I think we’re witnessing the birth of a Black Sabbath/Bill Ward super fan. It’s never too late to realize they’re “The Beatles” of distorted guitar rock and make the majority of the other bands of the era sound like children just discovering their instruments. I love the Black Sabbath week, but you may need a month. The first 6 albums are chock full of classics, deep cuts, songs you realize other bands modeled their entire sound after, amazing guitar solos, incomprehensible lyrics, and drum and bass clinics. Looking forward to your impressions and hopefully drum covers!
I'm sure it's been suggested already but you have to check out the studio version of "The Wizard" just for the cowbell hahaha. When you hear it you'll know what I mean. A song that was also inspired by that is "Drop The Gun" by Kings Of The Sun, another one well worth checking out. Clifford Hoad and his style were a huge inspiration to me. Cheers Harro 😁🤘
I'm 62 years old and started listing to classic rock was I was 15. I really didn't understand how great this music was until now. Especially when people like Andrew Rooney and Rick Beato break down these songs for us to understand. It's great to hear Andrew say how he doesn't know how he missed hearing this music until now. Classic Rock is a priceless gift to humanity from incredibly talented people and is a treasure trove that needs to be fully explored and passed on to future generations.
too many people heard the name and went to that's the debils music when it is just a reference to a movie title. when you hear a song like After Forever it is hard to say that they are anti-religion. their first 6 albums just had no filler.
RUSH week took a year and a half or something from when you discovered them. Black Sabbath week took a month or so? Yeah that's cool. Totally cool. I'm not filled with burning resentment. Coolio. Cool beans.
I know is not black Sabbath per se but you need to listen to this mash up Sweet leaf + ela partiu a groovy 70's funk it's just perfect ruclips.net/video/fYSVbGuD5q4/видео.html
Ok Andrew, I absolutely LOVE the channel and your analysis of drumming and drummers, especially with the drumeo running but I have one little gripe. As a life long Bill Ward fan and defender I say you adopt a new policy for Sabbath. NO MORE SINGLE VIDEO REACTIONS. I think you need to take a week or so each quarter and make it a Sabbath week. And starting with Paranoid work your way through every song on every record. Then MoR, and V4, SBS, Sabotage, TE, NSD and then don’t do any Dio stuff and skip ahead to the LAST RECORD Bill Ward ever made with Sabbath. That would be 1983’s Born Again. That record will blow your mind not only with Bill’s drumming but what Geezer and Iommi do with Ian Gillen’s lyrics and vocals. Just staggering. Sorry for the long post but I think for the best Sabbath experience you need to do a record by record break down and follow the band as their music followed the times and their inclinations. As you already know, Sabbath did what Sabbath wanted to, and they did it to PERFECTION right to the end. That’s my suggestion. No more Sabbath singles. Every record, song by song even if you’ve done them already. Again, thanks for the killer channel. Bob Mopar/ Tim Brezo, Selah Washington USA
Godammit.. just came from tiktok drummer hole .. and I listen to something I tought I would never revisit AGAIN.. and know I can't stop- Vanessa Carlton A thousand miles.. The legacy behind that kit?!🥲🤯 It's in tha pocket ( as you tend to say) bjt we never noticed
Every week is Sabbath week bro.
Indeed for since1972
