Eh they stuck to air, had more eco than the entire rest of the team put together when yellow died. Seems more like they had no competition so raced for eco and scathis. They didn't try saving yellow by levelling pond with torps, and yellow tried making their own but wasn't enough. Some carrying but some greed paying off because of the massive fail to counter scathis and air

Always the same story for Joes. Air loss = Game loss. Pros know how to mitigate that by building SAMs everywhere and rebuilding their grid, but joes just get wrecked from air without any counter. And then enders...
I just can't understand how you know how to build up all the way to T4, yet somehow don't know that the game has anti-air units, anti-air turrets, anti-air ships, etc. etc. Hell they didn't even try game enders of their own, or mass nuke subs, or really anything...
Yeah. As soon as I knew adlordy was (badly) outclassed in the air, I knew the game was over. When he couldn't even swat way the cheapie t1 gunships I knew air was completely lost.
@@ArawnOfAnnwn It's always like that with badly played Joe games. The initial domination of the naval area in the middle should have cemented the win. The fact it didn't is astounding. They had a huge economic advantage and still lost. Badly.
@raifsevrence they didn't have an eco advantage at any point in time due to their 2 lower rated players being absolutely terrible. I mean, at the same point in time one player had 400mass/tick with another didn't break 100. Literally red player could have 1v4 and hold his own against these navy players. Kababa had a good idea and execution but he was essentially playing solo because his air player had to babysit the 2 liabilities in the water. Honestly they would have been better off 2v4 in this game.
At this level it's understandable to have flawed strategies. He was playing eco when he should have been playing early air drops and navy. It's all part of the learning experience. Playing with a flawed strategy and learning from it.
@@Xingmey That's the nature of this RTS game. There's so much to think about on a tactical / micro level that it's easy to take the eye off the ball when it comes to strategy. They were weirdly passive. That naval counterpush was super slow as well, they had so much time to build, even a few T2 turrets or TMLs early on would have made a difference, especially considering the shield situation. They had the game in their hand with that gigantic early mass advantage and they tossed it away without putting up any sort of fight.

I had team #1 24 ish minutes in. They took the central pond...never thought they'd drop the ball like that. I was think a few destroyers and tons of cruisers especially with UEF gifted.
14:15 My money's on Team 1 to the north, because cyan grabbed the middle pond completely uncontested. Sure, yellow has a TON of eco, but how long will he hold onto that once T2 AA missile cruisers start amassing? If it weren't for that massive factor, the match would be a complete tossup. 44:00 Wow. Now I'm thinking it's going to go the other way. Team 1 had nearly uncontested economic and positional superiority for a long time, but they couldn't push the advantage. I saw good teamplay from both sides, so I'm not sure what's going to happen. If Team 1 snipes the Scathis they will win in a landslide with the eco advantage, but if not they'll find themselves worse off than team 2. 58:00 Wow. This did not go at all how I expected it to go. As amazing as the Scathis was, the MVP is how well those gunships and t3 air were used. Sinerium was very careful not to waste his air. He attacked only when he had overwhelming numbers, and spent the rest of the time safely parked in the rear. Very good judgement. Hats off to his teammates, esp ZARDOZ, who bought him enough time to amass that much air. 1:12:00 GG all around. I saw lots of teamplay, lots of persistence against bitter odds, and no whining! This is definitely my second favorite match that I’ve seen you stream, Gyle. Love to see these kinds of matches, and it’s not just entertaining but can show where a lot of weaknesses can occur. Team 1 should’ve by all accounts won but they missed so many chances to shut down the opposition.
At 14 mins when you asked for a prediction I was swaying towards team one for the top pond control. However I, and I am sure team one also, wasn't expecting Sinerium! Well played good sir! I don't expect you shall be a Joe for much longer. Solid team play, and a carry when the poo hit the... er spinny thing. GGwp to all, and a fab cast, as always Gyle o7
always love a comeback. they didn't recognise the air superiority issue early enough, and in combination with the scathis they clawed it all back. a big turtle.
I have watched some 200+ casts from Gyle and like 100+ from Willow. Since my memory is bad or something else, I can't really remember the names of players. So, I always pick the South team to win ❤. Always. Sinerium, how can I donate a coffee to you? You was not MVP, you owned this game, you was on point against early aggression, experimentals. Everything. What a come back, or wait - the South was in the driver seat all the time ❤ Thank you for giving me the dub ❤😂
Good stuff. Regarding reclaim, there is significantly more than was displayed. On badlands-type maps, those large twig bushes are worth 10-30 a piece, but don't register as normal mass.
Man, I would love to see a couple of pro games on this map. Like, a group of eight 1700+ players, just to see what shenanigans they would get up to with this terrain and so many mexes. Even better if it's the same 8 people, just playing it with random teams a few times so they get more used to it and better at it. And they would probably put a stealth'd nuke launcher or artillery on that bottom left island.
This is the absolute best of games. The good guys limited to about 10% of the map and the bad guys looking like they are going to roll bigtime through for a win, and then it all turns around.
I've just added Zardoz to my Cinema Paradiso Blu-ray rental queue. Thanks for the heads up on this film. Post-Bond Connery in a mankini. What's not to like? 😁

Alright, Gyle, you can have my algorithm engagement. As requested, victory prediction. Despite Team 2 having an economic lead, I suspect Team 1 to capitalise on their naval advantage. Team 2 will be unable to dislodge them and waste so much mass trying, while slowly having their bases ground down from repeated long range naval assaults and Salems walking on land.
Loved this game. One thing with the title. If Gyle calls it an epic its almost always one team dominating than loses the game. Because of the title i knew the top team wouldn't win even though they had such a lead.

