaker weapons now makes me think of quitting. Maybe time to look for a game with no classes because devs deliberately making certain classes broken instead of at least trying to balance made me fed up. There's no way they could have made katana this buffed and broken if they were trying to balance.
They aren't trying to balance. Their plans have always been to haphazardly update different classes and have power spikes along the way. This has been true since the original PSO2jp. It would not surprise anybody if Braver falls behind a year from now, then everyone would just have something else to complain about. From a game design perspective, albeit not a good one, this gets people to think one class is the best then level that one each time there's a new best. Repeat ad nauseum. When another class becomes the best, players are convinced to invest time leveling a new one and therefore spending more time on the game. It's already happening with players switching to Braver. In a few months, it'll be another class.
@@victornguyen1175 That's still dumb as hell why would they want to intentionally annoy people with balance like this. If katana gets abandoned, then those players will also get mad and fully understandable, it's toxic way of balancing imo
Is it really balance in terms of dps? Or overall usefulness in a group setting? Not all classes are meant to dish out insane amounts of dmg, some are intended to be support. I think people just tend to get carried away with the numbers they do to a mob vs another players dmg. Sure some classes are more sought after for purple triggers and such, but it isn’t impossible with non “meta” classes.
@@robmauk362 No I am counting not just damage, but AoE and mobility as well - but katana has it all in one weapon too (fighter needs to multi weap). There's not any significant "support" in NGS other than Techter and Ranger, but I am not comparing their solo dps with katana anyway. If a class is much more desirable in purples or dark falz r2, basically the "end game" content, then that's exactly the imbalance problem. What other content would the ditched classes be better at? Can't think of anything lol
@@mjdiaz2085 Yeah I always accidentally call Braver Katana by just the class Braver when I forgot Braver also have Bow which to be honest still isn't as smooth as I want it to be in comparison.
@Tsuru Tsuru Well you could say the argument about Katana and Rods being loved because of the Otaku culture about Katanas being the weapon of choice while Mahou Shoujo(Magical Girls) is pretty overpowered as well from their point of view. Sadly they left out Spear which was supposed to be a Japanese Naginata like weapon but man it just feels so clunky when you can wield a Sword much faster than that of the Spear's normal of all things.

A large reason is the ridiculous grind or luck for 7*, and katana is a melee weapon that I feel doesn't really need to have a multi to get the best out of it so I only need one 7* to be all set.
when we got the infos we were really hyped about it and thought braver got the most buff again but a little bit after that we got mistaken. Braver, gunner, ranger just shares the dps these classes didnt got good buffs sadly compared to the other classes which do way more dps over time.
@Tsuru Tsuru well the 3 classes sharing the same dmg calculations for the last places from all 8 classes bouncer/techer/fighter coming after that Force reached the 2nd place and hunter is 1st place now in terms of dps and dmg overall.
Thanks to you man I have actually become a Braver main and absolutely love it. Plus a lot of what I've learned in PSO2 NG so far has been from you. I main hunter and sub braver but because I main hunter for the tanky stuff while braver skills only require braver weapons, I just use the katana and bow and it does wonders when I combine omnidirectional guard and mighty guard, war cry and hunter’s physique, then if I want to dps, since I just have braver weapons, I use braver combat.
Please put Katana Braver for the title, and specify that you are only covering Katana Braver. Calling this a “Braver” guide when you are only covering half the movesets and half the weapons, is very misleading.
@Death Inquisitor Again, exactly as the comment says, it’s only about a misleading and false title. It really is a lie to call it a Braver guide if it’s only covering Katana Braver. No one has an issue that the guide only covers Katana, it’s just not cool to have a misleading and click-baity title.
The new katana PA is an absolute godsend. My main complaint with the katana was a lack of dashing abilities, and now we can finally get right back in the face of those annoying enemies that keep jumping around. The new bow PA is good for damage dealing, but is very risky due to being unable to cancel the charged version once you release it. That new special attack after a counterattack or stage 3 PA is very good too. Improves PP efficiency when you're on offense and adds damage, PP charge, and a ton of extra invincibility frames on both perfect guard and Fearless Attitude counterattacks.
while its true that silverleaf is safer than lotus you should really mention that optimizing dmg would be minimizing silverleaf and maximizing lotus uses. pp isn't a big concern because of fearless and even less so if you run fo sub. also it can be better to cancel your combo finish or counter plus if you can get another counter instead of just sitting in the s.
Hey @keroppi I've been experimenting with using Gunner (Twin) as my main and I use Braver Katana as second (Nero build from Devil May Cry lol) and I noticed you didn't need to use Braver's WA as the meta works already, in your opinion what would be the optimal loadout for this duo?
