An observation on the skip arts: both are valid in the same build. I spam uppercut when the enemy isn't down, which allows same skip to be used. If the mob moves slightly (think frogga hop) during uppercut, then I'll spin once to reposition, which then allows different art skip. Hell, I'll use an uppercut after the rekka if I know the mob will get up before I can get another rekka in, which also allows different skip. That 5th hit is so powerful its nice to have access to it quickly in a variety of situations.

I should say this. My time as a hero in PSO2 has caused me to dodge on instinct at times. But I love the Hunter in this game. They're a mix of Hunter and Hero from PSO2. Plus with the Multi Weapon, it's possible to get the Hero setup.

Small correction: Sword Guard Counter Plus does not in fact do the x hit of basic attack but its own variant. Yes it does look the same as the last hit but is in fact separate from it. You can easily verify this as said attack still comes out with no damage loss even if you don't have the point invested for it for the normal chain. It also features different damage value when compared directly to said hit from your chain.
Also I just noticed another error: String attack point adds 2 attacks not one. Normal sword chain is 3 hits not 4. EDIT: Also Cattleya has more potency hands down. Potencies are multiplicative so in fact at full hp Cattleya is SLIGHTLY more potency. This has been verified over on the discord server with proof of hits at maximum weapon upgrade where Cattleya had slightly higher hit. This btw applies to any potency increases. You got Magnus and Might? Multiplicative. Every single separate potency is multiplicative just like in base pso2.
Nice vid. Would love to see counter Fo guide. Some helpful more tips Ive found useful as a Hunter main. If you miss the perfect parry, Hunter Avenger gives you hyper armor to allow you to follow through with ur PA. Charging Caliber Streak mid-air will keep you afloat the whole time just like if you held auto attack in the air. The 3rd atrack on Caliber Streak is a straight horizontal swing but you can hit things above or below as if it was a vertical swing. You can extend the inframes of ur counter by delaying your counter attack plus. Long enough to be immune bujin's sphere with just 2 counters and land the counter plus hit as he appears. I think DR caps at 85%. Didnt do any hard testing but with my gear and hunter physique I'm well over 100% dr. Or the dr from flash guard/hunters physique are calculated differently.
I didn't learn until today that Caliber Streak was a 3 part attack...I always just thought it was a single swing that cost a lot of PP to cast so it was originally my least favorite PA. Additionally, the non-charged attacks are also 3 parts: Repeatedly pressing the button will do 3 different attacks each time, and it will only use PP on the first swing (Similar to how the charged attacks will cost PP on the first swing only).

as a caster main i decided to set my player UI to Name/ HP/ MP. i want to use my AOE heals to ensure we all make it through the fight. unless you're coordinating with a party, dont rely on any buffs that rely on having 50% or less HP.
I use the exact same Augments on Sword except I replaced Alts Secreta II with Gigas Might II and I have Might III instead of I This negates the negative stats from Secreta: -10 HP & -1.5% Damage Resistance And the +2% DMG Resistance from Forms Soul II can be accounted to counter: Straga Potention's -10% Damage Resistance And when You unlocked the Lv.4 Potential of Straga, the -10% Damage Resistance becomes -8% So Forms Soul's +2% DMG Resist + Straga's Lv.4 Potential = -6% Damage Resistance AND You can also Use Forms Soul II on you're Other 3 Armors, Which Means +2% Damage Resistance x 3 Armor = +6% Damage Resistance. Therefore, Completely negating the remaining -6% Damage Resistance of a Lv.4 Straga Potential Hope This Helps
Definitely some good augments, but for me personally I like Giga might II, Alts Secreta II, forms soul II and might III. That increase to floor potency on top of your other high potency augments nets you a pretty nearly minimum if you have decent gear.
@@0ni5ause 2 vialto 1 Geant, the 50% increase isn't noticeable until you hit the 100% mark with two pieces. The double vialto allows for the increase in hp, and damage reduction which allows you to hyper focus potency augments. I might upgrade another geant piece just to give me something to do. Also having hunter main, and 3+ points in flash guard just make the defense downsides unnoticeable especially if ya throw forms soul II on all your gear. PP isn't an issue for hunters as of rn, so no need to focus on that.

