Nowadays, I imagine there is potentially more faculty actually trying to help you depending on the facility, but it's gonna be a crap shoot, and at the end of the day everything is mired in red tape and overhead costs, so if it's too expensive or if they don't feel like it, it's probably not gonna happen... and as a criminal you have little recourse... nobody really cares if you're okay in American prisons and they are run as for-profit (often private) businesses, so they don't care if you're innocent, and they aren't trying to rehabilitate anybody for the most part either. @@kulnoorx

We don't even hold our representatives to the laws they pass, they get different healthcare than the rest of the nation, they get lines of credit to decorate their offices... Scum is a 1979 British drama film directed by Alan Clarke and starring Ray Winstone, Mick Ford, Julian Firth and John Blundell. The film portrays the brutality of life inside a British borstal. The script was originally filmed as a television play for the BBC's Play for Today series in 1977. However, due to the violence depicted, it was withdrawn from broadcast.[3] Two years later, director Alan Clarke and scriptwriter Roy Minton remade it as a film, first shown on Channel 4 in 1983.[3] By this time the borstal system had been reformed. The original TV version was eventually allowed to be aired eight years later in 1991. The film tells the story of a young offender named Carlin as he arrives at the institution and his rise through violence and self-protection to the top of the inmates' pecking order, purely as a tool to survive. Beyond Carlin's individual storyline, the film also serves as an indictment of the borstal system's flaws with no attempt at rehabilitation. The warders and convicts alike are brutalised by the system. The film's controversy arose over its graphic depiction of racism, extreme violence, rape, suicide, many fights and very strong language.

GEN Pop is scary & dangerous in most prisons but you're outside you're cell most of the day walking around & in the day room or rec room or on the yard with everyone that is locked up for everything no matter the crine wether its violent or non violent but SHU "Secure Housing" is literally u locked down 23 hours a day & all y'all are on that unit for either murdering or beating up or maming a CO (prison guard) or for other inmates so every person in there is literally a violent savage thats been cooped up all day & night so its like being in the hole 🕳️ all day except u get out for rec one hour a day & mind u you're only in the yard with the most dangerous & violent prisoners so rec time is nothing but fight mamming & sometimes killing!!!! Thats why u see all the inmates literally running out on the yard to attack someone as soon as the lock pops on the door!!!! We never fought however, i just shook my head at him like he aint shit. Banks played this role to a T! Lesson, never back down and stand up for yourself.
The guard that killed Angel had to be on camera. It looked like a hallway...hallways have cameras especially in an institution like this. I think it is weird that the kids had to cover the cameras to give payback to the bullies, but when the guard killed the kid Angel, somehow there is no camera. Really? I am so sick and tired of this stuff being the norm. Why can't there be a warning like: depressing and realistic where no one wins. Thank you. I was already having a bad day...
Sounds like it was heavily inspired by the classic British prison movie Scum. I won't spoil the film for anyone reading this, all I will say is watch the film, very gritty.
@@RiggerHippie I said heavily inspired because there are a good number of key differences: Butch and Carlin are different characters with very different backgrounds and different motivations, as I said I don't want to give away any spoilers but I will note one obvious one that's right at the start of the film, Carlin is already in the prison system when we meet him and Butch isn't.
So the key if you are being punished by a corrupt agent is: 1 Record with spy device 2 Publish it 3 If you get something Bad done to you, exaggerate as if it would be way worse with screams. This is good to victimize in Such situations, because they go to jail if such evidence gets public

People, young and old, make stupid decisions in their lives; some when they're young, others when they are old. But no matter who you are or what you've done, no one deserves to be treated the way some inmates are treated in so-called "correctional centers" (prisons). Most people on the outside have no idea the amount of abuse some inmates receive from "correctional guards" in these places. The guards are sometimes worse bullies than the inmates could ever imagine to be. No one deserves to be treated like that!

