This mic has been on my radar since it came out. Definitely going to have to try one out.
Isn't it funny that it always comes down to the song and performance. "Almost" any good mic will do. Doesn't have to cost thousands. Thx for the video.
👆👆 I say it nearly every video
If you liked that mic, you should try his bigger brother Chandler Limited TG Microphone. That one has even more settings so you „have” 10 mics/sound in one. Definitely worth the test.
I definitely want to see some of their other stuff.
@@RecordingStudioLoser Skip it and get a REDD. Mind blown when I got mine and did the first session with it.
@@rydog3701 redd is tube and almost double the price of TG. Also doesn’t have sound settings only drive knob (on the mic) which is not comparable with TG tape settings. Two totally different mics. Worth to compare them both but for my taste TG has more to offer and more universal for any job. Redd is much more vocal oriented.
I agree with you and I’ve had three of the four vintage mics you mentioned. I’ve had the Telefunken c12, Akg c414 w/brass ck12, and I’ve had a vintage u87. This little mic sounds pretty damn good 👍 great video by the way also
Now Lauten Atlantis is the real crazy beast imo. Great vid man always lookin for ur next vids
I need to get my hands on one to try!! Go tell Lauten I’m coming for them
Agreed.
I think it sounded better than the Eden on the vocals hands down !!
The artist picked it for final approved mix.
I completely agree! It’s the Chandler for this vocal. The Eden had a cheap top end brightness to me…
@@RecordingStudioLoser I have the big brother to this microphone and I use it more than not, as others have said it has multiple EQ EMI Tape settings that does make it more MIC for the $2000 price. You will have to give us a Review maybe !?
@@jacksonrussellband Agree. Almost brittle.
I own this mic. It's as good as any mic I've used.
Chandler out here doing it right
Cool
I’d like if you got sent some of their other mics and see if the differences in price tags are worth it
Like the mic like the price like these videos.
Like you😉
Looks the same as one I picked up on ebay for 20 quid....which I heard can be improved with a mod, I never did the Mod as I hardly ever need a mic.
The real experiment for me is to put a singer to sing in variety of microphones while singing on a mixed track and then see which of them blend better with the music.
What I mean here is I doesn’t really matter how they sound on their own on a solo situation BUT on the context of a production.
Please take my opinion on a grain of salt, it’s my experience. Lately I mixed a drum and on the overheads I had a matched pair of 414s and then I’ve tried a pair of Samson. Guess what pair I keep ?
Also once I tried a whole drum with 57s. Beautiful experience
Totally agree that why I kept saying this like “for this singer, in this situation”
Wait, did you track the guitar twice to get the sound of both circuits? That part was a tad unclear.
Left side with one circuit and right side with the other
Double tracked rhythm guitar
Do you prefer it on kick out over wa47f?
Haven’t tried warm. And I’m not a huge fan of 47s on kick out for the sound like. That said my favorites right now are clarion and JZ v11
Fet 47, by itself, is impressive on bass drum.
Work good for hip hop vocals?
Long as the voice isn’t overly bright to begin with. Oh yeah
Did you mention the polar pattern?
Fixed cardiod
@@RecordingStudioLoser thanks! What would be a good video camera mic to record a small acoustic group?
The sennehiser mke 400 is my favorite on camera mic. The MKE 440 is the same thing but stereo which may be cool for that!
@@RecordingStudioLoser cheers!

This looks right up my ally from the multi-use scenarios to the price,...although I don't really need another mic right now -- A mighty-mite mic? M3? Ok,....I'll stop.
Absolutely if you do not need a mic. Don’t buy a mic.
Where have I heard that song before? Lol!
…where
I always find it funny that people feel they need an expensive microphones to record nasty distorted guitar tones, arguably noise. Clean acoustics instruments and vocals… sure!
I dont think i've seen that poeple thinking they need it. I typically use a 57. I'm just trying to show multiple use cases I dont tend to like a mic good at only 1 things.
I hate modern RUclips. 12 minutes of video review on the microphone, including 1.5 minutes of microphone test and 10 minutes of chatter.
Less if you consider half those examples weren’t even the mic I was talking about. . Maybe I shouldn’t have given any context to the fact that one of those microphones was nearly. 600% the cost. Maybe I should have talked about a few features that make this a different use case than what you may *think* this mic is good for. (Literally said that in the beginning of the video)
All this is contingent on a mic being good. Anecdotal experience shouldn’t be the only reason someone makes a purchase. But it’s something I look for when making a purchase. If you don’t agree with the what I say during the chatter. Congrats you found out this isn’t the mic for you.
Im probably not a voice you should listen to for this type of thing.
Its an undersell stating "this mic is like a U87, C414, U67, and a C12" Hehe, some mic companies like lauten and now chandler has straight up better sound to me than any neumann.
That’s their own words!
But I agree. I don’t think it sounds like any of those.
They state that they feel it can be a workhorse mic, such as...not that it sounds like them