I build my hunter to have a ton of effective health. Its really easy to stack dr with flash guard at 10, vialto units give 1% and augs can easily go up to 5% per item. That'll be 43% dr, stacking that with extra health and defense from the hunter class and augs, you can laugh at all damage. I can take 2 hits from gigantix with this build and have around 30 health (some giga Daityl atacks will drop me just below half). One point in hunter physique for an extra 50% dr will make you practically invincible. Regular sword blocking with this build basically absorbs all damage, the worst attacks from the Nex Vera will hardly scratch you. I'm still good with the counterplay and can put out alot of damage, but being basically indestructible is great!
@@_Zeox I go with the Catoria Sword since its really easy to keep your health up, the dr hit from the straga sword sucks with a tank build and you dont loose too much potency without it.
If you're looking to get into melee combat in this game and want the safety of being tanky, this is absolutely the perfect build. Something you didn't mention is going braver as sub class. Sink a bunch of points into the resta and heal on recovery skills, and you can recover obscene amounts of health very quickly. With food focused on defense and health recovery, my hunter is rocking over 600 health, recovering 60 health every time I'm knocked down, and restasigne recovers like 420 a pop. I don't like to get hurt, so I put all my stuff into defense lol. It's pretty fun!
Thanks for making a good description of the skill tree. Needed that. *NOTE*: you can do that after photon blasting skill. Also pettas gun, sword, and axe are the best to practice your skills on.
@@RunicRhino22 they are programed to attack once they stopped moving. Another thing, never look for your character doing the dodge action or block action that messes with your timing. Once you see the attack coming you will know and you will automatically see it all happen.
I think I'm missing something. I have 1330bp and a counter with my +40 catalaya sword hits for only 500... what am I doing wrong? I have about 17% less potency but that shouldn't cause a 75% damage drop. Help!
Formerly used a cat sword affixa 4 attack until i got a straga sword with affixa 3 attack to drop. The 5% hp buff is up till after you drop below 95% of your max hp, and from there it begins decreasing rapidly. Healing is easy to come by, but you will have downtime overall. In all honesty I was hesitant with the straga weapons, but tbh I'm only taking 7 more hit points per attack . Which when at 430hp it really isn't noticeable, especially when ya have flash guard lmao. Overall tho Cat swords will be the easiest go to since they're far more simple to farm for casual players.
Only died 2x so far on giga using hunter and use warcry to agro. Mainly due to underestimated the sting ray small bullets that was casted lik 10 or 20 of it which I tried to parry... Parry is good if the enemy doesnt attack once. Counter is good when enemy attacks multiple times in rapid succession.

You see it pointless as you clearly wouldnt build for the role of aggro tank. The value in an aggro draw is situational, but serves a specific purpose. Min maxing will always point you to dps, doesnt mean everyone has to be a dps role.

I keep seeing everywhere people saying the 4 star weapons are what you should be going for. Why is no one paying attention to the 3 stars with fixa that are 4+. I am not at home so I cant look right now, but i think the difference in damage numbers between an non augmented +40 4* and +40 3* is like 17 points. Am I wrong to think that the +4.5% potency from fixa attack 4 is better than the 17 extra points of damage on the 4*?
I highly recommend not spending 3 points in flash guard, just put 1 in. The 2nd and 3rd points are basically useless, as the first point gives you 10% damage reduction, and the 2nd and 3rd only add another 1% each. As you learn more about the game you WILL undoubtedly find a better use for those 2 points, such as some of the wired weapon attack skills. Notable the one that changes the behaviour of hte wired weapon behaviour when you are holding down a directional key, that attack is insane for AoE mob clearing and even a sword-main hunter should be using it when there's many mobs around.
I prefer Force for more PP. Gunner offers PP but not as much as Force. Fighter is meh - low pp and reg enemies dont get downed. bosses are downed for like 10% of the fight at most, so you don't get that much more overall damage. Techter offers a teeny tiny bit more PB gauge, but it's not enough to PB twice in a boss fight or pse burst, so it might as well be zero. Ranger is the worst subclass and offers basically nothing.

