Dude I can totally see this channel as a 789k sub channel with drumline memes and rhythm decompositions like Charles Cornell or Adam Neely. Your chill vibe really makes your content nice to watch. I mean, I've never played any percussion and I was a trumpet player when I marched, but I still can see the quality of your stuff. Best of luck my guy
Is that a Spirit necklace? I marched snare at Spirit during the Tom Float era. 1980 Cool if you did. Nice to see younger guys still drumming and teaching others.
@@AustinWeeks Spirit was and is a special place. I saw Spirit at my first DCI show as a senior in high school along with the top 12 at Fulton County Stadium in 1978. My life was changed. Two years later I was marching in the best line in the country under the best that DCI had to offer. (well-we tied for 1st-but you get the picture). I'm glad I came along when I did-right place at the right time. Keep on drumming!
ok but how tf do you only have 1.75k subs???? like ur entire vibe is so chill and ur teaching is really effective and humorous???? im an extreme novice when it comes to drums and these videos are a lot of help srsly keep up the good work ur channel is awesome
I was an OK snare drummer at my small high school far too many years ago, and I've been helping out a friend's kid lately who is first bass as a freshman and wants to make snare next year, so I'm looking up some good exercises for him, and those first two exercises are so simple but look so fun. I wish I had that back in the day. I'm gonna have to get my old practice pad again and break the rust off.
Man but having the kick practice pad setup is most important of all, getting that connection for patterns between your hands and foot is what really opens up the chops
This is actually really helping with my Monarch bass audition which requires an ungodly amount of chops for bass drum 💀have to play a tap pyramid at 105 that goes up to 4 measures of 16th notes on one hand.
I just stumbled across this, dude this is truly special, it feels very uplifting and relaxed and just makes practicing boring stuff so much fun with the chill music and soothing voice instent subscribe 6/5 stars ( cuz you're thst awesome)
Damn this is the really fun and helpfull to play Plus the back ground music its so fum to train with backgroundbmusic that actually help and not mess you up
I have been working for two years now as an adult beginner and I might have been able to do this at about 40 bpm on a good day. Unfortunately I only have an hour to 90 minutes a day to work on this and not the 17 or 18 hours a day to get to this level. Not an excuse, but I think there is also a bit of inherent talent involved although percussion teachers seem to be loath to admit this. The background music was too loud. I was trying to follow the sound of the patterns.
Really helpful routines. Amazing speed on the 3 strokes on one hand. Are you using a metronome app that plays music in the same time setting? if so, please state which app it is. Of course you may have just played a set piece of music with an original tempo at the required bpm 🙂
I'm glad you found them helpful! No special metronome app unfortunately, I think when I recorded this I just played along with a met in my ear and then edited in the music after. Although in general playing along to music without a met can be a great listening exercise!
Pity. I can see a gap in the market 🙂Some funk/pop loops to be able to be controlled via metronome dial would make performing drum set/sticking exercises a lot less boring.
Roasts aside I do hope you’ve matured beyond the idea that cadets aren’t good musicians. I guess this is RUclips so maybe that comment gets you more likes. Love the content!
Great video but I think you need to specify that you are teaching this for marching drummers. The push pull technique 100% needs to be taught with this to be able to translate this to a drum kit.
Asmr for drummers
💀
😭😭

What shirt are you wearing?
Sorry Cadets. I love it
that cadets jab didn't age well 😅
rip
Your bata voice...sorry, dude...can't take it.
The Cadets aren't musical? That kind of a bold statement coming from a corps that hasn't made finals since 2013.
boom! roasted! critical damage!
rip cadets
I was waiting for the ear shaped microphone licking!
