- We ran across this TRAC Tire Jack while at the SEMA Launch Pad that showcases new innovations in tools and equipment. This was actually the Launch Pad Winner at the SEMA Show 2022. The Tire Jack uses a large steel plate and a roller to maneuver even your heaviest of tires and wheels. Easily place the wheel and tire on the studs without any sweat and without putting your toes under the tire.

I have been using a shovel to do the same thing for years
Didn’t know shovels came with a wheel bolted underneath. 😆
@@AnontheGOAT they don’t , but I always have one in the back of my truck. It’s a lot easier then trying to hold it up by hand . This is a brilliant tool
That's one way to do it. Save your back. Thanks for watching.
@@ral3178 I'm assuming you just drag it out with the wheel on top then?
@@AnontheGOAT basically yeah and it drags just fine. This is definitely a superior product vs the shovel
$150 is absolutely ridiculous for such a simple design
We do understand that it's not exactly cheap, but it's not made cheaply either. Made in the USA with quality components, there is a price to pay. We understand that it's probably not for everyone. Thanks for watching.
😮 omg . I called my Chinese company and they quote me 15$ to produce and I can sell it 50$ 😅😅
@@shadowflare99I’ll buy three of them
@@Shoptoolreviews: The one I make for myself, or have made for me, will also be American made and hella less expensive.
price gouging.. gotta win the lottery somehow, baby!! Just watch a few episodes of shark tank and listen to the margins people make on products. I'm convinced EVERYTHING we buy is overpriced so "entrepreneurs" can live fat in Malibu. SMH... Charge realistically and make bank on volume. At this price, I'm FOR SURE making my own. Shoot, I'll get a cheap shovel from a garage sale and chop the handle down a little
I like the idea, but for $150 I’ll make my own.
You can definitely do that, but there is a price for quality construction, finish, and being Made in the USA. Thanks for watching.
This would have been much better if it had rollers on either side so you can spin the wheel to match the lugs. We have this at my job changing bus tires, makes it so much easier.
True, that would make it even easier. Thanks for watching.
Yes . I wish it had couple of rollers built on top or sides of the plate perpendicular to the one which is at the bottom to make it spin the wheel to align the wheel holes with the studs.
They do offer it as an add on now
I'm always leery of companies that don't list their location or mailing address on their website.
We understand what you mean. In this case, we had some great conversation with these guys, and they're great people here in the USA. Thanks for watching.
I don't know how that won at sema considering I use a very similar tool every day for city bus tires. Except mine has a nice handle and rollers to spin the tire of the lugs don't line up. Bus and big rig tires and wheels have to weight close to 200lbs so I see a use there, but for car tires $150 seems like a waste.
Yeah...Pretty much anybody who's worked on heavy wheels and tires like large 4wds or heavy equipment knows how to use a prybar to lift a wheel onto the studs. Pretty standard when you're dealing with 150+ lb wheel/tires. But I guess the brilliance of this isn't so much the tool as the idea to make and market it to people who don't already know how to do that with the stuff they have sitting in the box already?
$150!!!!! I G O N G
There is a price for quality and Made in the USA. Thanks for watching.
I use my kids skate board, works great!
Tim, I really want to like your videos but come on man… 10 minutes to review the simplest tool imaginable is about 8 minutes too long. You repeat most info points about five times. I think the appeal of your videos would increase tremendously if they were much shorter. My $.02
We're really not trying to stretch these out in any way. Over the years, we've played around with being quick and to the point as well as explaining every single detail. We watch the comments and see what our users want. Bottom line, as soon as all the details are dropped or cut, viewers come unglued and accuse us of editing, not showing everything, and even lying. RUclips is an interesting world. Sorry if you thought it was too long...we're doing our best to hit the sweet spot. Please stay with us, and we welcome your comments, good and bad. Thanks for watching, as always.
This is my exact problem as well. Good reviews - but he always seem to drag on. I means - 5 mins of talking before the actual demonstration of a very simple device. Good stuff - but you need to get to the point. There’s way too much content out they to be watching a 10 min video on this thing.
@@Shoptoolreviews appreciate the feedback and understand the struggle. Just my thoughts. 👍
Because it's a paid promotion.. and by the way. It's the biggest waste of money there is.. if the lug holes aren't lined up exactly it doesn't work..
Definitely looks handy, especially for the deep dished wheels you can never seem to get the lugs lined up on. That wheel/tire should weight about 82lbs.
You're exactly right, and thanks for the specifics on the wheel/tire weight. I knew it was south of 100, but not by much. Thanks for watching.
My old skate board does the same with extra leverage. 😊
I would have like to had one of these when I was changing tires on the F-4 Phantom.. those tires were heavy ..especially when you inflate to 450 psi for shipboard ops .. (kidding)
That would have been awesome to review this on the F-4 Phantom. Thanks for watching.
Hello again Tim and Shop Tool Reviews
Thank you for another Great Video 👍
Keep your money and just learn from a old man a shovel does that same thing as this and has more leverage or u can buy a short handle shovel works for me for lifting 49in tires
I use my kids skateboard!
for $150 I'd prefer harbor freight self-loading Wheel dolly
Wtf? That thing is $150??
