jmpsaved Well, I can just reverse the question and ask you why you think it matters that I'm Asian? Are you implying that white beauty is universal whereas Asian people are ugly to everyone unless you're Asian, too? Yes, I see your prejudices sticking out there.
That would be one of the weird aspects of being an actor, you have to do scenes like that with people you may not even know (or like). Most normal people would become attracted after having to be intimate with you, and I don't just mean playing a sex scene among the other physical things a scene may call for. One would have to maintain a strong mental disconnect especially when passionately kissing another actor for a scene, and I can see how some actors can end up dating for real while shooting a movie together because they have to get extremely close to their co-worker and sometimes things just go from there for real, and once you let that "disconnect" drop you can get sucked in real quick and before you know it you now like this person for real. Of course, I'm only guessing about all this because I'm not an actor and I have absolutely ZERO experience with any of this but it sure seems it would work that way.
I've heard of actors having plastic between them so they don't actually have to touch during love scenes.
I struggle to understand it too. Like Larry says, you HAVE to have real 'chemistry' for a love scene to work, but in real life that chemistry often leads to real desire, attraction, and even love.. Even in front of 40 people, if I could hold and kiss a co-worker I really liked (and who likes me), I don't see how I could just turn that off. And can you imagine if one's 'other' relationship is already faltering? I'm certain that's how many industry couples break up and/or end up together.
theRealAV8r Just look at Season 4 of supernatural, what happened between Genevieve and Jared. They were totally digging one another - and then got this sex scene during S4 -- and I think that scene sort of really shows the liking they had towards one another irl... Because JFC you can't watch that scene and not sense all that sexual tension irl that they had for one another - before they were a thing. >_>

Larry King has garnered so much respect as a journalist, anchor, he asked that question like a vicar trying to reveal sins! They answered like parishioners in a confessional booth- I thought that was poor taste, and Ms. Cohan was right to call him out on it. Larry King is old and well respected, but he's not above appropriate behaviour.