I was deciding whether to main fighter or hunter then I realize the hunter is bloody ass good for farming by spamming the spin PA especially during pse burst. it's way faster than saber. but, i still use saber especially when I need to fight bosses as it does faster damage, skill cancellation through counters and off course, more damage in terms of speed. I was deciding whether to get straga sword but I believe a fixa 3 cattleya would do better and straga saber got cheaper in the market atm at 27k which I found one yesterday :D
no points in hunter physique, all points in flash guard, the rest is the same as Kero's actual build, I do a ton of damage and take almost none. Also boost your PP recovery by taking Gunner as sub and the non-main class passive skills PS: not saying my build is best, or anything, I'm just sharing my 2 cents here
Resurgir lasts for 30seconds, its not that hard to throw out a dodge rather then a counter every now and then, not sure why everyone shits on it but w/e
I'd like to see a vid with possible sub class combos and why you'd do that. I was thinking hunter/techter with a cattleya sword/wand multi weapon. I'm still more confused on sub classes and multi weapons than i'd like to be tho. not sure if it's because i'm new to the PSO2 universe, if NGS just doesn't have enough utility in sub classes yet or i'm just thick braining it
Well you get a 10% damage boost when using a main class weapon, tech tee does give shifts/deband which is a 5% for whole party which mitigates it, but if there is another techter it’s wasted. Though you do get some ranged options with techs or talis if you don’t want to chase the boss if it’s flying around.
I’m gna stop playing ngs till bravers release, Just gna take advantage of being able to sell things on the pso2 market and get what I need, can’t be asked to put more time into a class/cac that won’t be my main. Plus want to do the whole story as braver/force, with the katana and tails

If you want awsome elevation: use a multi weapon sword+wired lance! WL have a grapple hook that allows you to reach all spots on the enermy

Drop Warcry it doesn't do anything as of now according to testing put that point somewhere else.

You have to time the weapon action! There is a special pattern/ timing for it.

I was deciding whether to main fighter or hunter then I realize the hunter is bloody ass good for farming by spamming the spin PA especially during pse burst. it's way faster than saber. but, i still use saber especially when I need to fight bosses as it does faster damage, skill cancellation through counters and off course, more damage in terms of speed. I was deciding whether to get straga sword but I believe a fixa 3 cattleya would do better and straga saber got cheaper in the market atm at 27k which I found one yesterday :D

no points in hunter physique, all points in flash guard, the rest is the same as Kero's actual build, I do a ton of damage and take almost none. Also boost your PP recovery by taking Gunner as sub and the non-main class passive skills

Resurgir lasts for 30seconds, its not that hard to throw out a dodge rather then a counter every now and then, not sure why everyone shits on it but w/e

I'd like to see a vid with possible sub class combos and why you'd do that. I was thinking hunter/techter with a cattleya sword/wand multi weapon. I'm still more confused on sub classes and multi weapons than i'd like to be tho. not sure if it's because i'm new to the PSO2 universe, if NGS just doesn't have enough utility in sub classes yet or i'm just thick braining it
on second thought it may be techter/hunter with a sword/wand multi i'm looking to go just not sure if i'm nerfing my sword dmg by doing this tho
Well you get a 10% damage boost when using a main class weapon, tech tee does give shifts/deband which is a 5% for whole party which mitigates it, but if there is another techter it’s wasted. Though you do get some ranged options with techs or talis if you don’t want to chase the boss if it’s flying around.
