- I may now have the best opal torch/lapidary torch on the market thanks to Riley Gunn aka @nnOpals or 53Frogs over on opalactions.com.
This compact beast can shoot a narrow beam of not only white light but also warm light AND UV/blacklight into your stone. You could also use it as a regular torch/blacklight for all your noodling needs.
Best part is that it is much cheaper than buying the 6 torches it can replace!!!

Riley and Grace are great ambassadors for the Aussie opal industry. Riley is a good man who is always ready to provide support. I am sure that Riley went through a number of models before landing on this torch, so it will be worth the money.
He is one of those shining stars and I'm soo glad he chose opal. Need more like him in the industry.
Mine gets super hot, even after only using it for a few seconds. And ive only used it a total of maybe an hour of acrued usage time, and I never use it longer than about 30 seconds at a time, and it isn't anywhere near as bright as it was when I first got it, even on a full charge. Riley said he is down with replacement, or refund, and that he never wants to have an unsatisfied customer. And that is very cool. I just can't justify spending the shipping cost, which is the same price as buying another one. So all in all, as an American consumer, it's not the best choice.
Man paying shipping anywhere nowadays is rough.
All of the postage I pay shipping stuff around is incredible and it goes up almost every month or two!
All my shipping prices on the website are actually now behind the actual cost and I can't be bothered increasing them $0.1 every few months to keep up.

yeah, its weird that scorpions glow under UV. amusingly, tasmanian devils also have markings that glow in ultraviolet. you should check that out.
Was always fun packing up the tent and seeing all those little baby scorpions out in the Dimboola sands.

thats a sweet little torch for sure. i have seen them on his website for a while now. i was holding off buying anything until justin gets his torches in stock. but i do know that the BOD torches wont have the yellow and black light functions on them.

I remember BOD having a torch as well but Riley's is certainly the first I have seen for 3 different lights and 2 different beam sizes.

That's great. Riley at 53 frogs is awesome. Fantastic torch. I just bid on one at 53 frogs, lol. It looks extremely useful.
I've only had it for a few days and already I am using it for everything! The narrow beam is doing amazing things with some of my fossil shells.
Fabulous of Riley Gunn but where's the red dot laser for the cat? My one has white light, UV and a red laser that can make butterfly and other shapes and it's USB charged. So there.

Haha a laser light is not a bad idea too. Then I can use it during Uni lectures and presentations as well!
i would diffently would like to get one of them. and the price very reasonable.

Man is a hell of a saleman and gets his stuff out as soon as it sells.
the amount of stuff he lists on opal auctions is amazing. Compared to other sellers stores his volumes are in another league!

Go to opalauctions and look up 53 frogs. He has them there, it’s a great light. You can also take your camera out and look at the QR on this video if you bring it up on your computer and it should take you directly to his store.
