The only thing I do differently, I poke a few holes in the cake when it comes out of the oven before pouring on my glaze. That way the glaze can run and melt down inside the cake.
Looks delicious.I saw this recipe with pecans in the brown sugar mix and holes poked in the cake so the glaze soaks through. Your idea with the heavy cream looks amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Great job. I am going to use the type of pan you used next time because layering the second layer of batter takes patience with a bigger pan like you stated. I used sour cream and a stick of butter, no oil. I added chopped pecans to brown sugar mixture. Although honey buns have no pecans. Also, I poked holes in the top with a chopstick (small side) to let the frosting seep into the holes.
Let me tell you i made this for Thanksgiving and my son kept calling them pancakes 😆 we enjoyed this recipe soo much he wants me to make this again on Christmas. Thank you
My mother has been making a honeybun kind of like that for years and she wont give nobody the recipe i saw that thumbnail im like that cake looks familiar 😂 it looks good 😋
Wow I never saw anyone use heavy whipping cream for the icing! Most recipes for the honey bun cake icing call for milk and confectioners sugar with vanilla extract, but I cannot wait to try it this way next time ! Smart!! I also add real honey into the icing mixture & a little melted butter. Its bomb! But next time heavy whipping cream it is!🎂 I'm actually about to bake one of these right now as I type this comment at literally 2:33 am 😂 lmao but unfortunately I don't have anymore heavy cream so I have to use milk this time. But I'm curious what u think about adding a little Philadelphia Cream Cheese into the frosting?! No?! Lol idk it just sounded good. I feel inspired watching u use heavy cream😂 this is why I always screw up baking cause my ass always tryna veer from the recipe & add extra shit😂 P.S. - that's a really great/smart tip u gave about using the 10x10 foil pan!! Cause I used the 9x13 and u right it's always a struggle tryna do the half & half thing with the cake batter cause once u get the bottom of the pan covered, it's barely enough batter left to put on top of the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture😩 So once I swirl it with the butter knife all my sugar mixture comes to the top pretty much smh it still comes out good tho but I like it to look pretty like yours so I'll try the small pan next time! Thanks for that tip. Also I saw another lady making this recipe on Instagram & she said she used 2 boxes of cake just to make it easier to do half n half. I assume that makes a bigger, hardier cake too so I'm gonna try it like that to bring to a family get together next weekend. I need it to go a long way to feed more mouths cause I jus know they gon love this cake!

How do you store this cake?.I just made it and was wondering if it can stay on the counter or it needs to be refrigerated ?
Hey! This cake can sit out for 2-3 days. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Sis
By the way. .....It's Delicious!!
How long did you cook this
I baked for 50 minutes. Your time may vary depending on your oven. Once a tooth pick inserted comes out dry, it’s done. Thanks for watching
Dark brown sugar or light
Either works fine.
Can you use milk instead of vegetable oil
Hey! I would use butter as the substitute for the oil. Not sure about the milk. Thanks for watching!
So you used dark brown sugar?
I use whichever I have on hand. Either light or dark works. Thanks for watching!
And thank you for sharing this recipe. I plan on making this either over the weekend or for dessert after Sunday dinner. Will post my results
I hope you enjoy it!
I would have used all of the filling - LOL
Lol! Thanks for watching 😊
Did you say for 50mins you baked it
Yes. I baked for 50 minutes. You may not need to bake as long. Thanks for watching!
