Emmy, I think you're wonderful. I have to ask, are you aware you've increasingly spoken in a very halting manner? I'm so sorry to ask. It keeps taking me out of what you're discussing. I hope you understand this is asked in the most caring way. I'm very sorry if it is misguided. I truly mean well.
Emmy!! My husband and me have been watching you for 13 years now. You are a constant kindness and breath of fresh air in our life. I hope you know that you've made a positive impression and caused positive change in people's lives ❤ much love and itadakimasu!!!

I have never seen yeast in cubes, I have seen yeast in jars! I got back into making bread last summer, well, I was determined to learn to work on making yeast rolls, my yeast rolls never turned out as well as my grandma’s or my mom’s! I now am getting it, I love RUclips has got me into making yeast rolls and candy!

I’ve made milk bread with tangzhong before and have been meaning to try the WOL version. The laminated 1000 layer bread reminds me of another RUclipsr baker who makes laminated French/Turkish pastries, often using melted butter instead of softened butter. Her pastries flake similarly. Thank you for this demo, love your presentations and reviews of what you’ve made!
hearing you say you loved peeling things off surfaces when you were a kid reminded me of classmates who'd cover their hands in glue and then peel it off after it dried
It's like the Grands Flaky Layers biscuits! Even to the fact that they never fully peel properly and get stuck lol. But they're delicious, hot and fresh from the oven, with butter and a drizzle of honey! 😊
all i could think as you were stacking those layers was 'spiced sugar'. could you imagine how glorious that would be? In my mind after spreading the butter on top, you could sprinkle the whole thing down with some spiced sugar before cutting and stacking. i think i have to buy one of those square tins just so i can test that out
Re: satisfying peeling stickers. The most annoying sticker peel was from these 50c plastic bowls from walmart. The price sticker had like 20 pieces to it and you could not get the whole thing off without it breaking into smaller pieces.
Your bread looks sensational, and I didn't know that milk bread was sweet, but you learn something new every day, awesome video Emmy, 👍🏻👍🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘Cheers from Melbourne Australia
I just googled a recipe. I will be making Milk Bread tomorrow. Thank you! How did you did you do that Chocolate one? Very yummy! So homemade is best. :) Thank you for the videos. I love watching you.
When I saw this pop up on socials I was reminded of the cinnamon sugar Pillsbury biscuits (from the can of course) from my childhood that also boasted peelable layers. 😆
Does this sort of bread come out dense, moist and mildly sweet? Texture is hard to tell by look alone but it's making me think of Hawaiian bread crossed with brioche and making darn hungry.
The clear plastic protectors like you get on new watch faces, phone screens & new TVs are the best to peel off. My family will fight over who gets to do it first 😂
no, you need some simple sugars to feed the yeast (slash bloom it)and enhance the overall intended flavor of the bread. it doesn't have to be brown sugar per say, ive used agave syrup in the past and its worked fine :33!!
That looks absolutely delicious bread is definitely a weakness of mine 😊. It also looks pretty easy to make and not intimidating at all so thank you for sharing!
since i cut bread out of my diet i think i could make a sandwich with that super thin bread......i make them with cheese as the bread now and that tin bread is like no bread at all.

Emmy: "I'm cutting back on bread"
Also Emmy: Proceeds to bake all the breads 😂😂😂
Now That she can't really eat bread, these videos are probably the only time she gets to eat some, so she is getting her bread fix through this
I was literally just thinking this! 🤣
I literally just made this comment to my partner! 😂😂😂

Wholesale clubs, like BJs, sell Active Dry Yeast in large cubes for just a few bucks. I store mine in the freezer and it lasts forever.

Same! I've also found a pound of instant yeast at HEB for around $5.
I've had a jar of yeast in my freezer for like 5 years, maybe longer, and it still produces a lovely rise!
Thank you!

I'm so intrigued! I make tangzhong cinnamon rolls & this makes me want to try this.
hearing you say you loved peeling things off surfaces when you were a kid reminded me of classmates who'd cover their hands in glue and then peel it off after it dried
We did that in the early 70s..in school and at home with Elmers glue..😅
@anitajinfla9762 Oh yeah. I did that. My sister would let me peel her sunburned back, too! 😂
That's 1000% me! 😂
I did that lol! I got bored in grade school pretty often lol.
Colorforms! Oh, boy, does that bring back old memories!
Been watching since I was 13 now I’m 25 omg. Thank you for spreading such kindness and fun ❤❤❤
I feel better knowing Emmy has dishes in her sink, just like the rest of us 😂
Emmy really LOVES her bread, lots of bread recipes!!! 😂💙
And I'm so glad she does, because bread might be my favorite thing to make.
For those of us not as talented in the kitchen, Hungry Jack biscuits are cheaper and peel just as nicely lol
Same with Pillsbury Grands Flaky Layers biscuits, or Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (in a different form factor)
Laminated dough bakes so well, and tastes so yummy!
You remind me of Mr. Rogers, in the BEST way possible!
So wholesome and soothing! I totally agree with the comparison!! And I would LOVE to have a neighbor like Emmy!
I love the Woks of Life blog! The book looks beautiful. Definitely adding that to my collection.
Me and my 8 year old love you so much❤ The peelable bread looks so fun!
🧡🧡🧡 Hi, there!!! I love that your watch me together.💖
What the wheat?🌾 Peeling the layers in the homemade version does look like fun! And, all the butter has to taste wonderful! Thanks, Emmy ❣️
we have something very similar in Argentina called the cremona. Its a delicious fluffypull apart bread, very buttery and delicious.
I like how you were so excited to eat that you didn't even finish the 'itadakimasu' 😂😂 "itadakimaaaa-(bite)"
I always wondered how that was spelled and now I understand the pronunciation better...thank you !
Everything turned out beautiful! 😋😋🍞🍞🥐🥐
I am a seasoned peeler of layered breads and pastries such as croissants and Baklava. Mmmmm! Thank you for sharing
I love peeling things too. Even glossy paint off of wall partitions. Wall paper too! Fun, fun, fun therapeutics!
i really love the edits in this episode! secondary shots etc made a very interesting video start to finish!

