I want to sincerely thank everyone for your positive comments regarding my gameplay this go 'round. This was, I think, my second or third game, ever, versus live opponents. That said, I have quite literally over two decades of unfortunate habits learned from skirmishing against the AI, all the way back to the original Total Annihilation, through all the iterations of SupCom (and yes, the less said about SC2, the better). I've been following BRNK's Twitch channel (in part because of his highly enjoyable dedication to SupCom) for over a year and finally acquired a CPU up to the task of joining in the FAF insanity. The Discord chat on this match was indeed... lively :D ... but I received a lot of quality coaching from my teammates throughout the match, and that contributed greatly to my ability to make BRNK and Triaxx work hard for their well-earned victory. I hope to provide similar or greater entertainment going forward.
you prolly dont care but if you're stoned like me atm then you can stream pretty much all of the latest movies on instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my gf for the last couple of weeks xD
Couple notes about this game - The balance is so low because we had...3? maybe 4 low game count low rank people. The number was super wrong xD. Second note, poor choices were made. Admitting that up front. It was a hell of a fun game though, we were all slowly dying laughing in chat.
@@lz1094 I don't know. Brink had another one that I'd really like to see Gyle cast. It was unbalanced in the other team's favor and brink's team pulled out the win in style. This one: ruclips.net/video/TZrvxasL0no/видео.html
"Game quality is at 76%, that is pretty appalling balance, it's about as balanced as Germany VS Poland circa 1939" As a Pole, I found that hilarious. Keep up the good work Gyle.
That's actually the fault of the nuke hitting my T3 HQ. I couldn't keep building Percies so I went to plan B. And Yes, I was also laughing when I watched the video.
That was hands down the best match I've seen here. Mad props to MadSentinel for his sheer determination and perseverance! He might not have won the match, but he's a gorram champion in my book!
You actually did it.... we were laughing about you casting the game during the stream... and you actually did it xD Thank god you did... cause that was one game of a lifetime to watch and play.
I discovered BRNK by watching his creeper world videos, and then I saw him on the ladder of FAF and then I discovered his FAF videos. It is like the dude is everywhere I look!
For what it's worth I like the zoom-ins and I think you strike a great balance between technical/strategy and theme/awesomeness descriptions and focus.
awesome cast Gyle. I caught the original stream and it was great to see this game cast with all the alternative cinematic camera angles, highlighting the huge variety of engagements and showcasing the units. The game is so much prettier than a bunch of icons viewed from space and you make it feel more like live war reporting from the future +++++++ so many people :O getting whooshed by the ironic :D use of emoji :P
I watched the second half of this live. It was such a unique game. And I learned an important lesson that day: If you have a problem that is not solved by throwing donuts at it, throw even more donuts at it until it is solved! Truly a game for the history books.
also works for asf issues- put a half-dozen or so donuts together they form a mighty amount of aoe-aa dmg that can murk pretty much any number of asf if they try to take a pass. (worke da few patches back anyway, not sure with new donut?)
@Gyle - There is a mod called Reclaim View for FAF that shows you the total mass value on your screen. In addition you can use it to see the mass value of an alive unit as well.
Brink must be suffering from severe back pain from the carrying he had to do the whole game. Tirax went missing for at least 30 minutes as far as map presence and then went full communist army at the end. Excellent double snipes from glob and brink really.
completely right about the skill level going up in the last year or two. I was a 1200-1300 player for ages. Now I am staying steady in the 900's. You come up against a 1200 now and the skill level is significantly higher, let alone a 2000 player who will just own all on the battlefield.
Gyle great cast. Hope to see more coming. How come there are so few with you in them? Hope to see some more pro vs joe games. those games with blackheart and such were so much fun to watch. Have a good one.
Also to comment on my faction choice (FloodedLava). I tend to pick cybran due to the Advantage ASF have the stealth along with the brutal stealth strats as you can see in this game when I was starting brnk it looked random but what I was trying to do is use the cybran AoE of the bom to ground fire between 2 mex to try and get 2 mex at a time instead if 1 .
One thing you do pick up on at like 26:00 is that people are getting better at the game. Like the requirements to be a mid or high range player are much steeper.
T1 spam is always useful for keeping enemy MEX expansions and reclaims down. They just had to add in some T3 arty/aa in to really give value to those T1 standoffs.
This is such a sad game because you can see that if the losing team built one or two less arty, and instead built quantum gateway w/ assist + ras supcom spam + scattered sam defense, it was clearly their game to win! I don't blame the 200 for not doing it, but the other guy should have for sure.
Are these games modded? Like i don't get under water reclaim and i don't have some of the maps Gyle has observed. If so what are the mods and where can i find them? PS only started playing this year
In the basic games available on Steam it is like you tell it. If you download and install Forged Alliance Forever the game changes a little bit. For example the reclaim in water is now in it which makes sense. Furthermore a few years ago the possibility was included to have a factory headquarter which allows you to upgrade other factories faster and with less ressources and directly build t2 and t3 factories aswell. T3 ground mobile antiair, Support Commander presets, map vault with hundreds of maps coop campaign and missions...lot of things to see ;)
Huh, didn't know FAF had added t3 mobile AA. Might play a couple games sometime. And I like what I see of the changed Scathis, looks like a big range buff and an interesting firing cycle.

Great job my friend. Loved watching you guys!!
That was incredible! Great job!
What a legend. Look forward to seeing you in more games.

Damnit Gyle. THANK YOU for the years of entertainment and wonderful attitude!
Yes couldnt agree moree!
Benjamin Hall remember when he took that year break, I was so sad about thst

It was a great game man, did you stream it/cast it?
I'm not sure if I've ever watched any of your games where you guys weren't dying of laughter. :D
best game of faf this year!

The FAF version of the 40K Imperial Guard.

i prefer the zooming in of gyle, over the constant scrolling of brink. on that note, gj gyle.

You can thanks me for sending the link to Gyle, honestly I wasn't sure if he was gonna cast it either xD
But the madlad did it
I have never felt more repulsed by a thumbnail in my life
No one has said "oh snap" since Gyle lent it one last utterance circa 2009.
Its like a shitty Facebook meme
It’s the giant shitty emoji that got me. And yet here I am
@@ZWHMalokin I'm bringing it back.

Gyle, I have been watching a lot of your casts as of recent on youtube. This was by far the most comical cast you have done man.
Great fun to watch. And I concur with Gyle in the end - the last man fighting to his last breath was a legend. Sparta!!!
Brnk & Gyle, best anime crossover of all time.

I watched this on Brnk's stream, but this match is unreal! Nice cast!
Another great cast Gyle, thanks for all you do. As for the zooming in and out, Don't change a thing! Keep doing what you are doing! Moar!

This was such a fun match to watch. This has always been my favorite RTS game. So glad people are keeping the game alive.
Suddenly all the Epics we saw so far just don't seems o Epic anymore. You're going to need a new word to describe games like this. What a match!
It's always a good day for more SupCom, and Gyle!

I don't mind the zooming in, in fact I quite enjoy it for the bigger battles. Your doing a great job Gyle!
Ofc I get casted on the time frame of one of my stupid renamed xD FloodedLava xD
0 points sir!
Oh that was amazing. The shot that took out Glyph were almost like the FA intro.
MadSentinel: I love you
[SPOILER]
Sentinel played like a 1k person. Kudos to them not rage quitting.
I love by how the end it had gone back to the beginning, virtually no base and T1 galore! ridiculous match