It seems to be the way most disciplinary systems. I've never been to prison but I was bullied quite badly in school. Pushed around, slapped, name calling and had stuff stolen off me. One day I just had enough and I beat the guy really badly (he was in hospital for about a week). I was the only one punished, which I understand. But this guy had been making my life miserable for years and he got treated like some innocent victim.
reminds me of when i was put in mental hospital and a bully was harassing patients, i was in there for 2 months, tried to keep to myself, and the bully thought i was prey because im quiet, he got mauled really bad, after that things got civil.
It's funny drug is easy to snuggle in side and there's always gangs in there and that's one way to get protection is to join. I can tell everyway to snuggle stuff in there lol

2# *Dog Pound* is the most accurate "Gladiator School" movie of all time thos kids were very on point too almost everything is 100% accurate in this film its a real dipiction of gladiator school for teens a place where most teens up to 25 don't wanna be , its pretty much exactly just like this movie is , you're surrounded around other young folks like u so its never a nice minute in a Gladiator camp & no silence cuz it's all teens & young folk!!!!
1# *Felon* is the most accurate "Prison" movie of all time (Val Kilmer was Oscar worthy in that film I thought he was my actual celly watchin him in that movie he gave me straight flashbacks like i was in there wit him) The SHU is literally where they take all the real gladiators when they become adults & won't ack right, theres no place more dangerous in any prison in this country!!!! Its like the *Dog Pound* movie except wit all adults & convicted murderers , gangs & violent rapests!!!!! It's a masterpiece of realism & the SHU is the last place u wanna be in any prison in the US other than Rikers Island county jail or ADX supermax in Colorado cuz it's like living in a 8x12 casket ⚰️
All the other prison films are enjoyable but way too damn Hollywood!!! U can't really make a list of top ten prison films unless u actually been locked down before so i don't expect most ppl to agree with me!!!!
Also the prison scenes in the Jeffy Dahmer show were also on point probably the most accurate wit all the lil details!!!!!
I ain't seen Shot Caller yet but i heard it was pretty good
*Bronson* is really good too!!! The movie was a true story & a masterpiece but also surprisingly hilarious too &Tom Hardys best movie & role!!!
What is gladiator school
This isn't a jail move, brah.
I remember showing my cousin this movie for the first time we really did enjoy it
If the drugs had already kicked in to that extent trust me no amount of cold salt or any kind of water would sober you up
What type of drugs did they use? Sorry totally ignorant about drugs here
@@exhaustedshadowprobably wasn’t even a narcotic, maybe just some kind of cleaning agent that sent his body into shock. But possibly bath salts
All he had to do was behave...and then he was out
all any of them had to do was behave. butch shouldve been out as soon as they found out about the guard beating up other kids. and davis's mom mightve help if she knew butch was a friend
Bull shit ..
I love this movie it made me cry no bullshit the movie name is called DOG POUND if anyone wants to know of the movie but I want to watch it again 💯🙏🏾💚💯 and it really shows what some American teens go through in America
My personal experience is that some if not all public schools are ran this way.
The schools I went were.
Lol nah
Where the heck do you live where schools have guards?
you're psychotic if you actually believe that
Where did you go to school, The Congo or something?
Man I can never forget this movie
I suffered from a bully just like Banks in High School. This guy carried 12 inch razor sharp scissors in his backpack. After 2 years of his bs, i stepped up to him. We never fought however, i just shook my head at him like he aint shit. Banks played this role to a T! Lesson, never back down and stand up for yourself.
Idk if this movie is underrated and not known about, but it should be because it was really fuckin good
The guard that killed Angel had to be on camera.
Angel was my fav too. But butch had so much heart man.
Man this is some really sad stuff. :(
Is that Spinner from Degrassi!?!
Omg it's Spinner 😲😲😱
loony looks like moe from the simpsons
Lmfao good one I honestly hate him and his goons
Don't insult Moe like that, he's a barman not a worthless coward rapist
Sounds like it was heavily inspired by the classic British prison movie Scum. I won't spoil the film for anyone reading this, all I will say is watch the film, very gritty.
Scum is something else!!
@@twakka86 it certainly is
This is a remake of Scum
@@RiggerHippie I said heavily inspired because there are a good number of key differences: Butch and Carlin are different characters with very different backgrounds and different motivations, as I said I don't want to give away any spoilers but I will note one obvious one that's right at the start of the film, Carlin is already in the prison system when we meet him and Butch isn't.
So the key if you are being punished by a corrupt agent is:
1 Record with spy device
2 Publish it
3 If you get something Bad done to you, exaggerate as if it would be way worse with screams. This is good to victimize in Such situations, because they go to jail if such evidence gets public
