Thanks Wayne The whole bigger picture concept has moved me forward from a very stuck place that I just couldn't fathom my way out of! I am really enjoying your lessons Thank you Martin (Devon UK)
Love the tips and tricks! You have a great knack for conveying the concepts. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say how much I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Thank you... from Ottawa Canada.
Wayne, All the things you’ve talked about not doing is what I’ve been doing for the last 30 + years with guitar and mandolin And where did you get me? Nowhere. You are absolutely right. I believe the biggest mistake I made over the years is trying to learn songs and Play these instruments with tablature. Now if I could only get those years back😄
Those years of work do matter! Never abandon anything about your playing that you like and continue to study and learn from tab if you enjoy it. Just let the fretboard study and application of fundamentals be a fresh element that you pile on to the ground you've already covered. Good luck!
I have always thought of that 3 major sound as the America’s Funniest Home Videos chord. There’s a line in theme has the same progression as in the chorus of Still Loves This Man (I-III-IV-II). Anyway Wayne I have been listening to your music for a long time and just recently started learning mandolin. Thanks for doing these!
Wow Wayne. What a rule breaker so to speak. In chord scales the 3rd would be minor with the 2nd but not here. B is major. And what an interesting sound with the chord moving from a half step down and then up.
Glad you like the channel David and thx for the comment! I've never watched Justified so I'm not familiar with the Crow family. Yes, I live in Boiling Springs.....
That was very very eye opening .. Thanks .
Glad it was helpful!
This point about seeing the “bigger picture” and not just memorizing breaks and finger placements is so important! Thank you, Wayne.
Yep. Learn to play the mandolin and to be musical not just memorize songs. Thats my approach to teaching....
Enjoyed stumbling upon this lesson.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Wayne

@Harvey Declan definitely, I have been using Flixzone for months myself :)
@Harvey Declan Thank you, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I really appreciate it !

Yep. This classic chord progression has helped a lot of players learn to "hear" these changes ... .
Another great tutorial 🍀
Thx Peter. I sure love this song....
I have to say Wayne you remind me of a family named Crow in the series called Justified. I do like your page. Do you live In up state SC?
Glad you like the channel David and thx for the comment! I've never watched Justified so I'm not familiar with the Crow family. Yes, I live in Boiling Springs.....
Thanks a bunch!
Where can I find a strap like that? Just curious
Great lesson Wayne! Really a big point to not just memorize stuff blindly but try to understand it and apply it elsewhere too.
Thx Drew. Hopefully this is encouraging to some mando players and the "standards" can become more foundation.
