Can I replace a 2nd Gen heat link with this by wiring live to C, call for heat to NO and putting N in a terminal block?

Great video. My thermostat has the same 3 wires and is labelled 10(4) A~250V. Will I be able to replace it with the Nest Thermostat E as I have read mixed info about it being incompatible with high voltage systems and not sure if mine is?

Brilliant thanks! 100 videos later and I finally got one that explained old thermostat with 2 wires! Common and always open! My cable has brown (live?), black (always open?) and grey that was not connected to old thermo. What is the grey for? Should I have used a block for it?

Hi mate, I'm not sure what the grey one on your thermostat is for, but if it wasn't connected before then I would just terminate it safely in a wago or other terminal block 👍🏽

5:17 There is an indicator on the nest link that shows when the boiler is on - press the center button once and you'll see a green flame/heat symbol

Does the nest thermostat have any indication that the boiler has turned on to heat? My current digital stat shows a little flame when it’s heating

Brilliant video. This is very close to mine, however, can I ask if your previous thermostat ran 230V? Mine is a RET 1000M and I don't wanna put the L into the COM if it's too much power, please help, thank you!!

Hi, yes you can put the L into COM so that it will run on 230V 👍🏽

@@cputilitysolutions Sadly mine is broken from the factory. It cannot connect to my nest app no matter what I do. Stuck on a screen with a phone, down arrow, and house symbol.