I thought so! Attacking well is a pro level skill, so eco usually carries these games. I think if team 1 had backed off the attacks and invested more in air they could have overtaken (good context for air carriers). Oh well!
14:15 I'm saying Team 2 going to win; this naval attack and the econ advantage is gonna pull through. Worried about Zardos 2v1 on that side but with Choco going for T3 and solid navy to back em up maybe. Not sure what Team 1's play is. Papa's Navy in the middle with some air could do some work. But we'll see. Haven't played SupCom online since the 360 days. So we'll see how this prediction goes.
SPOILERS: So watched the whole game now and not really sure. My boy Zardos came through, played really well buying time for Sin to tech and helping Choco. Really unlucky not getting that early kill with the subs; a couple of torp bmbers from Sin could have sealed the deal right there. Silence of Roses expanded too fast and couldn't hold it all; would have been interesting had he gone into the top right corner under, given that Sin had total air control would have kept him safe from the Lake Fleet. Team 1; Papa's really pulling his team forward that attack on Roses and Zardos was really good. But too much investment in Navy and couldn't get Sin's base from there. Way too much put into the navy game. Opening up Zardo's base with no follow up ground attack was a real problem. Kinda glad I was right, but not for the reasons I was expecting.
Got 'assigned' bottom team by my child who likes to pick the winning team and give me the losing one. How the tables have turned, my little spawn! Great overall match.
This reminded me of the 'pro players don't know how to deal with late game' except these guys aren't pros. I know I have the advantage of viewing it after the fact, but I think the only thing novel that was used against the scathis were the nuke subs, everything else was pretty much 'lets just repeat the attack which didn't get close each of the last 6 times we tried it.'
I dabbled in multiplayer/FaF a little bit but got super wrecked as a newbie both game-wise and by text from my "team"mates so after a few games I went back to singleplayer. But the casts are super entertaining!
Predicting win on team 2 at 14:01 mostly because of Silences mass differential... And because I want team 1 to win so the feeling is that 'my team' loses :(
Shoulda built a crapload of nuke subs, once they realised the battleships didnt have the range and then launched a bunch of nukes at once to overwhelm the smds.
Team 1 could have won so easy they had so much eco and navy at some point just spam 5-10 strategic missiles subs and strike the scathys with it, he had not enough anti nukes to counter especially when they all hit at once, since anti nukes have a reload time.
I was going to say you can't win with just a scathis, you need something more like a yolona or paragon, but I guess these average joes couldn't deal with the gunships. I had a similar thing happen to me once. The enemy built a whole bunch of restorers and I couldn't deal with them. I had asf but I severely underestimated how strong aa the restorers had. The enemy wiped out 3 of my team mates before I was able to nuke his base and regain air control and win the game. It was pure luck that he went for my team mates before me, because I was the only one who had a hope of destroying him.
The amount of poor tactical choices in this game was honestly impressive. Poor nuke tasking, nukes sat in silos, no reclamation of mass points via T1 engy spam... no proper reclaim or re-expansion in the end game. I dunno what Silence of Roses was doing either. Did he produce a single attack this game? Literally afk I swear. What a weird game :D
The blue team just didn't employ any correct strategy since the middle of the match... They could easily won if they just push the experimentals with extensive mobile AA protection, or build ASF from aircraft carriers...
I hope Sinerium has a good doctor to help him with his back. It must be under a lot of stress from how hard he was carrying.
I work at a chiropractic office: can confirm that carrying a lot will hurt your back.
Eh they stuck to air, had more eco than the entire rest of the team put together when yellow died. Seems more like they had no competition so raced for eco and scathis. They didn't try saving yellow by levelling pond with torps, and yellow tried making their own but wasn't enough.
Some carrying but some greed paying off because of the massive fail to counter scathis and air
yeah... left yellow out in the wind when his base was getting hammered early.. team not so much.. Empiric win yes.
Yellow was basically retarded and they were better off without him.
44:00 it shows up as a suicide, because the explosion of the reactor killed him.

Classic Gyle. Watched it anyway (just kidding Gyle)
14:10, i think team 1 will win, they got center, and also recovered south west.
15:00 team 1 , better offensive.
He built one Scathis so quickly, why couldn't he throw up a couple more?
Team 1: 14 min 15 seconds is my guys :)
Team 2, yellow is my favorite color
Well, my pick was picky at certain times, but I have a feeling for things and team 2 confirmed my superstition for the time being.
14:10 I want the red and yellows to win, it seems like they are making a bad decision not going for the middle pond
Timestamp 14:40... definitely team 2 gonna win, they are too far ahead to lose.
The blue team just didn't employ any correct strategy since the middle of the match... They could easily won if they just push the experimentals with extensive mobile AA protection, or build ASF from aircraft carriers...
Yeah, adlordy badly shit the bed for his team and got wiped from the sky. Game was over once that happened.
Nice twist, I thought team 1 would win.
Awesome game
Team 1. Minute 14🎉
Team 1! 14:10
Why didn't team 1 build nuke subs? They owned both ponds for the entire game and could have easily overwhelmed Sinerium's tiny corner at 45 minutes.
37:03 Surely team 1 wins
It is Russian, and says "bleyet" or sh^^
