Interesting point, however, you sound like you worked at Souplantation and weren’t allowed near the pizza section after fourteen citations and CCTV footage of the ‘incidents.’
This explains SO much. I was trying to figure out how a weapon that creates a bigger AOE would create beam chains... This clears everything up so much. Definitely will Forma my Torid a couple more times to be able slot this in.
Ironicly also the best review of the torrid incarnon, instead of just a brainrot build, you actually explain the mechanics and how the mechanics applies to the weapon. Would love to see more weapon reviews about obscure mechincs That weapons can have.

So basically, the initial targeting AOE of the beam is considered an explosion, so bigger AOE just means it can hit more initial targets to chain to, instead of increasing individual beam chain length. Good video, took me a minute to wrap my head around it
This video explains to me why I felt my corrosive cold build felt underwhelming on the Torid. Multishot not applying is significant when the Frostbite adds multishot.
Galv aptitude is fine (minus the weird exceptions) once you learn the basic rules. For hitscan weapons it's additive to base damage like serration or primary merciless (i.e. damage is 1 + (165% + 80%) = 245%) For projectile weapons, on direct impact, it's multiplicative to base damage (i.e. (1+165%) * (1+80%) = 477%) And for AoE weapons, it does nothing. this is an incredibly informative video. honestly, every torid user should see this video. well done! this is far more in-depth than almost any other guide or explanation i've seen on warframe.
Fantastic video! Good way to make it visually digestable too! I knew it felt good using it, I knew I was hitting more targets, I never knew why! And that is now clear!

This is not only one of, maybe THE, best Torid videos I've seen but it's one of the best videos I've seen on any WF mechanic. Very informative! Now I'll check out some more 👍
@fev3rd Yeah exactly, that's why videos like this are awesome- If it overkills the 4 dudes you're pointing at anyway, understanding the mechanics to go for 8 instead is the way to go, even if you have to drop an extra damage mod
This is some very useful information. Hopefully other content creators decide to make a follow-up video correcting the misinformation for those who dont see this.
Thank you so much for this info, this clears up a lot of questions I have had about the torid incarnon. Also it shows how messy the weapons chaining mechanics are behind the scenes. Granted the Torid incarnon does so much direct damage that even a DOT build still kills mostly from direct damage instead of the DOT's doing the heavy lifting, or it might just be my +dmg multishot and CC, +recoil riven talking
Damn you for those last two sentences Malurth! That was exactly what I was wondering! Great video, love the highly detailed and actually tested content meant to explain concepts to idiots like me. That visual representation was quality stuff.
legend. fucking, legend. I dont even fuckin' have the Torid yet. but but the effort and care put into this video, is fucking INSANE 10/10 instant subscribe
Nice, actual information. I don't run Primed Firestorm anymore personally because I just haven't found it necessary. If I didn't have a Riven it would probably slot in but I run a blast Torid and it's extremely uncommon that there are groups of enemies that don't evaporate already.
The moment you showed you firing near the enemy I knew what it was about. I really didn't knew about the radius around the beam, this is an amazing find to me, specially because of my sloppy aim. Great video, man. Great video. Beautiful Equinox too. Speaking of which... Equinox vid when?
Thanks for this. It already melted crowds, but now it's just getting ridiculous. Merciless, multishot, crit, firestorm, and corrosive + blast. Legit if two or more enemies are anywhere near each other, they cease to exist
In my opinion, if you want to deal with crowds better -> use firestorm, for tougher enemies -> don't. In my opinion, torid doesn't ever struggle with crowds, only sometimes with high level eximus/bosses, where firestorm doesn't do anything... So I generally don't use firestorm.
Nice vid just for the sim alone! I like it and it works pretty well, but I don’t know if I can justify swapping to P Firestorm for Hunter Munitions or the addition of another status mod. A viral, slash, heat combo with Galvanized Scope can get really silly. Also, blast damage and gas damage work really well on this weapon even without P Firestorm. I would recommend P Firestorm on the Kuva Ogris and the Proboscis Cernos. Although it doesn’t change the fall off damage on the Cernos…
every single time i see a "content creator" make a video i double check on the wiki and in my own sims, its rare i come a cross an in depth video referencing the wiki it'self and didn't just talk about prime sure footed.
From my personal testing, run prime firestorm if you don't have a crit damage riven. If you do have a CD riven, you kill groups far faster by slotting galvanized scope over firestorm

Ever since the BLAST status change I've used a BLAST/CORROSIVE build on my Torid. Assuming the wiki speaks no falsehoods, killing an enemy deals 300% base damage PER PROC. And I'm pretty sure the detonation double dips faction bonuses like bane mods and the roar ability. Although the detonation radius is less than the max chain radius, enemies will usually be close enough to each other to both chain and get hit by the multiple explosions. I use a super red crit build but I don't know if critical multipliers are factored into the 300% "base damage" explosion. If they don't, I have an alternate build that focuses on status chance to get as many procs on enemies as I can to increase the explosion damage.
Lol all the larger creators are redoing their videos to account for the work you did. I made sure to call it out. No drama, but you should be credited for doing a model to perfectly visually explain the mechanics behind what is described.
oh okay so it doesn't add extra chain length, it has the potential to add entire extra chains! i'd say i would see about slotting this into my torid, but i don't want to invest more into any infested weapons knowing what we know about what's coming

Separate question: As you briefly mentioned, the chains can apply headshots, and with the primed firestorm there is a considerable amount of extra targets getting chained. Why is Galvanized Scope not viable? Might as well ask about Galvanized Aptitude since im here :D
galvanized scope is viable, I use it on some of my builds where there's ample mod space. aptitude not so much; it's bugged so that its damage bonus ignores the incarnon base damage upgrade. and besides, Torid is single-element (no IPS) so aptitude just wouldn't scale very high anyway.
I have a few questions. Firstly let me start by saying this is a riven question. My riven is +4.4 Punchthrough +227% CC -59% status duration. My other thought is would the new mod “primary acuity” work well if just going for crit?
Punchthrough literally has 0 effect on the Torid. keep rolling that riven. primary acuity is not a terrible idea, given the Torid's inability to benefit from multishot in a lot of cases. but I still wouldn't run it, personally.
My hot take is that the torid incarnon seems to be strong in incarnon form but we all know that at the highest level of the game any downtime can be completely harmful to your run and so we need to decide how to settle the torid being quite dreadful when it's not incarnon.
