Miyamura is 90% of the time a sweet cinnamon roll, so Hori is _really_ into him doing stuff out of character or contradictory to his normal behavior = acting like a bad guy & being mean. So pretty much Hori isn't an entire masochist, she only enjoys when Miyamura is the one being rough, and wouldn’t take it from anybody else.

Self-Centered Jealousy and Possessiveness from her part, but it's cool cuz she knows and acknowledges it, making her very likable as a character. It's crazy how a manga from 15 years ago has a better written female protagonist and love story than 90% of today's romance anime's where it takes like 10 out of 12 episodes for them to just hug or hold hands.

Ngl it almost scared me off too but I stuck to it and he eased up because that simply wasn’t him. (Maybe he ended up growing some backbone as well from this experience but I don’t remember)
Nothing really, short version is he is a super nice guy most of the time but his girlfriend finds it hot when he acts rude and mean so he is acting like this to make her happy. Edit: The guy actually does have a mean streak but it normally only comes out when someone messes with his girl or others close to him. Hence why he also pulled out that glare to scare off the guys harassing the black hair girl. He also acts like this when he talks to his old friend from middle school which is what got his girlfriend to want him to try being rude and rough with her like he is with his friend. Note that most of the time she is the more aggressive one and is kind of scary