I love those
I ordered this in Northern Thailand. They call it “Thousand Layer Toast” 🍞😊
I have that cookbook,
“The woks of life”, I love it!
I make bread all the time. I've never made this milk bread. Going to give it a try this weekend! Thanks.
I used to be able to get Pillsbury Tender-Layer Biscuits in my area. l also liked to peel the microlayers
Peeley Bread "I'm so cool and new!"
Croissants, Layered biscuits, and Filo dough "Hold my butter"
The most gorgeous crumb I have ever seen!

I feel like you missed a step between starting to knead and the end of proofing! How long did you knead for? What should it look like after?
Knead until smooth ~7-10 minutes.
@@emmymadethanks!!!
So did you let the other dough just sit and rest while you were finishing and baking the milk bread?

What was that book at 1:29? 👀🤣
You used more butter in your bread, so the layers were more defined. Looks delish😋😋😋
Was wondering if you ever do trial runs on some of these recipes or do you just go for it and see how it comes out??
That bread looks delicious.I hope your face doesn't swell up and make you regret having a taste.Thank you Emmy and best wishes.
Looks so delicious
Am I the only one who noticed that Emmy is channeling Blippi today!?! 😂 I only notice because he’s on my TV every day!
Happy Lunar New Year, Emmy!

You’re so adorable, Emmy!
Speaking of a thousand layers have you ever made mille-feuilles before? Would love to see you take on a classic napoleon!
This looks amazing! I need a vegan version.
Good job 👏🏻,,, where you can find the recipe?
She links to her hokkaïdo video, as well as the book this specific recipe is from.
The peeling stack would be prettier if u continue baking 5 more minutes. It would peel easier too.
My apologies, did I miss the ingredient measurements? Came over from FB. Love ypur clips and have now joined ypu here. Thanks.
Hi Emmy, which tastes better, the hokkaido bread or this recipe? 😊
Might be fun to make the peel-y kind for a party or something
I thought I was having déjà vu! It took me nearly the whole video to realize it’s really similar to a recipe for Finnish pulla buns.
The one burnt out light. I can't stop staring at it 😂
Dang it. Now it's all I can see.

Emmy I love you soooo much! All your vids I love! ❤❤❤ if you could respond to one of my comments I would geek out!!! All the lovelys love you!!
How she don’t have a food channel show is beyond me.
I think you supposed to heat it up first (at least what we do here) so the peeling can be done effortlessly

I thought you had to activate dry active yeast in warm water a a bit of sugar until frothy prior adding to the rest of the ingredients.?
You can, and it’s a way to “prove” the health of you yeast, but you don’t have to.
This looks like Pillsbury Grands.
If it doesn't have tangzhong, how different is this from brioche? Apart from the three jellyrolls, that is.
I love peeling too. I have no idea why.
Would this work with no sugar?
no, you need some simple sugars to feed the yeast (slash bloom it)and enhance the overall intended flavor of the bread. it doesn't have to be brown sugar per say, ive used agave syrup in the past and its worked fine :33!!
It looks like a stack of American cheese! Yum!
I would try heating up the store bought bread a bit to soften the butter.

That is just what I like. Yummy BREEEAAAD.
I used to peel the skin off of grapes. 😅
Just a suggestion, maybe try stacking pillsbury flakey biscuits in that taller Pan to achieve that peelable effect.
Has a gluten sensitivity. Yet 80% of her videos lately are breads 😂. Love this channel.
This is strange but when I make boiled eggs, after removing the shell, I like to peel it in layers to the yolk and then dip it in spicy mustard.
That looks cool. 0.0
I’d never pullout of Emmy.
I have a Pullman only larger
Peelable bread, sounds like a Willy Wonka product
Do you need to turn your mattress? It looks heavy..
You should make Indonesian SMASHED chicken! 🐔🐔🐔🍗🍗🍗
Do you let the kids and husband eat the rest of your food? Do they enjoy it?

Certainly a bread for people who are obsessed with peeling things off, given this is a food vid I won't provide examples of that... :P
I would love some glutenfree breads get tested and if something acculy is good.
put cinnamon sugar between the layers!
