Fun fact, Mario in Mario 64 has a round cast shadow because players found it easier to judge distance when jumping with them and found it very difficult without. Shadows as a utilitarian tool are the bee's knees...too bad no one ever looks at it. Unfortunately, this art is in the shadow (pun VERY MUCH intended) of other pretty visuals.
Super Mario Galaxy did this too. Regardless of where the actual light sources are in the scene, cast shadows always point straight down. "Down" as in "the direction gravity is pulling the character/object right now", which can be different for each object, and constantly changes as objects move around the level. The unrealistic (but incredibly useful!) shadows almost certainly took more effort to implement than standard "realistic" light-source-based game shadows would have.

Diamond Boots872 depending if you have the old or new flipaclip, you can use the highlighter tool on a layer above the main drawing while using a dark pink, dark purple, or a bluish color, and put the opacity down on the tool. Or, if you have the new flipaclip you can draw in your shadows on a layer above with a dark pink, dark purple, or a bluish color, then put the opacity down on the layer itself. Hope this helped! Artists using Ibis Paint X can use a filter called wet edge for form shadows. For cast shadows, there's a filter for that too. Hope this helps. ^^

To animate shadows on FlipaClip, you get Animation Desk because it's way better.
I don't think FlipaClip is very good for animiating.

What more? What COLOR should I use for shadows. Like, selecting different color hue. Shading with only black is a common mistake among new artists.
And you can see she used Ivory-blue color shading.

The brighter the light source, the darker the shadow. If the sun is behind clouds, there might be no shadows at all.
Can you continue this and talk about highlights,ambient light and other aspects of light and shadows?