Sure, that works too. However, this is Made in the USA. We understand, it's not cheap. Thanks for watching.
On gravel wouldn't work very smooth, but on a slab, I will take anything as you gotta work smarter not harder. Just remember guys, there are some women that change tires as well and may not be as strong as you so anything with leverage is important to anyone.
I wish it had couple of rollers built on top or sides of the plate perpendicular to the one which is at the bottom to make it spin the wheel to align the wheel holes with the studs.
Great idea, but over $200.00 in Canada. Not today.
Looks like a ok tool, but dang $150.00 !! Ouch, and $1,200 for the stand up version OUCH!
Winner? Apparently nobody at SEMA has ever seen a Johnson bar. What's old is new again...😂
...with a wide flat lip and a roller on the bottom. Thanks for watching.
@@Shoptoolreviews Always enjoy the reviews and looking forward to the Red Army band file review. Cheers!
I use my kids skateboard!
You forgot to mention the hole in the top of the plate I'm guessing it is to hang it up out of the way...
This is actually pretty nice if you are taking off wheels and tires everyday....great idea 💡
I like it and want one but huge NOPE to the $149 price.....come on, Trac!!!
As always an excellent review. This is a nice little tool, however at the same price as a decent floor jack it just seems too pricey for most DIYers. While well-built and convenient $79. USD would make it much more desirable, however at that price it would likely have to be made in China to be profitable for the company.
Bus tires are about 120 pound new. Been using a 20 dollar tire spoon to do whatever this chingus does. Also wheels roll…
That's awesome. Regardless what you use, glad you're saving your back. Smart work. Thanks for watching.
Too much talking. This video could have been three minutes long if the guy would just be quiet and demonstrate the item. Apparently it had to be over ten minutes to monotize it.
I love your videos but this has to be one of the dumbest waste of money I have ever seen. It would be way easier putting the tire back on by hand.
Not surprised at all by your comment, in fact others have stated as such, but if you'll read other comments, you'll also see the opposite side of the coin as well. Sure, this is not cheap, but many see a lot of value in a tool like this. Yes, it's simple, but it's made well, made in the USA, and it's effective. Thanks for watching.
@Shop Tool Reviews your my fav tool review channel I'll watch anything you put up
Please show us how it’s done with a set of 40s on a Jeep that weigh 117lbs per corner.
Ngl my foot does the same thing
We totally understand, but using the foot-wedge-Johnson-bar (since my last name matches) for years. However, this is a much smarter and safer approach. Thanks for watching.
@@Shoptoolreviews haha good point I’m still young and my body still works how God intended, maybe this will save me joint pain down the road. Love the videos keep it up!
I have 14 M-12 tools and 4 Ego Products… most of which have been purchased based on your real world reviews.. I’m hoping you will review the M-12 inspector borescope .. So I can rationalize buying one of those .. Thanks happy Hollidays..
Wow, the pressure is on. I really appreciate you sharing this, and I will do my best to get the borescope in for review. I will say that I may have a borescope that you'll like better than the M12...maybe. But keep it on the down-low for right now. Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas.
For a stupidly high price! I'll just make one and save over a hundred bucks.
And what about lambda probe !? 6:08
First of all I'm not seeing any more than a $30 dollar tool not $150. But more importantly please don't waste your money.. if the lug holes are not lined up perfectly it doesn't work. And you know you never get them lined up the first time. Trust me it's much easier to do the old fashioned way
Well, the gloves aren't necessary. Especially on the bench😂
I had the fast forward to get past all the obnoxious yelling.
Unable to rotate tire as needed 😢😮
Swing left or right and swing the top in the opposite direction. But I use my kids skateboard instead!
Moi je ne peux pas ma voiture na pas de roue de secours de plus quand tu crève le sol n’est pas plats je pense que c’est inutile 😊😊😊
I would like it better if the handle was not so wide. about 2 inches for hand grip would be easier to use.
I use my kids skateboard! But you’re just holding the end, you don’t need a handle.
Seems like a solution looking for a problem.
$149!!! That company is high!.
its just a mini johnson bar !!!
with a wide flat lip and a roller. :) Thanks for watching.
$150.00 !!
Thanks for watching.
Useful for old mechanics 😂
You got that right. Thanks for watching.
it handy but not necessary, but for 150 for that? I just use my muscles hahaha
👏👏👏😎
For the price you should just spend more a jack and jill its dolly with rollers. This price makes zero sense
Honestly, it looks like a waste of time using that thing when it's way easier to just hold the tire alien the holes and your done .........
Would love to see you hold a 40” tire while trying to align the wheel as the rotor keeps spinning around. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Y cuando te punches en terraceria!!!?? 😬🥴
The roller looks like a silencer, lol
Like a cheese slicer?! That's funny. Thanks for watching.
This was the shows winner? WTF
There's definitely some separation between those that like and dislike this tool. The young and strong think it's stupid, but the old-er and maybe even wiser think it's a great back saver. We can see both sides to it, but it's definitely simple and effective. Thanks for watching.
Tim. I have always liked you. I have always disliked the length of your videos and repetition. Hopefully that helps future videos to be shorter.
hmmmm smh. idk mannnn
If tire changing is hard on your body, find a new line of work. Leave it to the able bodied
Thanks for watching.