Thanks for giving the name of the movie.
Makes me cry that he killed himself like his homeboy wasn't gone do that shit for him anyway. Like you didn't have to tell him sht. So sad
Definitely a scum remix if you haven't watched that I recommend it brilliant film.
They better leave butch alone 😂
Oh no 😭😭😭 Davis really loved Butch, true friendship. And after all that, Butch’s situation worsens
Butch is one of the best protagonists
The movies on Tubi incase yall wanna rewatch or watch it for the first time. Dope ass movie, definitely could’ve been a second movie to this the way it ends
Movie title is Dog Pound (2010)? Nice. Added to my list.
Interesting movie review.
YOU'RE AWESOME!
BEST REGARDS!
What’s this movie called
Dog pound. It says at the beginning of the video....
Really ?
The original, Scum that this is based on, is British drama at its most brutal. It's a way more superior film...
Just a remake of Scum staring Ray Winstone
Looks like a good movie!
Never heard about this movie...
Scum with Ray Winston was the original. That film showed me "never go to prison". This a rip off. Even some names are the same.
Title please
Taylor Poulin (Banks) died in 2022
This does a good job of showing when you fuck around you’ll find out
This is just another U.S. copy cat from the British movie "Scum" from the 70s. That movie was more intense and realistic.
Hang on a minute...! This is just the plot to the 1979 British film, "Scum"! It's more or less exactly the same!
This movies it's awesome
This is a remake of SCUM
How about if you are THAT smart then punish the RIGHT person? Thanks
Young men never learn but age will make you wiser
Is that spinner from degrassi lol
I lived in a rehabilitation center for troubled youth. It is very difficult to live there, and where I am from and where I lived, we used to go hungry and frozen.😕😕😕😕
This is a Scum rip off. Even the bad guys called Banks.
VERY NEGATIVE AS THE ONES IN CHARGE INITIATE, PERPETUATE AND EAT ALL THIS NEGATIVITY.
IT IS TIME TO THINK THINK THINK FOR YOURSELVES!!!!!!!!!!×
Powerful movie .. Watched it on Tubi.
I was 14 years old when we are ran away and we got into the forest in the winter, frozen in the snow. In short, no one knows what trials we will have in life.😕😕😕. Never say that this won’t happen to me without knowing...
2:05 Fruity pebbles right there. A banana is thrust into his face and his first instinct is to open his mouth. And he looks like a young DJ Vlad to boot.
why the inmate that get abuse and bully always the one get punished? not the other way round... something is very wrong with the system
@@johndanvers2379that always happens the bully victim always get blame when they retaliate
reminds me of when i was put in mental hospital and a bully was harassing patients, i was in there for 2 months, tried to keep to myself, and the bully thought i was prey because im quiet, he got mauled really bad, after that things got civil.
This movie is highly underrated imo
Homie needed anger management lol close to getting out huh? He wanted to stay in prison . . .
Spinner from degrassi
title please
Dog pound 2010
It's funny drug is easy to snuggle in side and there's always gangs in there and that's one way to get protection is to join. I can tell everyway to snuggle stuff in there lol
Lots of snuggles hey ?
This is the American remake of a film made and then banned by the BBC called Scrum (1979)
Instead reforms criminals, the prison system creates harden criminals!
Well that was a tragic story and ending
Name movie
This movie was to good. Can't find another juvenile movie like this.
They knew how dangerous he was
This movie reminds me of Lord of the Rings, minus the ring.
😂😂👍👍 😉😉
Lord of the Flies is more like it.
@@edsloan8535 More like Mr. Poppers Penguins
I remember watching this on Netflix in 2014 before it got taken off there for whatever reason.
hi, can you do a recap for this South Korean movie called I Saw The Devil (2010)? please? pretty please?❤
What's the ending of this story?what happened to butch after?
Does a great job of showing how to defeat
Name of the movie
Prison bullies who paint stuff on your face... Wonder what else those scoundrels do to people?
This was such a good but sad movie
The dude who played Banks AKA Taylor Poulin is dead now. I read that he was murdered in Cali and these people took his body to Arizona and buried him in a desert.. He was only 30 years old. RIP Taylor. Think he got mixed up with the wrong people.
I liked this movie when it was called Colors
I really like this movie alot but the original UK version called SCUM makes this look like it was set in kindergarten.
I remember being eight or seven when I seen this and shit made me so fucking fearful to ever go to any type of prison or penitentiary system and I still am don’t get me wrong.
So this is just an American remake of "Scum" but far more inferior.
This film is based on a UK movie called Scum!
The guards know what's going on...but they tolerate it. This movie pisses me off.
That's supposed to be a juvenile detention center? There would be all kinds of lawsuits coming out of that facility. Complete fantasy.
It's a movie, bro. It's not supposed to based in reality.
I swear I know the actor that plays Davis face SOOOOO well... Idk his name but I've seen him in Alot of stuff
its spinner from degrassi
